Ok. A bit of a tough call since I'm a local but.....the bartender can't add, check your bill and change, the waitress didn't know what 'loaded' baked potato was and it took two staff to open a bottle of Rutherford Hill cab. The food was very good, everybody was very nice but they are lacking in very basic knowledge of what and who they serve. I am from Chicago and will put up Pub & Primes prime rib against any of Chicago steak house's prime rib.

We ate indoors. Outdoor bar area very loud, and I have heard food outdoors is not as good as indoors. Really good prime rib and steak. Waitress was very busy and did not refill drinks, but great food and good value. read more

The food is fresh but I was really expecting something better. We've always driven past and it was always packed. The salad with coconut and shrimp lacking excitement. Chicken sandwich ok, burger was big but not seasoned. Prime rib sandwich was good but once again..Ok. the waiter was very inattentive and the tiki bar was not even at the height of the night. Wow! It's been more than 10 years since my last visit to St. Germain and I had the impression this restaurant was a sports bar -- I was delighted to find out how wrong I was!. I don't know how long this restaurant has been established, but it's owner makes obvious, there is more to come! What more? They have excellent food, service, and drinks. Hubby got the small cut of prime rib and I opted for the giant prawns -- excellent! The bread, relish tray and onion haystack are insane! They have tables for couples, small and large groups. My only suggestion is to dim the lights -- that's it! Otherwise, the atmosphere is casual, family-friendly, and terrific value for the price. And, the servers are awesome! We'll be visiting again with family in 2017 and can't wait to introduce them to the Pub & Prime! read more

It was ok, not as fancy of meals as I would think they would have. Staff was friendly. The interior was very nice, but the food fell short for our family. Not a great amount of menu choices for the kids. The initial relish tray was a bit strange for us. The rolls were the worst ones I have had in awhile. THE place for prime rib! The rest of the menu is limited. If they are busy wait times can be long. I've ate here many times and the service can be iffy depending upon how busy they are. The last three reviews that are all one star appear to be fake reviews. If you click on each of the individuals, each one of them has only written one review in their entire history. This is usually a very good sign that a local competitor in the same town is trying to trash the restaurant on yelp to drive business to their restaurant. We get in here at about 8:30 on a Friday night. About half a dozen cars in the lot. Not busy at all. They have this crazy rule up in the north woods in some places you can't eat at the bar. Wife and I enjoy eating at the bar and with her having a bum hip, it's just more comfortable. When we walk in and ask if they are still serving, the first thing bartender does is look at the clock and gave us a "I guess so" look. We are the only two people in the bar. So we ask for a menu. She hands us one menu and says we have to share it. We still don't really have a problem at this point. We ask to place an order and she gets a waitress to take our order. The bartender tells us we cant eat at the bar. Ok. We get it and the waitress takes us to a table in the bar. We get our appetizer and two guys walk in. The two guys place an order with the bartender and she starts bringing them out food. We can't believe it. Maybe we are just over reacting, but what the heck. We tipped the waitress and left without eating. So no way we can rate the food, but serving policies and the way the handle customers needs some attention. read more

Went there for the prime rib and it was, pretty good. Not a lot of spice, but I didn't get any of the edge. Waitstaff was complaining to me about their having to work, people not being seated in their section....and that sort of wrecked it. Came on a motorcycle and I don't know for sure but feels like because we are dressed in leather we were stuck in the back corner. The beard was cold, don't really know if that is the way it comes but it was not good. The Prime rib was not the best I have had,but it was good and hot. Having not visted this establishment in six years, it was a pleasure to return for dinner and drinks, all which are reasonably priced. Going Downhill I'm afraid. I have always enjoyed this restaurant. They have some problems and have only been open a couple of days a week. Which is scary to me because of the freshness quality of the food. They have not put a dime in the place and the furnishings have fallen to disrepair. Just finished an excellent meal! Drove 1.5 hours to enjoy the best prime rib I have ever had. Always the best...for the last 25+ years. Get here before the dinner rush (3-4:30) to enjoy your choice of seating, great service and $2 off each entrée. Be mindful that they are only open Thursday-Sunday and you will not be disappointed! This was one of the worst dining experiences our family has ever had. Initially the meal started normally. Quickly that changed. I clearly ordered a white soda and was given a glass of wine. Then shortly after my father in law was asked to move down seats by the hostess they sat a table of 20 right behind him where he repeatedly was asked to move back and forth during his meal. We had to wait for our complete order to come because we ordered sour cream with our meal and that was not brought out with our entree. We asked for it; the waitress proceeded to get drinks for another table and serve butter and rolls for the table behind us before we got our sour cream. By the time it arrived our potatoes were cold and half our meal was already eaten. For the price of the prime rib the portions were meager at best. The cucumbers in the salad appeared to be very thin and were almost translucent. The green leaf salad with one cherry tomato cut in half did not foreshadow a good dining experience. After our meal was served we did not see or was asked about our meal at all. All wait staff was catering to the only large group in the restaurant. My husband had an empty beer for over 10 minutes when my father in law began to inform her of our disappointment she asked " well did you order another round?" He replied " how could we? You weren't here or checked on our table." he then asked for the check as we were not going to add anything else to our current order. We waited another 10 minutes and finally had enough. We asked for a member of management or ownership and were told that not one person was there. After we expressed our concern the only accommodation offered was a gift certificate. I do not want to return our meal should have been complimentary. The windows were dirty, a fly was flying around our table, and it had an odor. Needless to say our friends and family who come here will be told not to dine here as well. Lack of other options is probably the only reason they are in business. read more

Oh we're to begin...we have eaten her many times so I first called to see the wait for a table of 2 and was told 10 minutes at 6:45. Arrived at 7:00 and was told 45-1 hr. Okay it's a holiday weekend so we will wait....finally after almost 1:45 were seated after the hostess allowed the "locals" who had just walk in be seated right away and take a table away from people that have waited an hour +! The hostess had no control of her dining room! Finally got seated and ordered our prime rib dinners as we love their prime rib. Salads came and were delish! Next our very nice waiter came to us and said -"we have run out of prime rib!" How can a restaurant called Pub n Prime run out of their signature dish!!!!! Well we ordered filet and rib eye which were very tasty as well. Ended our 31/2 hour dinner having not to pay anything but gave our waiter a very appreciated tip! It was just so wrong the excuses the hostess was telling people. I understand it gets extremely busy up here but it's best to be honest up front and not to lie to current or future customers!! read more

Sunday evening. Went to eat supper with puppy. No one was eating outside on picnic tables. We did not ask to eat outside on the deck. Asked to sit on lower level picnic table and waitress said we could not eat there. Asked manger if we could we stay and then if anyone else came we would leave and take our dinner to go. My family and I went here to get some food and brought our puppy along, we asked if we could sit outside with our puppy and a waitress said no. My mother talked to the manager and the manager was very rude and gave no explanation just said no have a nice day and walked away. We are not mad that they said no to the puppy because many restaurants up here don't allow dogs outside due to health restrictions however we would have appreciated being treated better. The prime rib can be good and of course the Tiki Bar is fun. But the salad was a joke, crappy dry so-called lettuce, the appetizer tray had dried up old icky carrots, onion, and the famous half of a syrupy peach for each person on the tray with the so-called vegetables.
