Half of a brisket sandwich and a whole lot of fries!

Traveling through Conover and happened upon this place. Lunch was super tasty. Both the lunch special, enchiladas, and brisket sandwich were delicious. There was ample meat on both. The ice tea was so refreshing and smooth. Service was quick and efficient with the waitress coming at the right frequency. The decor was quite pleasing with black, white and color popped in. The horseshoe bar seemed very inviting especially with the big window pane behind it. We really enjoyed our lunch experience there and if ever in the area again, we'll be sure to drop by.

We stopped at The Wild Turkey randomly as we passed through town and it was some of the best BBQ I ever had--and I've been to Texas, the South, etc. All meat was fork tender and fell off the bone. The ribs in particular were my favorite. The baked beans were unlike any other baked bean I've had. It had multiple types and sizes that kicked it up a notch. Everything was handmade, even the hand cut French fries. Nothing frozen here, folks. The owner and master smoker, Ed, ran the bar on this particular day and was very pleasant to chat with over the course of the lunch. The restaurant was just recently renovated and looks great. All in all I wish I lived near this restaurant because it was that good. Ed could easily win any BBQ competition around. 10/10.

Wife and I had the smoked wings (Buffalo and Garlic Parm). Best wings we've had anywhere! Great service and surprisingly low prices.

Delicious food and great service! Their smoked wings are our favorite. The small salad bar is also good!

Old Fashioneds are good with good service. Brisket (smoked) is to die for. Definitely worth it but the red potatoes are everything.

Food was good, but over priced. Overall the experience was good. Portions were smaller than expected for the price though.

I mention this to give credit to the female bartender who was hustling her tail off. Once seated she came over and took our drink order. THE ONLY NEGATIVE THING I WILL SAY ABOUT THIS PLACE IS THERE WAS NO DRINK MENU. Our gin and tonic, brandy old fashioned, white Zinfandel, and Bloody Mary with a chaser came out extremely fast. A perch dinner, beer battered fish fry, chicken tender, and a classic burger were ordered. We waited about 20 minutes for our food to arrive. My 3 piece beer battered cod was flaky and not greasy. My husband's perch came with 2 large filets and he said he really liked it. Chicken tenders are chicken tenders and hard to mess up haha. My dad said his burger was flavorful and juicy. For all 4 of us ordering food and having alcoholic beverages, our bill came to a little over $100. The bartender thanked us for our patience since she was the only person working, but we didn't feel we ever waited a long period for anything. Will definitely be back.

They were already pretty busy and not serving in the beer garden. They had some great local beers on tap. I asked the bartender, how to get food if sitting outside. She said the grill was pretty backed up and pizza was our best bet. I ordered two Muskie Bites and a Pub Special pizza (without peppers). We sat in the beer garden with our puppy. A family sat nearby. Their young girl entering first grade, showered our puppy with attention. I ordered a White Legs (a jalapeño wheat ale), also on tap - excellent! The bartender Ambee brought the pizza out herself. It was really great - and without the green peppers as ordered. We were quite pleased. She was once of those servers that you have to admire. Professional, didn't dawdle, acknowledged my presence while waiting at the bar, when it was my turn to be served, she was quickly informative. Turns out she gave great advice on the pizza. She answered our questions about the Friday fish fry when delivering the pizza. Great service and food, local beers on tap. Dog friendly- we will be back.
