From big tray of chicken wings to fried rice, they have plenty of items which I'll order next time if I'm hosting a party. The grilled pork banh mi was excellent overall. The pork was flavorful and well-seasoned, the fillings were fresh and balanced, and everything came together nicely. The only downside was the baguette, it wasn't as crunchy as I prefer. That said, the overall taste was still very satisfying, and it's definitely a banh mi I'd recommend. As I mentioned in my review a few years ago, this has been my go-to Vietnamese deli for many, many years. I moved to Arizona a few years back, and I have to admit--I truly miss this little gem. I returned today, and nothing has changed. Same great, honest service. Good sandwiches and a fantastic selection of pre-cooked foods! If I could, I'd fill my whole suitcase with their meatball sandwiches, tofu sandwiches, and BBQ sandwiches. After doing some research on yelp, I decided to try Tony's. I ordered the combination ham bahn mi and the lemongrass fish bahn mi. Both were delicious. They also have hot food available, the fried chicken wings looked good, so I ordered a half pound of those, which had around 7 pieces. The woman working the register was very nice and on my 2nd trip back I asked about the meatballs. I wanted to buy 1, but they only sold them in pairs. She made an exception and I was able to get a single meatball. This was great for them, because 2 days later I went back for 4 more. Stopped by Tony's Bakery for so dessert. It was late in the afternoon and there wasn't much available. So, I grabbed the mung bean dessert, and 1 lb of the fried shrimps with head on. With the dessert, it was good, and it was very kind of one of the ladies that worked there to warm it up for me. She let me know that it would be better that way, which it did! Softened it up a bit. As for the shrimps, I probably should've ate them sooner rather than later. By the time I wanted to enjoy them the crunch was gone!! I think coming here earlier in the day would be better. You'll have more food or desserts to choose from. What can I say about the ambience. It's a small deli in Seattle. Outside parking lot looks a little sketchy, but lots of parking. The inside is pretty small and not lots of walking space. But you're just grabbing your food and go. read more

As a native Seattleite, I've been coming to this deli since I was little and have tried a good number of things here from their vermicelli noodle boxes (loaded and filled) to their banh mi sandwiches (which I need to give another try) to even their milk tea with flan (don't really recommend). This place is located in a plaza bordering MLK and sits near Happy Lemon and Ding Feng Seafood Restaurant. This will be my second time mentioning this, but be nearly perfect with your parking because parking enforcement is still unforgiving here... or at least it still feels that way. A sign inside this deli even warns you about this. As for the inside, it's like your regular deli with a ton of foods placed on tables, random refrigerated goods and behind-the-counter fried foods. I went here with my mom this time around to grab their mango salad, egg rolls, nem nuong (Viet grilled pork sausage) and cha lua (Vietnamese ham). Everything's really good to say the least! The egg rolls have a great ratio of filling and meat (as in there isn't more of one than the other), and their mango salad always hits. Both meats are also solid too here. They do offer the mango salad as a party tray but you can also ask them to take a portion of it, and you would pay by weight instead. I was bereft after Seattle Deli on 12th closed, but Life being bigger than Grief, some months later I landed at Tony's Bakery and Deli which has the Best Bahn Mi Sandwich, good prices, and great staff. I haven't ever branched out past the #1 or #2, because they're so good. There is something about the bread at Tony's that is a cut above all others in the crowded field of affordable, non-"elevated" bahn mis in S. Seattle and White Center. The hot bar is good too, and has a large variety of dishes and sides. By the register, there is usually a variety of salad rolls, bahn cuon, and sometimes other fresh veg + meat + noodle options. Tony's is my favorite lunch, whether I grab it first thing in the AM, or stop in midday. They also do bulk orders and big cakes that look delicious. P.S. I feel I must also mention that there is some very elegant penmanship on display in signs written in English and Vietnamese--which alone is a strong reason to pay Tony's a visit. read more

I was excited to try Tonys deli and bakery out, i came across a review on TikTok about this establishment! The customer service at this establishment is a disservice to paying customers!! The ladies were rude when I entered, when i would ask questions the ladies were giving off very rude attitudes! one of the ladies basically threw a bag of fried rolls to the side when i expected them to be fresh and hot because they are literally sitting in a hot case for food but they were not! I am blown away that people have these businesses and we the people come in spending our hard earned money with them just to be treated like crap! i know there can sometimes be a language barrier but i was very polite yet all i got in return was rudeness and attitude when i am coming in and spending my money with them! i could not believe it! We are the paying customers who help keep your business open and life cant be that hard to be so rude to paying customers! The lemongrass catfish banh mi is incredible. My friend had these catered at a party and I inhaled several of them. For only $6.50 a sandwich, the price is a steal and it's a fun twist on the typical pork banh mi. The fish is also seasoned to perfection. I'd highly recommend! read more

