We were there at 7:50 and walked in for breakfast. We were rudely told to get out because they didn't open till 8 am. I asked why the front door was open and got a dumb look from the cleaning boy. He said " Nothing was ready yet". I'm thinking that " You're the 65 year old cleaning boy with a spray bottle And a rag in your hand?? Who's making the breakfast??? Why aren't you helping because you open in ten minutes???" Needles to say that we were kicked out ten minutes before they opened even though the front door was Open. !! Another needless to say that we won't be coming back 65 year old cleaning boy" cleaning boy """. read more

Nice bar..friendly bartender...but as soon as we saw the Trump 2028 hat on display we left. Politics.. especially as toxic as they are now have no place in a bar. Same goes for Religion. Alcohol and either of those topics makes for a volatile situation that sane people want no part of. We will not be back. read more

An iconic north woods bar restaurant. Historic map painted on the bars ceiling sets off the bar and the restaurant area is adorned with fish and wildlife mounts. The bar is know for delicious and hearty Bloody Mary's, perfect Wisconsin Old Fashioned's and beers. The pizza is good and I love their broasted chicken. The jalapeño poppers are typical frozen fair but are cream cheese filled and tasty but the best part of them is the sweet chili dipping sauce. Our service last night was great. The young man was on the ball, with food ordering and drinks. read more

Sayner Pub - Beer Garden week of Halloween - Pizza Near Me - Sayner, Wisconsin

We just finished a round of golf nearby and my friend recommended we stop here bc of the pizza special. Top notch service, we had a disc that notified us no longer than 5 minutes since it was busy for a Thursday. Chicago and Wisconsin themed walls along with many slot machines. Very chill vibes. Quickly seated and had local beers from breweries that were very good. We then ordered some curds that didn't make it in the photos bc we were starving. We ordered a buffalo chicken, cheese pizza, and pub pizza. Pizzas came out very quick and we were hesitant being in the north woods but boy did they deliver. Thin and crispy crust and sharp cheese blends what not to love? Wish I could take a pic of all the pies but we were hungry. If you're ever in the Eagle River area def make a stop in! read more

On Tuesday (August 12th), early afternoon we were looking for a place to eat outside with our dog after an unsuccessful late morning of fishing. They were already pretty busy and not serving in the beer garden. They had some great local beers on tap. I asked the bartender, how to get food if sitting outside. She said the grill was pretty backed up and pizza was our best bet. I ordered two Muskie Bites and a Pub Special pizza (without peppers). We sat in the beer garden with our puppy. A family sat nearby. Their young girl entering first grade, showered our puppy with attention. I ordered a White Legs (a jalapeño wheat ale), also on tap - excellent! The bartender Ambee brought the pizza out herself. It was really great - and without the green peppers as ordered. We were quite pleased. She was once of those servers that you have to admire. Professional, didn't dawdle, acknowledged my presence while waiting at the bar, when it was my turn to be served, she was quickly informative. Turns out she gave great advice on the pizza. She answered our questions about the Friday fish fry when delivering the pizza. Great service and food, local beers on tap. Dog friendly- we will be back. read more

They definitely have the best wings around and their pizza is fantastic, recently was our first fish fry. You get four pieces of haddock either deep fried or Cajun baked, both were great. Even though the potato pancakes were commercially made, they were some of the best I've had. The only downside was the coleslaw was vinegar based rather that creamy but that's a personal preference. The service was great, the dinner was only $14, great deal. read more

Ordered 5 meals, waited longer than normal, food came out and the meal that was the special didn't come. Waited an additional 20 minutes for that meal to end up taking it with us as we needed to get back to our resort. Not the place we have enjoyed going to over the years! read more

We came in and immediately were seated on memorial day around 6 pm. The waitress was really nice !!!!!! Young blood female, don't know her name, I ordered a wine Zinfandel to drink and a cheeseburger ! my burger was super Juicy and delicious. The 14" pizza had a crispy crust and was pretty good. Corn dogs were rated a 5/5 by the kids. The ribs were fall off the bone. They were delicious according to my husband. Super fun place to stop in if you are staying in the area. read more

