The bartender was absolutely a gem and so sweet. Kam or Kal ? I know it was with a K. I lagged on writing this review so I forgot her name. I hope we get waited on again by her ! To start- the Bloody Mary- WOW. Absolutely huge and had awesome flavor. They make their own mix and the toppings were delicious. Loaded with deliciousness!!!! 10/10. Everything our party ordered was so amazing. To start - the bacon appetizer was out of this world, the cheese curds were probably the best I've ever had, and onion strings (again the best ever). From the steak, the walleye, sandwiches, pasta, prime rib, salmon, etc .... OUTSTANDING. Super flavorful and some top notch food. We absolutely cannot wait to go back !!!

We came in. There were a few people at the bar. Two people were at a table. Nobody greeted us, nobody told us where to sit. We asked the guys at the table if we should seat ourselves. They said we could. We sat. We waited, and waited, and waited. No one took a drink order let alone a food order. No one said hello. After 10-15 minutes we got up and walked out. As we were walking out, the bartender yells, "I can take your order." We told him to forget it. We definitely won't recommend it.

The rep and other reviews intrigued me, so away we go. We walked in on a Wednesday, and it was pretty busy! Good sign. I heard all about the horseradish and I had to try it. Greeted, by a fine young man server/bartender, and he was very helpful with what we were looking for. We both got the double smash burger. She had the chips and I got the coleslaw. We both had a Bloody Mary, and I say they are right up there with the best I had. The burger sauce was delicious, the garlic mayo was delicious, and everything was fresh and skillfully made. The coleslaw was excellent and I know this is weird, but I'm a coleslaw fanatic. All the tap beers we had were fresh and tasted so good, it made you want to keep on sippin". Awesome time and experience. Horseradish and Mustard: these two items deserve their own review. Both are sold in house, along with the burger sauce. The server brought us over both with some pretzels. He did warn me, but I never listened to such words of wisdom. Being a horseradish junky, I tried a little fork full on my burger. Well, HELLO! It was good/spicy/hot/and all that. I wanted to try it on the pretzel, to see how it was alone. Took a good chunk and put her on there....took a bite....and ooooh shit....the check engine light came on in my body. I felt like I was being poisoned by toxic mustard gas in WWI. I didn't know whether to cough, puke, gag....I was in the weeds for a good minute. I seen my life flash before me, teleported to the third dimension. I know this sounds like I am a wimp, but I am no such thing. All i can say is, try it for yourself!!! It was a ride I will never forget. The mustard is along the same lines. Kind of like a Chinese mustard. The Bloody Mary was horseradish forward and I tell ya, this is a horseradish junkies paradise. Again, a great time, the Hamm's was the beerefreshing, and I can't wait to go back to the third dimension again. See illustrations for more.

I've been frequenting Timbers every Friday for their fish fry for the last 8+ years or so. To me,…read morethey have the best fish fry in the north woods by far, and it proves that you don't have to go to a fancy supper club to get good eats. The ambiance is a typical north woods bar, you can either eat at the bar or sit at one of the tables in their 'dining room' which houses the slot machines, dart board, and a few other games for kids. They have a wide selection of brews on tap, and have a full bar. The thing that I really love about this place is that everyone who works here is extremely nice. You can tell they love what they do, they're proud of where they live, and they have great senses of humor. Just overall great conversationalists. Now to the food, my favorite part: For appetizers, you HAVE to try their jalapeño poppers. They're the best poppers I've ever had. I believe they are coated in potato breading and they have an awesome zing to them. Never had a popper like it and I'll always compare others to the ones at Timbers. For lunch/dinner, their hamburgers are incredible as well. Super juicy smash burgers on a fluffy bun with the best French fries in the world. A perfect pick me up during snowmobile season or on a nice summer day. On Friday, this is THE spot for fish fry. My family and I have tried so many fish fry places over the year trying to find our favorite, and each time we stray we always leave disappointed wishing we would've just got Timbers instead. To me, what makes their fish fry so great is their portions are extremely generous, you get 4 pieces of fish, a handful of fries, two slices of buttered rye bread, coleslaw, tartar sauce, and a lemon wedge. The way their fish is prepared and battered is my favorite. It doesn't have that super thick, almost pancake batter like breading that tastes like a corn dog. Instead it's very lightly breaded so that it's fish forward with a nice crunch. This is just my preference, but to me, it's the best fish fry I've ever had. I genuinely love this place so much, but I must say that it's obviously super crowded and loud during the tourist seasons. If that bothers you, you can always call in a takeout order so don't like that deter you from checking this place out!

We sat where we had a great view of Big Arbor Vitae Lake across the street. We had the Soup of the Day which was Stuffed Green Pepper soup. That was very good. A lot of ground beef in it. A bowl of it would be a meal. I'd have every one at the table order it and get the Huge Pretzel appetizer to go with it. We ordered and shared The Patty Melt and upgraded to the fries instead of the rippled chips. Great rye bread and grilled just right. My wife would have liked dill rather than bread and butter pickle chips. Next time we'll ask if that's an option. It wasn't a deal breaker. We also had the Walleye Finger Basket. Wow! Nice big chunks of walleye with a very good coating. I upgraded to the regular onion rings. These were perfectly cooked and had a great crunch to complement the ring of onion on the inside. We were able to take advantage of their offer on the T-bird Football electronic card. Even without it, we will be back to try other things like the Ruben Rolls!
