Carried out lunch on a Saturday. Excellent across the board. 15 minutes from call to pick up. Packaged well to keep food warm and crispy. In and out in no time. Seems like a fun place to grab a beer at the bar and watch a game. Absolutely loved their fries. They're a unique "V" cut crinkle fry. Never seen one like it before. Tasty onion rings and good slaw. We only got patty melts as a main sandwich but would certainly recommend and go back to get it again. Overall, would highly recommend. Is it 5-star downtown Chicago fine dining? No. But if you're looking for simple, easy, tasty, well executed bar food in the north woods - this is the place for you. read more

Stopped in and sat at the bar. Received prompt and friendly service. Drinks were good and cold. Bloody Mary was average, a little on the acidic side but otherwise good. Appetizers were good and fast. Cheese curds are the delicious white cheddar kind. Chicken breast sandwich was your average good sandwich. Interior is very fun and there's something to look at everywhere. I am basing this simply on a carry out order and my time talking with the bartender and some clients while waiting for it to come out. This is the only reason that I didn't give a full 5 stars. I'll update on my next trip. Service was great. The bartender was congenial and extremely helpful. The clientele was warm and friendly. The food was delicious!!! I had a fabulous 1/4# Thunderbird Burger and my daughter had the tasty chicken tenders that she marveled were the size of chicken cutlets! Great! read more

Absolutely avoid this dump! The idiot cook or manager or whoever he was came screaming at us while we were waiting for a table because someone else asked the server to clean a table. when we told him it wasn't us, he screamed more and said that he didn't care, and we needed to settle down. Honestly that man shouldn't be in ANY service industry and if he owns the bar it should be closed. No excuses for that garbage when we were polite and did nothing wrong! I get it that you're short staffed but for the sake of the business you're running you don't scream at the wrong person and tell them you don't care. read more

We stopped in here during a snowmobile trip. There is a large bar and then an area with a few high tables and a pool table. We only had a beer and a small pizza. The beer selection was a little boring and the pizza was nothing special although it did hit the spot late afternoon. read more

Stopped in here on the way through town. Always up for trying a new place. The bartender was beyond cordial and very helpful. The food was a great change from the normal "bar food". Just a little something "extra" like the homemade fries and the pretzel fries, which we had to order a second round of. We tried breasted chicken, the shrimp, and pizza. We are excited to go back and try some other menu items. When we walked in, obviously looking lost, the friendly patrons told us we can seat ourselves. The bartender came over and greeted us and explained we were supposed to order at the bar. Being our first time there, we had no idea. Stopped in here for lunch while biking along the trail. Traditional Northwoods place. My family and I ordered the cheese curds, pizza fries, cheeseburger, and brat and all were delicious. Went there with our UTV, Memorial Day week-end. There were nine of us on our machines. We were coming from Sugar Camp. Drinks were good, bar service was friendly and good. We split a pizza and it was not that great, just a bar pizza. When we asked how to get into the rest of the town, the Manager came out and gave us directions. He was loud and boisterous to some of the other patrons yelling across the room. We asked about how to get to the north side of town (which isn't possible) he should have told us there was no way from there. We followed his directions and we got a $232.00 ticket following his poor advice. The Sheriff made us turn around and go back in the same direction we came from. It was a real crap ride ruined our week-end fun. Never going back there again! read more

We just went there for lunch on a whim and were pleasantly surprised. The service was excellent and we both ordered the Thunderbird burger with its special sauce. I have a hard time finding places in Northern Wisconsin that are bad places. This place is a fun place. The building is very cool. I described it to my friend as a fisherman bar, though I'm sure that fishing has nothing to do with it. The interior is pretty cool, a super long bar with a low ceiling and its got a video poker, arcades, and a pool table. Also, entertainment such a karaoke and the people seem to be happy here. Lots of regulars and out of towners (such as myself). They make good bloody mary's with lots of veggies in it and they have a pretty decent beer selection. Also, last time I was in there was a bar dog looking for scraps. I like the atmosphere here even if I'm just an out of towner, it makes me feel like I'm a cheesehead. read more
