Lots of parking which might be really needed during the tourist season. Tonight's meal was so so. Was attracted to this place because it had a salad bar. Sadly a number of the offerings were gone, or almost gone. It needed attention! The special tonight was a Rib eye with a baked potato. The Rib Eye was cooked well and had decent seasoning, but the cut of meat was not very good. The cut quality was closer to what I'd expect at steak buffet than at a sit down restaurant. (Could very well have been just bad luck) but when you pay restaurant price for a nice steak you don't expect to get a bad one. It is still the "off" season, but this restaurant just seemed to be understaffed. I ate at the bar and the one bartender was working his but off. But waiting until he was done making drinks to get get butter for my potato (came without any) and salt and pepper got a but trying. Also getting an empty bottle of A1 Sauce was not impressive. Hopefully they have more staff when the real crowds get to town.

It's larger than it looks from the outside with a nice open concept with a u-shaped bar. Significant amount of seating off of the bar as well; both high and low tops. Came here for fish fry on a Friday night and it was packed by 5p. They have a few different options for fish that you can have broiled or fried, along with a variety of potato options. I especially enjoyed the red potatoes. Plentiful portions for the price and the food came out hot and fairly quick. Parking lot is large enough to accommodate the crowds and their sign says they have live music/entertainment every Sunday afternoon/evening. Jukebox, pool table, darts and clean bathrooms.

I bow to his observation and will modify my statement to read that it is the consensus of SEVERAL locals that this is the best fish fry in town!) It's not often that a restaurant that is a part of a hotel gets rave reviews, and in many of the hostelries I've stayed in over the years, the restaurant was an afterthought. Not here! The restaurant is quite popular with residents of Rhinelander along with the hotel guests. I've been at The Claridge Inn (The Days Inn these days) on Fridays, and at the recommendation of relatives, I've always had the fish fry. They also offer baked haddock, one of my fellow diners ordered the haddock. She reported the dish was excellent. My beer battered cod was also excellent, a crispy shell with cod of a perfect consistency. The meal is offered with french fries, I opted to spend an extra dollar to substitute potato pancakes. The potato pancakes were also exceptional. Rhinelander has a number of really good restaurants, the Claridge is most certainly one of them.
