Thanks Dawn for the great service! Been coming to this area for about 40 years and living in the Northwoods for close to seven. First stop here and my wife and I loved it. We sat where we had a great view of Big Arbor Vitae Lake across the street. We had the Soup of the Day which was Stuffed Green Pepper soup. That was very good. A lot of ground beef in it. A bowl of it would be a meal. I'd have every one at the table order it and get the Huge Pretzel appetizer to go with it. We ordered and shared The Patty Melt and upgraded to the fries instead of the rippled chips. Great rye bread and grilled just right. My wife would have liked dill rather than bread and butter pickle chips. Next time we'll ask if that's an option. It wasn't a deal breaker. We also had the Walleye Finger Basket. Wow! Nice big chunks of walleye with a very good coating. I upgraded to the regular onion rings. These were perfectly cooked and had a great crunch to complement the ring of onion on the inside. We were able to take advantage of their offer on the T-bird Football electronic card. Even without it, we will be back to try other things like the Ruben Rolls! read more

This was my family's first time at Slo's Pub and we couldn't have been happier. Speedy service, delicious food (with even some unique menu choices), great prices and the lake views are wonderful. We stopped in on a Saturday for lunch and were told to seat ourselves. The place was busy but not packed. We grabbed a hightop with lake views and perused the menu. The adults ordered old fashioneds ($5.50) and the kiddos had kiddie cocktails ($2), plus an appetizer of mini corn dogs ($8.50) as we were all starving. From there the adults ordered "Greg's Taco Wrap" ($11) and the Walleye Fingers Basket ($10.50) and the kiddos ordered from the kids menu with a 9" Cheese Pizza ($5.95) and a Hamburger with Fries ($4.95) with cheese (not sure if we were up-charged for that). Note, water is self serve by the front door. The food all came out quickly and were very large servings. I couldn't believe how many fries came with the kids meal! The Taco Wrap was the highlight of the meal, but it was all delicious. Nitpick would be a lighter batter on the walleye fingers, but it was still good. We ended our meal with the kiddos playing some of the arcade games, which were surprisingly only $1 a play. My only regret is I wish I would have ordered the duck wontons. Next time! read more

They have a small patio outside that has a nice view of big arbor vitae lake. The inside is small and outdated. Did not eat the food but the spicy bloody Mary's were pretty good. They just put a lot of ice in their drinks. If this was not the case I would've rated it a 4/5! read more

Cool little bar on SW corner of Big Arbor Vitae Lake. Easy access by boat or sled. GIANT dummies, an excellent selection of beers and tasty apps! AND THEY HAVE A SPACESHIP!! :-) Just be aware........the chili is not real chili, it's more like a hamburger, cheese 'Sconnie' casserole. Tasty, but it ain't chili. This was our first visit to Slo's Pub - and it was fun and delicious. Our bartender was efficient and friendly - kudos. I had the daily special - the JUMBO chicken wings - served with several tasty sauces on the side (with plenty of napkins too), "she" had the Walleye sandwich and fries - WOW - the fish filet was the size of a canoe. Delicious lunch, overlooking Big Arbor Vitae, sipping a couple of Jack & Cokes - tough to beat in the Northwoods of Wisconsin. If you are in the Minocqua / Woodruff area - check out Slo's, just off of Hwy 70 - with a great lake view - we enjoyed our visit, I bet you'll love it too. read more

It's a "locals" northwoods bar, right? I mean, everyone there knew everyone else and the bartenders, which did mean a fairly long wait for our first set up drinks. But, that day they sponsored a milk jug regatta. They had raffles for boxes of meat! They had a band outside. They had Rumchata Pina Coladas! I'm not sure what else a gal could want. Oh yeah, two of the coladas, a 7 & 7 and a beer cost me $18! I love folksy northwoods bars! Nice indoor and outdoor seating. Slightly risque bathroom decor. Lake access directly across the street. Slo's Pub without any doubt is THE most consistent bar/restaurant in the entire Northwoods! There is NEVER a question about them being open. Weekends are insanely busy. If the capacity was 500, they would be filled. It's good fresh pub food nothing more need be said. read more

This is our one and many times only stop for food and drinks in the north woods. It is certainly our favorite place to go! Bingos on Tuesdays, friendly atmosphere, great food....I couldn't recommend it highly enough. Depending on the night you might have a little wait but it's definitely worth it. They have a great menu with a lot of different choices; from salads, burgars, awesome appetizers, they also have great hand made pizzas! There are great weekly specials like Mondays are $1 1/4 lb burgers, $3 Taco Tuesdays, .60 cent Wing Wed, which I have to say are some of the best wings I have ever had (and trust me I am not the only one who will tell you so!), $15 Pizza and Pitcher on Thur, Fish Fry on Fridays, Steak Sanwiches on Sat, and BOGO 1/2 off appetizers on sundays! And not only do they have great daily food specials, but also awesome daily drink specials! One of their rail bloody mary's on sundays are only $4! They are huge and come with yummy garnishes :-) I love their fish fry as well. They serve hand battered haddock as their all you can eat special, but they also serve broiled haddock, pan fried walleye, and lake perch (which are not all you can eat)! But you get generous portions for the price and Sue's homemade American Potato Salad is to die for! I would never say that the fish is dry, they make everything to order. It is not made and left out until someone orders it. One of the things that I love about this fish fry is that the fish is lightly breaded/battered. I think that fish that are over-battered/breaded can ruin a good fish fry! You go to eat fish not breading! I think service is great! Sometimes there might only be one bartender that is both bartending and waitressing, or both a bartender and a waitress, but the staff is enthusiastic and ready to serve anyone who comes through their doors! I have been coming to this bar for years and love every second I spend there! It is a fun place to be in the summer with its location on the water, they even have a dock on Big Arb. that you can park your boat so you can come in or sit on their nice cool deck! They host great events all throughout the summer like the milk jug regatta; which is a northwoods must to see if you are in the area!! And in the winter, being just off of the snowmobile trail, they are a nice stop to warm up, get some hot chocolate and a bite to eat! SLO's lived up to their name. On three separate trips to SLO's they lived up to the name...slow. Took an hour and a half from the time we sat at a table till we left. Food was food cold. This was our third time here, and all three visits same situation. A table behind us asked what happens to there're food? It was 45 minutes ago they ordered. If your a local, service is spot on!
