I have to say I'm not a major Burger person , But this place won best burger in Wisconsin. Dear lord I orded a Cowboy from hell. med, rare it was cook perfect . Burger had smoked bacon, Jalapeños, pepperjack cheese , grilled onions , On this soft sweet bun . I think it was potato bun. Service was fantastic , Owner is a ex Marine, got to talking to him . He gave up his pay to put on a event on Sunday to left feed his neighbors in town who were losing Thier SNAP benefits. Like he said no matter what side of the coin your on . People deserve to eat . Had to give him a extra $20 to help with a few plates of food for this event. Any ways the food was great best Burger any were. We sat outside with our dogs on the USS Pickles pontoon boat with them . Weather was low 50's so In Upper Wisconsin end of October it was great. Going up north in Wisconsin Pickles is a must . They have an excellent fish fry on Friday, but why expand your menu when what you cook is perfect. The pickles are really great as well. We had 5 people at our table, three different desired cooks on our burgers, and every burger came exactly as requested, mediums, medium rares, and medium well. We went on a Saturday around 1030am before they opened and there was already people waiting. We were seated promptly and it is a very small interior so if expect a wait if you don't get there early. THE HYPE IS REAL. Not only do they have the best burgers we have tasted- they have the best fries ever too!!! The fries are homemade and salted to perfection. Burgers all were unique and so delicious. Best burger flavor ever, juicy, meaty, just wow! Bun is great as well. True to to their name- they have amazing pickles !!!! In regular form and fried pickle form. All amazing. Bloody Mary- presentation and toppings wonderful. The mix was very seasoned and very thick. It was not our favorite. I think the only thing that was lacking was there was only one waitress for all the tables and I felt bad she was running around and seemed very new. Might have been an off day. Well, the hype was in the air. Bold statements, awards and all that. I was in the area, so you know I have to go and give a reality review. The ambiance was very much Up North Wisconsin, and of course I love that. The service is very friendly, and so were the patrons. Heck, we even had a whole corner of the bar I deemed Racine Co. Only Area. :) The food was very good. The wife ordered the All American Burger I believe, and I ordered the Jalapeno Popper Burger. The patties are very flavorful, the fries are hot, crisp and delicious. Both burgers were cooked perfectly (medium rare), and the toppings were high quality. My burger was an array of sweet, spicy, smokey, and creamy cheesy! The wife liked her burger, but the purple onion made her breath fire for literally two days. Soaking those bad boys would help tame the fuel for the fire. I would absolutely return and try other items. Great job Pickles!!! First time to visit this bar & grill & was quite impressed. Very friendly with fast service. We had a round of bloody Mary's which come in 3 versions: whiskey, regular & more zesty. They came with a shorty beer from Rhinelader brewery. 3 of us got the haddock fish fry which was the best fish I've ever had. Homemade tarter sauce had a dill flavor along with the light fish breading which was both very good. I got potatoe pancakes with my fish & hubby had their homemade chips. Reasonable priced & we will be back! Highly recommend but get there early if you don't want to wait for a table. Moe was our waitress & she was entertaining & quite pleasant ... the General Manager. Wife and I went to Pickles because it was a good halfway point between our home in Tomahawk and my brother and sister-in-law's place in minocqua since we were meeting for lunch. We got there right at noon and the bartender seemed pretty grumpy. I get it. Unlock the door and there's customers already. Very happy to say that it didn't take long before he turned his mood around and became very friendly. Excellent service after that. Wife had a Bloody Mary that came with a huge assortment of garnish. For lunch she had the burger of the month which was a huge burger with jalapeños and a cream cheese spread topped with a blueberry jam and candied bacon. She said it was wonderful. I had a BLT which was loaded with 1/2 pound of bacon. So good. Sis-in-law has the brisket dip sandwich. She said it was great and the accompanying horseradish sauce was excellent. Brother loved his burger and fries. Can't wait to get back there again. Hats off to our bartender and chef. read more

Be warned Yelp fans... totally unpredictable. We read good things, and 5 of us stopped in on a Saturday night for a meal around 7pm, and walked into a maelstrom. Head banging music with lots of screaming was blaring so loud you couldn't think. A group of 7 or 8 guys and one girl were " banging" their heads to the beat... or whatever this crowd does. And we grew up on rock n roll. This stuff was obnoxious. Headed to the back room, unfortunately still too close to the noise, but better. We sat down, and seeing no waitress, one of us headed to the bar to ask and menus. Bad idea. The bartender began to scream at my friend, something about " what the f...k do you want?" Then when he saw the shocked reaction, then screamed ( and I mean not nicely) " Im just f....king with you... I'm the owner" My friend took the menus ( u witnessed the second half of the screaming...it was nasty) and took them back to the table. Then, we made the right decision, and left. I've been in lots of bars, even during my college years in La Crosse, and never experienced even anything remotely this crass and rude. I read in one of the reviews that the owner was from Milwaukee.
