We arrived here on a Wednesday at 5:30 and were told it would be a 45 minute wait for 2 people for dinner. 1 3/4 hours later I went to check on our reservation and was told we were next up. At 2 hours wait I went in again and was told again that we were next. I'm sorry but a 2 hour wait is not acceptable and I can't imagine the food is worth that kind of a wait. NEVER AGAIN, too many other places to eat!!! read more

Food was so good we went back the next day for dinner probably would have gone back a third time but they are closed on Monday service was great and setting was perfect for up north. read more

We always snowmobile to the Sayner Pub and it's the perfect up north bar. The decor is great, there is plenty of space for all of your snowmobile garb, and the service is usually pretty quick (we only do drinks usually so not sure for food). They have great hot chocolate and bloodies! The decor inside is so fun it's a lot of old sports memorabilia, some taxidermy, and some bar games. There is also plenty of parking for your snowmobile or car. It's a great stop along on any snowmobile trek! read more

Service was great and food was whole-heartedly Wisconsin. We loved our experience and can't wait to return. read more

This place WOW'd me!! We stopped in to watch the Packer game and I ordered up a Bloody Mary. The BM came in a 12" high glass mug loaded with, a meat Slim Jim, huge stalk of celery, pickled mushroom, Brussels sprout, pepperoncini, pickle. It was a meal in itself. The beer chaser came in a 3" tall shot glass. Take a look at the picture I uploaded and you can see what I mean. We also had a sampler plate of mushrooms, onion rings, cauliflower, chicken nuggets. It was awesome. The Packers kicked butt and it was a great experience to be there and enjoy the game with the crowd of locals. There must have been 8-48" TV's hanging on the wall, so it was easy from any location to view the game. We're going to try the pizza and/or a sandwich next time we stop in. read more

Sayner Pub - Pizza Near Me - Sayner, Wisconsin

We took a pitstop during our long bike ride for lunch at the Sayner Pub. This place is great. Friendly staff and VERY clean. My husband got the huge fish sandwich and I got the French dip. Both were very tasty. If we hadn't been biking, we would have enjoyed one of the many beers that they have on tap. read more

Great food, excellent service, clean place, friendly, warm and very reasonably priced! No wonder it's popular! Husband & I came to enjoy the wonderful bike trails in the area for the first time & were treated to a keeper of a place for meals! For lunch, we had the fish fry with tasty sides of beans, coleslaw & a choice of either potato salad or cucumber salad- both were good! In another time, for dinner, had the ribs & broasted chicken & ooh the nachos soup, sweet potato fries were super! Oh, don't forget the nicely packed & presented Bloody Mary! We're coming back in the fall! read more

Our families favorite place to visit in the Northwoods! My husband and I were recently visiting Wausau and decided to drive up to the Sayner/ Plum Lake area to view the changing leaves. We had to stop in for lunch during our scenic drive. I had to start our lunch with my summertime favorite a sweet brandy old fashioned. Best Old fashioned ever, as always. I had the delicious broasted chicken which came with fries and coleslaw. He had the taco salad which he enjoyed a ton. We had so much food that I took two pieces of chicken and most of his salad back to the hotel with us. I have been coming to Plum Lake for 40 years with my family and the Sayner Pub is always a must for their pizza and beer during the summer. We always try to make it back for the Marvins but that has been difficult the last handful of years. We have rarely had a bad experience and the staff is always very friendly. If you ever hit a restaurant on a bad night it's your loss if you don't give them a second chance. The Sayner Pub is a Northwoods relic and although it changed hands once that we know of it has always been consistent in the quality. The atmosphere is second to none and if you have kids or gamers bring your coins as there is plenty of fun to be had. Just like when we were kids visiting the Pub with our parents! read more

Their food is pretty good, and the service is almost always excellent. They have their Sayner Pub Ale, which is a great beer at a great price. If you like HOT Buffalo Wings, order the 10's...and several glasses of milk. These things are HOT! read more

I've liked this place for 25+ years. It's as good as always. Restaurants in the North Woods can be real hit or miss, but I think the food is good here. Bloody Mary is like a sculpture. Even has hard salami and cheese. read more

Taylor's sayner pub is the absolute best! 10/10 would recommend. Service and food are the best! The broasted chicken is always a must. The monster Bloody Mary is a fav! You really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. If you're snowmobiling, it is an absolute must stop! read more

Great thin crust pizza with generous toppings. Friend staff and speedy service for pickup. Would definitely recommend and return.