We've gone to Sayner Pub for years The pizza was always delicious and consistent. Recently however, we've noticed that the pizza has changed and not as good. Not sure what's different but I wish they'd go back to the old pizza recipe. read more

Buried deep in the northern Wisconsin north woods is this gem of a bar/restaurant. It was a Tuesday night and the place was packed! I gotta think that every vacation cabin in the Sayner area was empty! Even though almost every parking spot around the building was full, we actually walked in and got a table. (Big groups had to wait). Because of Yelp reviews we felt we had to order a pizza, but I was intrigued by "The Legionary" Steak Sandwich. Of course we got both...and we were not let down by either!!! The pizza had a tasty thin soft crust and all the toppings were plentiful. Definitely a winner and has my stamp of approval! The steak sandwich was tender and smothered with cheese and onions. It did have a little grizzle, but I just cut it off. (The onions and cheese are extra I think). This was a huge sandwich served on a hoagie with au jus for dipping. Also very good. The sandwich came with a side, for the fun of it I tried the cucumber salad. So different than your usual fries or baked potato. It's sliced cucumbers in a sour cream sauce... it think your gonna like it! Even though I gave this place 5 stars, there were some issues. We ate at 6:30 on a Tuesday (Taco Night!) and they were out of a lot of foods from the menu (more than just a few) Also, even though we got seated quickly, we did have to wait a long time to get our check at the end. Overall I enjoyed the food and the location so much it was easy to overlook any shortcomings. Hope to make it back again soon. read more

Im a local resident who has patronized the Pub for more than 50 years. It has definitely deteriorated under the current ownership. My most recent pizza was burnt and nearly inedible. They clearly don't care anymore. read more

First time going to Sayner Pub so we have nothing to compare it to with the former owners' food. The pizza was outstanding. It is thin crust and cut into squares which just so happens to be my preference. If you like thicker or doughy crust, this isn't for you. Topping were generous and the whole thing cooked perfectly. The blue cheese salad had an unusual mix of toppings, including cranberries and a snack mix, but it totally worked and was delicious. The others in our party really enjoyed the steak sandwich and taco special. Although I did not try their food, I'm knocking a star for using store bought premade taco shells. That's just blasphemous! Service was efficient and pleasant without hovering. read more

Excellent food with friendly servers who work hard to ensure a terrific meal. Pizza is number one in the area.

Great roadside spot; jam packed at 2 in the afternoon on a Thursday in August. The food and beer were excellent. I had a steak sandwich and local IPA. Servings were large. Lots of TVs to watch a game. I'll be back. read more

JustTerrible place someone thought was a good idea to meet at. The food was mediocre at best. Service was trying, but it looked like the management (owner?) was in a bad mood and it showed.Just not a nice place to enjoy yourself. Thankfully I will likely never have the displeasure of having to visit this establishment, and y'all can't say you haven't been warned if you're sitting in there questioning your life's choices. This was one you could have prevented. read more

Sayner Pub never disappoints! Visited here on Friday August 23rd. Had the 3 piece cod dinner. Cooked to perfection, lightly battered. Crispy, flaky. I opted for the cucumber salad. Glad I did. Fries should have been hot and crispy, they were not. They were limp. Wife had those. And the Old Fashions! If you've never had one here, I suggest you do. IMO, best in the land! A full 16 oz., muddled, I order mine Korbel Sweet. Is there any other way? read more

This is not a review on the food servers or our waitress Michelle it is for whoever was running the Kitchen on 07/09/25. Our group of 8 has been to the Sayner Pub many times over the years and I understand it's a busy place-but our experience was so bad I had to write this review. It started at the bar where we had a few rounds of drinks and ordered appetizers Walleye Bobbers and Deep Fried Green Beans that order was placed at around 5:25 we got seated at our table at 6:10 and still no appetizers. Appetizers finally showed up 10 minutes later after we place our dinner order. Now on to the dinner 2 Pizza's, 2 Reuben's, 2 piece chicken dinner,Pub Wrap and over an hour and we still did not see our food . One of our Party went over to the bartender and asked to see the manager, bartender said he would send him/her over well that never happened. We all left the Sayner Pub with the same bad taste in our mouth on how the Kitchen really made our experience god awful. read more

