This week, while doing laundry at the local place in Woodruff, I walked down the street to the closest place I could find to get some lunch. Fritz's was open.... being a bar I had my doubts.... and I walked in. First of all, no cigarett smoke. Even though I was by myself, I felt perfectly at ease sitting at the bar. I was given the food choices (no menu) and selected pound burger with pepper cheese. Accompanied of course by a glass of a local Wisconsin beer on tap. I took one bite and said to myself, what have I found! Crazy good burger. Bun was toasted and perfectly crispy. Ample amount of cheese. Onions served raw or grilled. Meat was juicy. Next time we were in town, I took my husband and he thought the same thing. A glass of draft beer and two burgers came to a total of $10. I left a $3 tip. I was that impressed. Our waitress was clearly flustered by the crowd but still did a great job. We ordered the crab rangoon pizza for an app and it was so good. Loved the hot honey crust! For our meals we had the Black and Bleu burger, coconut shrimp, Italian beef, and a kids corn dog. Everything was exactly as we hoped coming to an up north bar/grill.

Nice big chunks of walleye with a very good coating. I upgraded to the regular onion rings. These were perfectly cooked and had a great crunch to complement the ring of onion on the inside. They didn't bother us or other patrons in yhe dining area but their banging beer bottles on the bar, extremely loud conversation and occasional chanting should have proved that their service should have been cut off.
