We had SO much fun at Outback 51! We went during the day, around 4:30, so it was empty enough that we were able to go in the corner and social distance at our two tables. I had to knock it down a star because there were literally ZERO Covid precautions. We're from the city and used to wearing masks everywhere and we walked in with masks on and everyone looked at us like we were crazy. Not even the bartenders or servers were wearing masks even though there's a state mandate. Other than the safety aspect, it was genuinely a great time. Everyone was very friendly and there was live music and karaoke. It was definitely a small town dive bar feel and was an absolute blast. We were mostly there for drinks, but we did get the spinach and artichoke dip as a snack and it was delicious! There was also a really nice patio out back that had games. read more

Ok, I've seen many advertisements for this bar and grill. I've wanted to try it and had my opportunity the other night. What a mistake. I'll just tell you this. If I would have seen this before eating I would have walked out. The men's restroom is across the hallway fron the kitchen. Cases of canned goods were at the end of the hall just a few feet away. The men's room was atrocious. A large open garbage can was there for used paper towels. It was only a quarter full yet half of the floor was covered with the used paper towels. Thw worst part of it is that in a corner of the room was a big puddle of urine. It smelled so bad in there. The mens room was obviously frequented by the half dozen drunk patrons at the bar. They didn't bother us or other patrons in yhe dining area but their banging beer bottles on the bar, extremely loud conversation and occasional chanting should have proved that their service should have been cut off. But the blonde bimbo bartender obviously saw nothine but more tips with more beers. I give this joints a Minus 5. Never again for the Outback on 51 in Woodruff WI. read more

This has to be one of the worst run bar/restaurants in the Northwoods. Full of low class drunks and complete confusion from employees. This is sad because they do have a good fish fry. Your kids will hear language that made me cringe. Stay Away read more

Was there tonight 9l23/23 There's a new cook in town and believe me the food was awesome! I had walleye fingers basket with Fry's and the walleye was excellent and plenty of it! Fry's are awesome just needed to be a little crispier. My husband had the full slab with twice baked potato served in a dish that he said was wonderful and ribs were wonderful and the veges on side were excellent also! We will be back! First visit to Outback 51, we've driven by 100's of times and never stopped. Not the case anymore, we'll definitely be back soon. It was a pleasure meeting Ron, the owner and discussing his new passion of Coleman lantern s and vintage outboard motors. He's had the place for about 5 years and he's pouring his heart & soul into creating a pleasurable dining and drinking experience. I'd say he's succeeding, the food was excellent, service was timely and efficient, and the adult beverages were excellent and reasonable. We split the Friday Fish Fry combo platter - oh my, the two of us could hardly finish it. I tried the house Bloody Mary, decorated with a boiled egg, beef stick, olive, mushroom, dill pickle spear and a jumbo pretzel stick. Served with a beer chaser, this is one of the best Bloody Mary's I've had in the Northwoods. Stop in and check out Outback 51 and enjoy, we sure did. Once upon of time the food of this place was ok but I can't get over the rudeness of the owners. They consistently belittle customers and literally pick fights with them. I've seen the owners beat on each other and fights often break out at their establishment. read more

Understandable that they are short staffed. We waited 90 min for our food. The waitress was rude when we asked how much longer after waiting an hour. Appetizer took forever! The drinks were good, the bar was full for a weeknight but the food was not so impressive for bar food. Had high hopes for this place because the place is very nice inside but the beer was flat, the burgers came out rare. Had to send them back and and they were still pretty pink but just ate them anyway. Their credit card system only gives you the option to tip 20% 25% or 30%. Wont go back. Checked this place out during a recent Packer's game and really enjoyed it! We shared the potstickers appetizer, and the fried pickle spears appetizer and both were good! We also had the bourbon bbq burger and this was truly great. The sauce was not too sweet or gloppy, and the burger was juicy. They also have homemade fries that were tasty! This is a fun Northwoods bar with a mix of locals, second home people and tourists. The owners are a hardworking married couple. The food is solid and the service is good. This is not Culvers or McDonalds - it is a bar. If you are looking for a $10 drink and uptight people from the Chicago suburbs , go a few miles south. If you get offended by hardworking people blowing off some steam, go elsewhere. The conversation may not always be rated G. If you would rather smell your beer and talk about the special hops blend than drink it, go elsewhere. Single worst restaurant experience of my life. Went here after baseball with our kids on a recommendation. This is NOT a family friendly place. Patrons were incredibly foul mouthed and when we asked them to stop we were told "don't bring your kids to a bar". It is apparently more acceptable to be extremely intoxicated at 8:30 on a Tuesday than to bring kids to a place that advertises as a restaurant. The bartender did nothing to defuse this situation and was part of the problem. We had to leave as we felt that they were trying to start a fight with us. Absolutely ridiculous and unacceptable. No one should be over-served is much and the bartender should be liable for these people driving home. This may not be the owners fault as they weren't there but they are responsible for who they leave in charge. read more