It is a popular place to get lots of snacks and food. It looks like they also do catering as we see trays of food going out. I would advise to check thoroughly some of the prepackaged goods to make sure they are fresh and to put them in the fridge if you are not going to eat them immediately (as shelf life may not be that long). Haven't tried all the banh mi shops in the greater Seattle area, but this one takes the cake so far. They also serve a HUGE medley of other traditional grab-and-go, frozen, hot dish, and catered Vietnamese food. No place to eat in and not a lot of space inside because it's all taken up by tables and shelves to display food or store supplies, but it's worth it. I ordered 2 banh mi sandwiches (fish filet and combo meat with pate $5.50-$6.50). Good thick fluffy baguettes that have some crinkly but not dry crust. Lots of pickled veggie inside done right. Lots of filling. I was surprised that my fish was actually a whole fish fillet with a light and well-seasoned breading, not just fish "loaf". Banh mi also sported thick slices of jalapenos and cucumber. They were perfect. I also ordered a cup of da ua (Vietnamese yogurt $2.75 for about 8 oz) and banh uoc with cha lua (ground meat stuffed rice crepe rolls served with basil, veggies, slices of cha lua (Vietnamese steamed ham meatloaf), and nuoc cham (dipping sauce). There was a heftier amount meat filling inside the crepes than even my favorite place in Southern California. Everything was fresh and well done. The rice rolls kept together and the chew and texture were perfect. The nuoc cham was not watery and flavorful. The da ua was sweet and silky. Highly recommend. The place also served all of my favorite dishes and they all looked so good. Some of my favorite dishes growing up that I saw sold here and looked so delish!: steamed ginger rice place, snail rice plate, meat-stuffed tofu, banh bo nuong (pandan and coconut flavored green honeycomb cake), banh da lon (pandan and coconut flavored layered tapioca sticky cake), banh bao (meatball-stuffed steamed bun), ca phe sua da (Vietnamese coffee with sweetened condensed milk), rau ma (sweetened pennywort leaf juice), red coconut sticky rice (xoi gac nuoc dua) Looks like they also make custom celebration cakes, including pandan and durian flavors. Whether you come for lunch, dinner, stocking the snack cabinet, or catering Tony's does not disappoint. At this point the only thing I haven't tried are the cakes. I put in a $500 order for lumpia the week before my event and not only did they help me put them in my car, but they also gave me complimentary cream puffs. They were so easy to order with, and the pans the (heavy) lumpia came in were way more sturdy than I imagined for aluminum disposable pans. I will definitely be coming back for more large catering orders! I also want to emphasize how good their hot food bar, ready to make ready to order bahn mi, fresh rolls, and just pantry supplies are. It was my first time here this morning and the prepackaged food section was already pretty full at 8am. I got 2 grilled pork bahn mi with veggies on the side and a box of sticky rice cakes. The pork is delicious but they were a bit stingy with the bag of veggies compared to Saigon Deli. I also was disappointed to see in past photos that there were 2 green pandan rice cakes in the dessert box every but I only got 1 so I have a sneaky suspicion that this was a leftover box from yesterday since they just opened 30 mins ago and there was only 1 box on display. The store is confusing. If you want bahn mi, walk in and go the far left corner where the bahn mi station is and order there. I also had a discrepancy in price at the register. Each bahn mi was $6 and the rice cakes were $4 so I was expecting a $16 total but it was oddly $17. It was too round of a number to be tax so I don't know if that was a credit card fee or just a mistake on the cashier's part. So my experience has left me with a bit of mixed feelings. I've been coming here since I was a kid and my family often makes catering orders here for our parties. We've never run into an issue until recently when we made an order for pickup and upon arrival it wasn't made nor ready. The cashier asked for 10-15 minute wait and said it'd be ready by then. This time passed and I was asked to wait another 10-15. After this amount of time passed I was then told the truth that the order was never made. Then I was asked for about 20-30 minutes and was gifted a drink. I ran to a store nearby to pick up other items and returned in that time. After I entered the store, I was told that the order was ready but still needed time to cool down. I ended up waiting another 10-15 minutes. Authentic Asian food and looked and tasted amazing. I ordered to have catering for my daughters birthday and ordered fried rice and egg rolls. I saw some chicken wings there that looked to good to pass up. They were the hit at the party and everyone kept asking what kj f they were but I honestly have no idea. When I first arrived on the outside I was like uhhh but it's definitely a little mom and pop type place but you will not be disappointed. The only thing was that I did try to special order without eggs but because of the language barrier I had to keep it as is. I will order from there again.
