Stopped here on a Saturday afternoon just before dinner to find the bar was full but the dining room was empty. They have extra high-top seating in the bar area for when the 20 or so bar stools are occupied. I would guess that the dining area seats around 50 people. It took a little longer for service than it should have, considering there were multiple bartenders plus multiple dining/cooking staff in plain sight. Felt like we had to waive service down each time. Service was friendly once you caught their attention. We ordered the Reuben rolls (Reuben ingredients in egg roll form) that apparently came with your option of champagne mustard or thousand island dressing but we never received the option. Four small rolls seemed stingy for the price. We followed that up with a gyro burger (side of pre-packaged kettle chips) and baja shrimp tacos (side of German potato salad). The burger was incredibly flavorful and cooked perfectly. It came topped with cucumber and tomato slices, and a few slices of olives hidden in the tzatziki sauce. The bun was soft and (mostly) held together till the end. The two shrimp tacos lacked moisture, either from sauce or the coleslaw mixture that was on it. The shrimp was also deep-fried which we didn't expect. The German potato salad was decent, a little on the sweet side. Overall we found the prices to be steep for the portions we received. read more

I love the smalltown feel I get when I walk into this pub. Everyone is so friendly! Excellent drinks and food!! We gather with friends every Tuesday for "wing night" and always have a great time. Went for fish fry Friday. Food was amazing, service not so much. We were seated at a table in the back dining room and waited for over 20 minutes, finally flagging down a waitress who said it wasn't here table but she'd find out who's table it was. How about apologizing, taking our order and then handing it to who ever was our waitperson? We were served promptly. But then never saw our waitress barely ever again. I had to flag her down to order another beer. By the way, the woman who said we weren't her table WAS our waitress. Incidentally, this isn't a huge restaurant by any means so the fact she seemed so busy to not be great at service baffled me. He menu looked incredibly creative for a "pub n' eatery". We stuck to the Friday fish specials and were not disappointed. I ordered the baked haddock and my partner the fried haddock and shrimp. We both loved our meals. Now if only they could fix the service issue. This is the only reason I can't give this place 5 stars. read more

So food was just ok, we were excited about the unique options offered but once we received the food we were underwhelmed...just meh. The reason for the one star is that this restaurant is doing something pretty shady to add to their bottom line. They basically sneak in an added "credit surcharge" if you don't pay cash. And it's 3.5% of your bill!! That's way more than a standard MS or VISA transaction fee charged to a biz. Never once did they let us know that this charge would be added, and to top it off we used a DEBIT card!! Still charged the fee. When we were directed to the owner, she pretended like she was just an employee and told us to write down our info so she could pass it along (ie toss it). Needless to say, we won't be going back. read more

My family and I love coming to Shamrock when we go up north. And if we are in town on a Friday, you'd better believe we are going to Shamrock for fish! Their fish fry is among the best I've ever had. Super crispy, flavorful breading that holds onto the fish for dear life, so that the fish doesn't fall apart and flake away from the breading when you cut it with your fork. This makes for optimal tarter sauce dipping. If fish isn't your thing, they also have yummy flatbreads (the chicken pesto is AMAZING,) as well as burgers, pasta, etc, and you really can't go wrong with any of these options. This place is usually hopping on a Friday night, so be prepared to come early or have to wait. My fam and I usually cozy up to the bar to eat our meals. This guarantees fast drink refills, and those bartenders know how to pour a good drink! I often order wine, and I like how they pour the wine from single serving bottles. I imagine not many people order wine here, so this practice ensures that your wine is fresh. The Shamrock is the perfect, small town bar and restaurant. Absolutely love the food at the Shamrock! If you have children however, do not order the chicken tenders. They cost $10 for four frozen fried tenders. Other than that I find the quality of the food to be exceptional. A good value for what you get. read more

My family went to the Shanrock Pub last night for dinner. It was absolutely amazing. I had the Sunday special, all you can eat fried chicken with German potato salad. The chicken was incredible, crispy outside but the meat was so juicy it was melt in your mouth tender. My wife had the Gyro burger. It was the perfect blend of lamb and beef. The meat was perfectly seasoned and cooked. The Tzatziki sauce was amazing as well, creamy and flavorful without being overpowering. The wait staff was fast and efficent. 10/10 will go there again. read more

They have a good selection of food to choose from, with each option having its own succulent qualities. The first time I went there with my family, we instantly found a new favorite restaurant. Lunch last Monday before our drive to Wausau to catch our flight early the next day. Ordered the special of the day Fried Chicken, All four of us ordered the same thing and we all enjoyed it. We eat here about three times a month, usually on Friday. They have a different seafood special every Friday in addition to several usual seafood options. I usually get the special and whatever it is, its always awesome! The menu is so varied that anyone who eats will find something they love. Anything from burgers and fries to foods with an ethnic flavor such as tai or Greek. We will never go back to the Shamrock Pub again. The service was absolutely awful! We ordered 2 meals and 2 pizzas (one plain cheese and one sausage and olive) for 6 people. After an extraordinary amount of time, the 2 meals and 1 pizza (sausage and olive) was brought to our table, however, not the cheese pizza. Server asked us if we wanted a second sausage and olive pizza as the kitchen had made 2 of those and not a cheese pizza. When we said no, we wanted the cheese pizza, she acted very disgusted and said "it would be out in just a couple of minutes". After 25 minutes, the cheese pizza was finally brought to our table and everyone at the table except the 2 eating the cheese pizza had already finished with their meals. When we asked if they were going to remove the cheese pizza from the bill given their error, server very rudely said no, that she was only going to take 50% of it off, even though it was their mistake. Server also never came back to the table to inquire if we needed more drinks or how the food was. Service at this establishment stinks and we will never come back here again. If you enjoy good service when you dine out, this is NOT the place for you. read more

I was very surprised to find this good fish fry. I had the fried perch with potato pancakes, both very good. We were seated immediately at about 6:45 pm, within three minutes, Jordan took our order and we were served eight minutes later.