Classic stop on the trials for a place to warm up and grab a beer. Awesome pizza that I would rate top 3 in the Northwoods so go in for yourself to find out your own ranking! Good amount of space for helmets and jackets/parking for the sleds make this a frequent stop anytime we are out this way on the trials. read more

Killer pizza, awesome Old Fashioneds, friendly bartenders... what more could you ask for in the heart of the northwoods/middle of freaking nowhere? Seriously. We spent the weekend camping but wanted to catch the Packers stomp the Seahawks, so off to the Sayner Pub we went this past Sunday night. Pleasantly surprised and then some with the decor and vibe of the place, the food, and the whole experience in general. Had a blast, ate some awesome 'za (sauce = somewhat sweet, totally dig!) and will definitely return, because I love it up there, you guys. read more

Sayner Pub - Vilas County - Sayner, WI - this was our first visit, a friend from San Diego recommended meeting here for dinner - it was a great recommendation. We enjoyed some dark bier at the bar, made right in Woodruff - while making new friends and enjoying the conversation. Dinner was in the dining room - we tried the Bullseye Pizza and it was delicious, our friend had the fish sandwich and fries and honestly couldn't finish it as it was so big. Great food, served in the Northwoods ambiance, by friendly people - that's what we were looking for and that's what we got and that's why we'll be back again soon. We had lot's of fun on our first visit to Sayner Pub - when you are in the area, stop by and give them a try, I know you'll be glad you made the visit. read more

Interesting interesting little place... In the end of September I took my first trip to Wisconsin. Was there for a nice outdoor wedding in Wausau and then the following day headed north. After an amazing short bike ride through the changing leaves, my girlfriend, her mom and myself ended up at Sayner Pub. This is a quaint little town with deer in some of the local yards and Sayner Pub appeared the place to be. We stepped in and sat at the bar. Each ordered a few pints of Wisconsin's local ales and enjoyed some of the local artist work and various wildlife mounts inside the place. This was not a hopping afternoon for the pub, but everyone there was friendly and happy. I cant attest to the food, but it smelled good. If you find yourself in Sayner (camping or just a pit-stop), I'd suggest stopping in. After all, I hear its a pretty good site at the end of the trail to find first love... read more

Save your time and your money. Got here at 6:15 on. Tuesday night, was told "45 minutes, probably less". At 7:45pm, yes, an hour and a half later, went back to hostess and asked wtf was going on. Either you want our business or we're leaving. She finally gave us a table at 8pm. It should be noted that they allowed a large group to sit in the side room, watching a baseball game, rather than asking them to move to the bar because, in their own words, "the kitchen is pretty backed up." Ridiculous. When we finally got our appetizers, (the &16.99 sampler platter), it was all burnt and inedible. At 9pm, a solid 2 hours and 45 minutes after arriving, we finally got our meals. Unbelievable. Hire more help and learn to manage your restaurant. Needless to say, after coming here every summer for the last 30+ years, our family will NEVER be back. read more

We go camping in the area outside Sayner and usually save a trip there for a rainy evening for dinner. The Sayner Pub is our usual destination. The pizza is always good and the staff is very friendly and attentive. I've never had a bad or even so-so experience there. The food is mostly sandwiches and pizza so don't expect anything too fancy. That said, it will be hard to find something you and your whole family won't like. read more

Fantastic casual dining. Each in our party of 5 enjoyed a lunch entree varying from steak sandwich to sandwich wraps, to a cheese and steak sandwich. Our server was friendly and efficient. We'll be back! read more

Great pizza and amazing service! Super affordable, a must visit in the North woods. Also the bloody Mary's are great as well.

Great food nice friendly service! Clean dinning area! Nice decor very Northwoods! Definitely will go back next time we are in town.

They need to pay attention to their carry out customers. Too many times toppings are missing.. warm food cold, cold food warm, the sides are missing. Carry out customers are patrons too! read more

We always go here when we are up north. I have never had a bad meal. The pizza is the best! I've had their fried chicken which is awesome and ribs which is succulent. Wings were great. Atmosphere good inside. Druggies outside were a tad annoying. Especially the girl that was showing off her boobs in the parking lot. I'm not a prude but we could have done without that. read more

I stop in Sayner at least once a summer to shop; today was the first time I have had lunch here. Nice, Northwoodsy feel, 2 TV's and a nice bar area greet you on entry. Came here for the first time after being up in the Northwoods for the past 10 years. Had one of the most memorable meals in a long time! Friendly people, good food, huge bloody Mary's. FYI- be careful of the hot scale on the wings! 5 is plenty hot!

Great pub. Went twice -- once for pizza and once for Friday fish fry. Both meals were great. Atmosphere is exactly what you would expect in this neck of the woods. $5 a beer seemed a little steep, but I really enjoyed the $8 22oz bloody mary. read more

We stopped here on a busy Sunday night after leaving another restaurant, because the service was so terrible. The place was packed, but the hostess was lovely and extremely accommodating, as were the bar personnel. We ended up eating at the bar within half an hour, despite the fact that they told us there was a one hour wait. The pizza was very good. My kids loved the chicken wings and corndog bites. The atmosphere was great. Very reasonable. Definitely will be back. read more
