I've been wanting to stop in here for a while. There are a lot of mixed reviews for Pub' n Prime which made it hard for me to figure out if I should give it a try. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Pub' n Prime is pretty old school looking. I love the mid-century modern looking decor that meets northwoods.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]There is a cool outside tiki bar that we didn't take advantage of but it was going strong out there.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] My party sat at the bar for a drink. Cheese spread and crackers on the bar. Very nice. Standard Wisconsin drinks including ice cream drinks are available as well as tropical "slushy" drinks. The staff was great! Super friendly. We had curds and onion strings for appetizers. There were enough for the 5 of us. Our server, Mary was helpful with the menu and we ordered Broasted Chicken...1/2 a chicken. Very moist. Light crunchy breading. Ribs. Nice big slab of fall off (with a nudge) the bone. Nice sweet sauce. Orange Whisky Chicken. A boneless breast grilled and served in a sweet orange sauce. Shrimp. Fried. Pretty basic but good. Prim Rib. It was reported to be a bit salty but it looked good. The sides of asparagus could have been a bit bigger but they were prepared well and tasted good. One of the nicest things is the salad bar of which one trip is included with each entree. Two soups, bread, rolls, green salad mix with all the extras, pasta salad, bean salad, nice choice of dressings. It's great to have salad bars making a comeback. We ordered one piece of homemade Carrot Cake for dessert and it was fabulous! [[HIGHLIGHT]]And on top of being a very clean restaurant the bathrooms were also very nice![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Pub' n Prime is worth a try. We will bring the family back.

We wanted a supper club on a Sunday and that is a hard find in the north woods. I am so glad we went to pub n prime. My filet was not in expensive but it was awesome. I ate it with mushrooms and the juice from my wife's prime rib. Her prime rib was great. The salad bar hit the spot too. The bartender was friendly, as was our waitress. The owner was so nice. 10 out of 10!!!

$2 Margarita Monday! Love the tiki bar option. We stopped for a few drinks and a late afternoon snack of shredded onion rings- they were delicious. Not greasy and perfectly seasoned. The outdoor tiki bar/patio is a fun, lively, but chill hang. Great spirits, good food, fun people.

The prime rib bites were very good, but overall the food was very average, and overpriced for the quality. Service was slow, but friendly.

To me,…read morethey have the best fish fry in the north woods by far, and it proves that you don't have to go to a fancy supper club to get good eats. The ambiance is a typical north woods bar, you can either eat at the bar or sit at one of the tables in their 'dining room' which houses the slot machines, dart board, and a few other games for kids. They have a wide selection of brews on tap, and have a full bar. The thing that I really love about this place is that everyone who works here is extremely nice. You can tell they love what they do, they're proud of where they live, and they have great senses of humor. Just overall great conversationalists. Now to the food, my favorite part: For appetizers, you HAVE to try their jalapeño poppers. They're the best poppers I've ever had. I believe they are coated in potato breading and they have an awesome zing to them. Never had a popper like it and I'll always compare others to the ones at Timbers. For lunch/dinner, their hamburgers are incredible as well. Super juicy smash burgers on a fluffy bun with the best French fries in the world. A perfect pick me up during snowmobile season or on a nice summer day. On Friday, this is THE spot for fish fry. My family and I have tried so many fish fry places over the year trying to find our favorite, and each time we stray we always leave disappointed wishing we would've just got Timbers instead. To me, what makes their fish fry so great is their portions are extremely generous, you get 4 pieces of fish, a handful of fries, two slices of buttered rye bread, coleslaw, tartar sauce, and a lemon wedge. The way their fish is prepared and battered is my favorite. It doesn't have that super thick, almost pancake batter like breading that tastes like a corn dog. Instead it's very lightly breaded so that it's fish forward with a nice crunch. This is just my preference, but to me, it's the best fish fry I've ever had. I genuinely love this place so much, but I must say that it's obviously super crowded and loud during the tourist seasons. If that bothers you, you can always call in a takeout order so don't like that deter you from checking this place out!

They were already pretty busy and not serving in the beer garden. They had some great local beers on tap. I asked the bartender, how to get food if sitting outside. A family sat nearby. Their young girl entering first grade, showered our puppy with attention. I ordered a White Legs (a jalapeño wheat ale), also on tap - excellent! The bartender Ambee brought the pizza out herself. It was really great - and without the green peppers as ordered. We were quite pleased. She was once of those servers that you have to admire. Professional, didn't dawdle, acknowledged my presence while waiting at the bar, when it was my turn to be served, she was quickly informative. Turns out she gave great advice on the pizza. I mention this to give credit to the female bartender who was hustling her tail off. Once seated she came over and took our drink order. THE ONLY NEGATIVE THING I WILL SAY ABOUT THIS PLACE IS THERE WAS NO DRINK MENU. Our gin and tonic, brandy old fashioned, white Zinfandel, and Bloody Mary with a chaser came out extremely fast. A perch dinner, beer battered fish fry, chicken tender, and a classic burger were ordered. We waited about 20 minutes for our food to arrive. My 3 piece beer battered cod was flaky and not greasy. My husband's perch came with 2 large filets and he said he really liked it. Chicken tenders are chicken tenders and hard to mess up haha. My dad said his burger was flavorful and juicy. For all 4 of us ordering food and having alcoholic beverages, our bill came to a little over $100. The bartender thanked us for our patience since she was the only person working, but we didn't feel we ever waited a long period for anything. Will definitely be back.

In a little less than an hour we were seated, the dining area only has about 12 tables which is why there is typically a long wait. Our server was nice, very vanilla, not exceptionally friendly but she did her job well. We all ordered some type of steak with scallops, salad, baked potentates. Service was fairly quick. Honestly all three of us thought the steaks were good, not exceptional and they all lacked flavor. The scallops for all of us were overcooked. Our overall impression was for the cost of entrees which was pricey and the lack of flavor of the steaks and overcooked scallops we would not return. Of note, the bar area is small with a few tables, lots of taxidermy on the walls, super cute.
