Cool bar and atmosphere to hang out and warm up off the trail. Small menu- but large portions! Bartender was on point and very friendly.

This is the haddock filet (broiled) with a baked potato. Cocktail of choice was Titos and soda with lemon whish was also good.

This is the 3rd time coming to this place. The food is good and the staff is friendly. Definitely a place to come to when you're in the area. The band playing last night reminded me of Chris Stapleton. We stayed for a little while after dinner to listen to them. Menu is small but great options to choose from. There were 3 of us and we had a burger, fish sandwich and an Italian sausage and pepper sandwich. Delicious! Their fries and onion rings with homemade ranch on the side are delicious. Will definitely be back!

Beet & goat cheese salad. Delicious!

They had crackers and spreadable cheese at the bar. 100% so far. We were seated and orders placed. Salad bar was phenomenal. Soups were great. I ordered prime rib and wife orederd the flounder. I'm 50, been eating steaks and prime rib all over WI. This was the worst prime rib I've ever had. I ate half, didn't make a big deal and would pay for it. I told the waitress (she was amazing) my thoughts. Bill came out, charged full price, no apologies, nothing. Fine, we paid and will not be back. It is a shame since prime rib is in their name. It was ordered medium rare and I asked it to be to the rare side, it was medium to the well done side....disappointed.

The only good part of our visit then was our waitress and the food. Due to weather we ended up here tonight. The bartender was the best part of our night. Lynn was fantastic. Friendly. Professional. We discovered she had also been our waitress five years ago too. Now to the food today. The worst prawns I have ever had. Over done, dry and tough not to mention so small. They offered to substitute a small prime rib for the prawns because it could be ready faster. A bit dry but edible.

They were already pretty busy and not serving in the beer garden. They had some great local beers on tap. I asked the bartender, how to get food if sitting outside. She said the grill was pretty backed up and pizza was our best bet. I ordered two Muskie Bites and a Pub Special pizza (without peppers). We sat in the beer garden with our puppy. A family sat nearby. Their young girl entering first grade, showered our puppy with attention. I ordered a White Legs (a jalapeño wheat ale), also on tap - excellent! The bartender Ambee brought the pizza out herself. It was really great - and without the green peppers as ordered. We were quite pleased. She was once of those servers that you have to admire. Professional, didn't dawdle, acknowledged my presence while waiting at the bar, when it was my turn to be served, she was quickly informative. Turns out she gave great advice on the pizza. She answered our questions about the Friday fish fry when delivering the pizza. Great service and food, local beers on tap. Dog friendly- we will be back.

I've been frequenting Timbers every Friday for their fish fry for the last 8+ years or so. To me,…read morethey have the best fish fry in the north woods by far, and it proves that you don't have to go to a fancy supper club to get good eats. The ambiance is a typical north woods bar, you can either eat at the bar or sit at one of the tables in their 'dining room' which houses the slot machines, dart board, and a few other games for kids. They have a wide selection of brews on tap, and have a full bar. The thing that I really love about this place is that everyone who works here is extremely nice. You can tell they love what they do, they're proud of where they live, and they have great senses of humor. Just overall great conversationalists. Now to the food, my favorite part: For appetizers, you HAVE to try their jalapeño poppers. They're the best poppers I've ever had. I believe they are coated in potato breading and they have an awesome zing to them. Never had a popper like it and I'll always compare others to the ones at Timbers. For lunch/dinner, their hamburgers are incredible as well. Super juicy smash burgers on a fluffy bun with the best French fries in the world. A perfect pick me up during snowmobile season or on a nice summer day. On Friday, this is THE spot for fish fry. My family and I have tried so many fish fry places over the year trying to find our favorite, and each time we stray we always leave disappointed wishing we would've just got Timbers instead. To me, what makes their fish fry so great is their portions are extremely generous, you get 4 pieces of fish, a handful of fries, two slices of buttered rye bread, coleslaw, tartar sauce, and a lemon wedge. The way their fish is prepared and battered is my favorite. It doesn't have that super thick, almost pancake batter like breading that tastes like a corn dog. Instead it's very lightly breaded so that it's fish forward with a nice crunch. This is just my preference, but to me, it's the best fish fry I've ever had. I genuinely love this place so much, but I must say that it's obviously super crowded and loud during the tourist seasons. If that bothers you, you can always call in a takeout order so don't like that deter you from checking this place out!