I didn't really want to go to eat, just went for the conversation, but I was soooo hungry so I figured Id order something that really wasnt hard to mess up, I ordered the appetizer tray which is a lil bit of each appetizer they sell, it was inedible,the mushrooms were soggy and tasted like how dirty feet smell, the mozz curds were cooked so long there was no cheese inside and the poppers, ...well lets just say my neighbors dog wouldnt even eat it and he eats strait up garbage. I put it out on a tree stump and its been there over a week, not one animal has touched it, and some eat roadkill. I went with two friends, 1 friend also ordered food and it came out completely burnt and his beer was warm.. so he was not wanting to pay for inedible food and piss beer which is completely understandable...so he mentioned to the server that he would like to speak to someone regarding his bill then a person came over who was obviously intoxicated and immediately started to threaten him and call him names whom was later found out to be the owner, who told my friend that "this isnt Burger King and this isnt Your Way! It's my bar, my way and you f****** pay for what you f****** order and you can F*** off after that!" Needless to say we werent about to deal with all the b.s... so we threw down half of the bill and left. Will never be back, will never recommend this place to anyone.... read more

I have lived in the area for 18 years, this is by far the worse experience I have ever had and I even went back a second time to make sure the first time there was just chalked up to a bad night. We were just there this month and it was a horrible experience. The bartenders which happened to be the owners were fighting and arguing with eachother in front of the bar, on a Friday during dinner hours ,really inappropriate and unprofessional. It made us and the people next to us uncomfortable. Our cocktails were average. We sat down for food and the presentation wasn't good and looked sloppy, it came out cold and soggy looking. Thrown into a dirty looking basket and disholved. We had to ask for new silverware because ours was dirty. Our waitress seemed young , inexperienced and didn't know specials or what was going on. On a Friday night! The bathrooms were really dirty and smelled disgusting. People at the bar were clearly overserved and loud/foul for dinner hours. Came in for dinner, had grandson and great grandmother with us. Probably 6 at night. Some drunk on the patio started pounding on the door to get back in. Well no wait staff went over to let her in. I went over and tried several times to lock & unlock the door to get it open, couldn't. Shrugged my shoulders, sorry... she kept pounding on the door so we couldn't enjoy our dinner. Husband went over and tried too....both locking and unlocking the door, no luck. Drunk continues pounding and yelling...... bartender FINALY went over and knowing the trick to get the door open let her and family in. She came in with her family wanting to pick a fight with us. Drunk and stupid, the bartender tells her we had the door locked...no help at all defusing her. She bellies up to the bar and they continue to bash us. Totally unacceptable, horrible atmosphere making dinner miserable. Never again. Avoid this place. read more

Went in this "place" with my wife, I could not believe the conduct of the bartender "ron" and the drunks at the bar. They basically eyed up my wife and called out rude and disgusting comments. We got a table that was horribly dirty. After a few minutes we decided to leave just to avoid some type of fight. We stopped there on the sleds to grab lunch and it was so good we stopped with the truck trailer on the way home. The bar tender was a good dude. They were out of crown apple and he offered to have someone run to the LC to get a bottle. The guy who I'm assuming was the owner was very nice and went out of his way to make sure our visit was good. He seemed like a real stickler about his food. This place is a solid three stars. It's bar food, nothing spectacular. I came on a not so busy Saturday afternoon. Service was prompt. I had a $9 grilled chicken salad with generous amount of chicken, orange vinegarette. Iceberg lettuce, shredded cheese and tomato. definitely a huge profit margin for the business...The vinegarette was very very oily without much citrus or vinegar to cut the grease. Opt for another dressing. Honey had grilled chicken wrap. Again, generous chicken portions, very oily and with the sauce the wrap was wet. The chipotle sauce was good a little sweet, more like a bbq sauce. The fries were the disappointment of the meal, shoestring-esque, greasy, and soft. read more

The pizza place was packed so thought we would try this place. Waitress wasn't sure of beer brands but brought us good cold beer. Food was decent, burgers, greasy fries, great onion rings. Here is where it went downhill. Someone intentionally locked out customers/drunks out on the deck. While the waitress was taking our order, they started knocking on the door to get in. She got that deer in the headlights look and never went to open it. Yes, then she walked off after stating "I wonder what's wrong?". My wife attempted to then let them in with no luck. They kept knocking. I got up and attempted to let them in, no luck. They kept knocking. Finally someone from the other side of the bar came over, got the door opened and told them it was just locked. Well then they unleashed on me. Another waitress came over to apologize and said they had been there since noon. It was 6 pm now and they were still being served. I always leave a tip, never less than 10% but usually 20-25%. I told the bartender I wasn't leaving a tip at all and told him this story and he got the same look in his eyes and said nothing. I don't care how your food tastes, when you have idiots working for you, it reflects on the entire business effort. This place is full of them. Stay away. read more
