I contacted Public storage on a whim. I needed a place to keep my personal belongings safe during the week of homelessness before my new apartment was ready in July. I called corporate and was connected with Tammy at the Lake Forest branch of PS. She was extremely helpful and assured me that I was in the right place. Not only did I get a killer deal on my one-month-storage need, there were NO hidden fees or strings attached. I paid $1 for the first month of rent... ya, that's right... ONE DOLLAR, along with the security and insurance, which came to about $30 bucks with NO LONG TERM COMMITMENT!!!! Thank you for a pleasant and perfectly priced deal! I am a fan of this public storage facility. I have used other storage places that were much dirtier with fewer safety features. I like that this place has cameras to see who is coming and going. After having stuff stolen at my previous storage place, I do not take that for granted anymore. One thing I do not like is that when I signed up I was promised a certain rate. I signed up during a special labor day promotional event. The salesman specifically told me that my rate would stay the same indefinitely. I repeated to him that I would have the same rate for as long as I had the storage space and he said yes. Come to find out, that was not the case. My rates have already gone up six months into the deal and they probably will go up again. I feel I was tricked into signing up. If it wasn't for that, I would give them 5 stars. read more

The units locked up and there was no emergency exit or entrance, plus no one on site. The fire department had to break the door open, because the master key was nowhere to be found, so I could get my uHaul keys and make it back down to Vista. We didn't get home until 2 am when we should've been home by 11 at the latest. Never trust this place, zero security and there's no one to help when you probably will need it the most. The only option you'll have is to call the cops, because you can't even get out of the front gate when they lock up!!! Illegal and frightening. read more

Great experience. Jim took the time to make sure the unit I chose online was not too small for my belongings. Surprisingly he also wanted to make sure I was not over estimating my needs. Jim took me to the unit, to make sure it was to my liking, before signing paperwork or collecting any money. He also took the time, to make sure I understood the gate code procedure. I have used a nearby competitors facility in the past. As far as price, hours you can enter and ease of entry, Public Storage has the other guys beat in EVERY respect. I was expecting to write a 5 star review for this place, but unfortunately it's a 3 star for one reason which I will get to. The service was great, the place is clean and organized and facility is in good working order. The problem I have is with their business practices. I have one storage unit and added a second storage unit when the first large one was filled. Unfortunately i got a new customer administration fee tacked on to the second unit even though i am an existing customer. So I asked for the new customer special and was turned down because i was an existing customer??? I wish they would make up their minds. This is more of a corporate problem and their business practices and not the branch itself. Hopefully they will change their policy in the future. I paid additional fees and I'm ok with that. It was just the new customer fee on top of that which didn't sit well with me. read more

After booking a reservation online, I received a call from Ava. A very pleasant lady, who wanted to coordinate my time with the staff to set up a time to see the storage and complete paper work. She was helpful and courteous. The next day, Sitara greeted me and toured me around the facility to my storage room. She was straightforward, professional and has excellent customer service.
