We went on a Saturday around 1030am before they opened and there was already people waiting. We were seated promptly and it is a very small interior so if expect a wait if you don't get there early. THE HYPE IS REAL. Not only do they have the best burgers we have tasted- they have the best fries ever too!!! The fries are homemade and salted to perfection. Burgers all were unique and so delicious. Best burger flavor ever, juicy, meaty, just wow! Bun is great as well. True to to their name- they have amazing pickles !!!! In regular form and fried pickle form. All amazing. Bloody Mary- presentation and toppings wonderful. The mix was very seasoned and very thick. It was not our favorite. I think the only thing that was lacking was there was only one waitress for all the tables and I felt bad she was running around and seemed very new. Might have been an off day. But we didn't mind waiting and enjoying the vibe.

The burger was so good and chicken strips were probably the best we've ever had. The French fries were amazing and the service was also! Good music and cool stuff on the wall. Will definitely be back. (I've never made a yelp review until eating here that's how good the food was)

Well, the hype was in the air. Bold statements, awards and all that. I was in the area, so you know I have to go and give a reality review. The ambiance was very much Up North Wisconsin, and of course I love that. The service is very friendly, and so were the patrons. Heck, we even had a whole corner of the bar I deemed Racine Co. Only Area. :) The food was very good. The wife ordered the All American Burger I believe, and I ordered the Jalapeno Popper Burger. The patties are very flavorful, the fries are hot, crisp and delicious. Both burgers were cooked perfectly (medium rare), and the toppings were high quality. My burger was an array of sweet, spicy, smokey, and creamy cheesy! The wife liked her burger, but the purple onion made her breath fire for literally two days. Soaking those bad boys would help tame the fuel for the fire. I would absolutely return and try other items. Great job Pickles!!! Keep up the great work and quality and you will be an Up North Wisconsin stalworth for years to come.

This was the absolute best burger & fries I've ever had. The 1/2 burger was juicy & delicious and the fries were homemade.

The burger was big & juicy and the fries homemade. Absolutely delicious! Even the cheesecake was good.

    Fun Selection of brews!

First time to visit this bar & grill & was quite impressed. Very friendly with fast service. We had a round of bloody Mary's which come in 3 versions: whiskey, regular & more zesty. They came with a shorty beer from Rhinelader brewery. 3 of us got the haddock fish fry which was the best fish I've ever had. Homemade tarter sauce had a dill flavor along with the light fish breading which was both very good. I got potatoe pancakes with my fish & hubby had their homemade chips. Reasonable priced & we will be back! Highly recommend but get there early if you don't want to wait for a table. Moe was our waitress & she was entertaining & quite pleasant ... the General Manager. Ended us giving my husband a free drink since it was our first time there. We will be back!

Wife and I went to Pickles because it was a good halfway point between our home in Tomahawk and my brother and sister-in-law's place in minocqua since we were meeting for lunch. We got there right at noon and the bartender seemed pretty grumpy. I get it. Unlock the door and there's customers already. Very happy to say that it didn't take long before he turned his mood around and became very friendly. Excellent service after that. Wife had a Bloody Mary that came with a huge assortment of garnish. For lunch she had the burger of the month which was a huge burger with jalapeños and a cream cheese spread topped with a blueberry jam and candied bacon. She said it was wonderful. I had a BLT which was loaded with 1/2 pound of bacon. So good. Sis-in-law has the brisket dip sandwich. She said it was great and the accompanying horseradish sauce was excellent. Brother loved his burger and fries. Can't wait to get back there again. Hats off to our bartender and chef.

As with many cases this season they were very short staffed and trying to offer good service to those that had made reservations. Our server had several tables including one of 16 people. I can't believe how good the service ended up being with Karen our waitress. As a seasoned vet in this Industry she was on top of everything. Additionally the food was Breyer than I had hoped for. We all started with the salad bar which was clean and organized. They did end up running out of ranch dressing which was a disappointment but that was the only thing that fell short the entire evening. After the salads the four of us has the French onion soup which was better than most I've had. This was followed by our main course. Two of us has the 10 oz. Fillets, on had the 16oz ribeye and lastly one liver and onions. All the steaks were fabulous and the liver was also good from what I hear. There was no rushing, Karen our server timed out servings perfectly and the evening turned out spectacular. A big kudos to the Manager for getting us in. This will be a part of our rotation moving forward. Don't forget to make reservations!

I recently moved back to Rhinelander and had to check it out again. The place looks the same which I love. Our waitress was nice and attentive. We waited for over an hour for our food and there were only about 10 customers. I had the salmon with risotto. The end of it was fishy tasting and the risotto was mushy. The other two at my table ordered their alfredo. They liked theirs, but when I looked at it, I wouldn't have liked the spiral noodle they used. I felt they were overpriced too.

I've been frequenting Timbers every Friday for their fish fry for the last 8+ years or so. To me,…read morethey have the best fish fry in the north woods by far, and it proves that you don't have to go to a fancy supper club to get good eats. The ambiance is a typical north woods bar, you can either eat at the bar or sit at one of the tables in their 'dining room' which houses the slot machines, dart board, and a few other games for kids. They have a wide selection of brews on tap, and have a full bar. The thing that I really love about this place is that everyone who works here is extremely nice. You can tell they love what they do, they're proud of where they live, and they have great senses of humor. Just overall great conversationalists. Now to the food, my favorite part: For appetizers, you HAVE to try their jalapeño poppers. They're the best poppers I've ever had. I believe they are coated in potato breading and they have an awesome zing to them. Never had a popper like it and I'll always compare others to the ones at Timbers. For lunch/dinner, their hamburgers are incredible as well. Super juicy smash burgers on a fluffy bun with the best French fries in the world. A perfect pick me up during snowmobile season or on a nice summer day. On Friday, this is THE spot for fish fry. My family and I have tried so many fish fry places over the year trying to find our favorite, and each time we stray we always leave disappointed wishing we would've just got Timbers instead. To me, what makes their fish fry so great is their portions are extremely generous, you get 4 pieces of fish, a handful of fries, two slices of buttered rye bread, coleslaw, tartar sauce, and a lemon wedge. The way their fish is prepared and battered is my favorite. It doesn't have that super thick, almost pancake batter like breading that tastes like a corn dog. Instead it's very lightly breaded so that it's fish forward with a nice crunch. This is just my preference, but to me, it's the best fish fry I've ever had. I genuinely love this place so much, but I must say that it's obviously super crowded and loud during the tourist seasons. If that bothers you, you can always call in a takeout order so don't like that deter you from checking this place out!

The place was busy but not packed. We grabbed a hightop with lake views and perused the menu. The adults ordered old fashioneds ($5.50) and the kiddos had kiddie cocktails ($2), plus an appetizer of mini corn dogs ($8.50) as we were all starving. From there the adults ordered "Greg's Taco Wrap" ($11) and the Walleye Fingers Basket ($10.50) and the kiddos ordered from the kids menu with a 9" Cheese Pizza ($5.95) and a Hamburger with Fries ($4.95) with cheese (not sure if we were up-charged for that). Note, water is self serve by the front door. The food all came out quickly and were very large servings. I couldn't believe how many fries came with the kids meal! The Taco Wrap was the highlight of the meal, but it was all delicious. Nitpick would be a lighter batter on the walleye fingers, but it was still good. We ended our meal with the kiddos playing some of the arcade games, which were surprisingly only $1 a play. My only regret is I wish I would have ordered the duck wontons. Next time!