Food was very disappointing and high priced. Was super hungry and heard/thought they had good food. Got appetizer sampler, wings, and chicken nachos. Wings were fatty and gross. Nachos had cheese sauce and chicken that both tasted off and just not good. Veggies were just as bad including jalapeños that had zero flavor. Had to go to the bar to order anything and service was mediocre at best. Had a good experience years ago snowmobiling, but this was not comparable. read more

I have been coming up north since I was a little girl. When we are here, you have to go to Sayner Pub. Their Bloody Mary's are amazing. Just consider your drink your appetizer. It comes with a garden of veggies, meat, cheese, and a beer shooter. We have not been up here in 5 years. They may have new owners but the food did not disappoint at all! We started with cheese curds. You come to WI, you must get cheese curds. I had the French dip with Sweet Potato fries. They were both delicious. Let me just say the sweet potato fries are a waffle cut fry. Amazingly good! My son had a double burger with cheese, he devoured it. His girlfriend had the veggie pizza and really enjoyed it. Always a good place to relax and eat! read more

This place is a fun bar restaurant to go to. It is touristy in the summer and a great location for campers. In the winter it is lively for winter sports. They have terrific pizza, special drinks, and it's great for families. read more

Great sports bar in the north woods! They have a fabulous large bar with ample TVs. Also a small game room with a pool table, and a small dining room. We enjoy coming here for Wisconsin games, staff have always been friendly and bartenders make a great bloody. They have a large following of dedicated customers and get busy quickly. They have a typical bar menu with plenty of appetizers to satisfy your half time hunger as well as pizzas and a few pasta options. read more

Tried calling to order for pickup and kept getting an answering. Second night went there to eat. We were told we could sit outside on the patio. We're told when we were ready to order go in and give the bartender the order. Waited at the bar and was ignored. Finally someone came over and said we could only order pizza outside. Wasn't handicapped assessable. The experience was awful. Don't know how the inside was because I couldn't get in. read more

My wife and I just finished a "traditional" WI Friday Night Fish Fry at the Sayner Pub. We were pleasantly greeted immediately upon entering the building. She had the baked, and I had the blackened cod dinner. Both meals were done to perfection!! The potato salad and the cole slaw were both excellent also. And not to forget, the draft beer selection was very diverse. We will be returning sometime in the near future for their amazing looking (viewed the table next to ours) pizza! Thank you Sayner Pub for a great WI northwoods dining experience!! You will certainly not leave there feeling hungry! read more

This pub was recommended for its great pizza but it was a bit of a disappointment. We ordered the pizza fries which probably would have been much better if they had been hot when we got them. Nice thin crust but would have been better with some garlic for a little flavor. The special pizza that day was a BLT pizza, a 12 inch pizza with thin crust and semi cooked bacon with chopped lettuce and tomato on top with a Mayo like drizzle. It was underwhelming, and overpriced. The meat lovers pizza was the best but still a little on the bland side. Overall it was just okay, the food at the tables around us looked good so maybe pizza isn't the best choice depending on your pizza preference. The server was very friendly and the atmosphere was cozy . read more

We come exactly once a year for the Bloody Mary's and the broasted chicken. It's become a bit of tradition. The Bloody Mary's are legendary, and we understand their old fashioned's are as well. We had one of each this time, and the Mary's remain awesome. The old fashioned? Well, I guess they aren't really our type of drink, so can't comment really. They make them three ways...so if that's your thing, give it a try. The broasted chicken is fantastic on a good night, and on a not good night, well, it can be overdone. This year it was done perfectly and arrived so hot to the table the pieces were steaming inside some 15 minutes later. They don't always offer on carryout if they are busy-- so call ahead to make sure if you want to take out vs. eat in. If you're there on a busy night (read: Fridays or anytime around the 4th July) all bets are off in terms of wait time, food availability (one year they ran out of chicken) and quality of service. It must be very difficult to run a restaurant with occasional massive surges and most of the rest of the time relatively light traffic. At least this year they got a table paging system. read more
