I only write good reviews when the track-record services provided over years is pretty darn perfect. Renter here for 10 years. I've referred many. They offer referral fees and I've always been credited, even when I didn't know the person showed up and rented. Prices are exceptionally lower than other storage facilities. Strong big wooden doors to keep others from breaking in. Sr. Citizen discount that truly helps. Jesse the Manager in Lake Forest, has been amazing at maintaining the facility clean and secure for safety/security. He's been with the owners for a long time. Nice guy with a good heart for his tenants. I won't pay the extra rental costs (somewhere else) so a large public 'stock traded' storage corporation can impress their 'stock investors' with huge 'executive paychecks'. That is ridiculous simply to rent a small storage, when having a hard time, already. The owners of American Storage have been wonderful to their tenants. I don't mind paying their family business their fair rental price. This is one service I really lucked out. Thank you, the Sr. Discount has helped too. Moved in from another facility and couldn't be happier. Process was smooth, staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Unit and the entire facility is clean and easy to access. Elevator is large, and smells good. Carts are available to help move things. The location is discreet and secure. The facility is spotless and access is very easy for the drive up storage units. There is ample room for delivery truck and the gate codes allow access in the earlier and later hours of the day. The staff is helpful and communicative. The units are clean and flat making storing and moving heavy objects a breeze. read more

I called ahead to ask questions about availability, rates, how often they raise their rates, type of padlock I can use, security, hours etc before coming in. This saves time, gas, and gives me a sense of people I'll be dealing with since I'm interested in a unit for at least 6 months. I ended up with a unit and it's been great so far. The one thing I asked them is to let everyone know that they're building is not easy to find. Turn in when you see the sign and pass at least a couple of buildings before you see them. read more

I'm in the process of relocating. I had my property stored in pods at a local business. I quickly discovered this didn't work for me as accessibility is a pain. Twenty four hours notice is required each time I needed access. I went looking for a more traditional storage place and came upon American Mini Storage. Richard was the staff member I dealt with. He is a very personable and professional employee. He explained my options and went over every detail on the contract. Giving me a few options of special rates. He gave me a tour of the very clean and secure facility. I transferred my belongings into my newly rented space without issue. This place is cut and dry, moved right in, friendly service. No hidden fees, no 30 day notices, reasonable rates, they stayed the same the entire time. This place feels like a mom and pop because it is. This is how every storage unit company should be. Other places (public storage) nailed me with a 100 dollar move in fee despite 1 dollar first month, required me to buy a lock, raised my rates, required a 30 day notice to move out. The staff was incredibly nice. I first contacted them via email with a couple questions (i.e. are reservations required, administrative fees, insurance, locks) and they were fast to respond. Since I inquired a week ahead of time, they stated that the size of unit I was interested in would be available for me when I needed it, no deposit required. There is a $10 admin fee, much less than other storage places. They also honored the free $6 lock with the Yelp check-in - YES! They're located behind a few buildings on Canada, so follow the signs. They may be "mini" in size, which I don't think they are, but if you are interested in "Excellent Customer Service", things like - "good old friendly people, and friendly services, then, the staffs at the American Mini Storage are "Hugh" in customer service. Don't take my words for it, check it out for yourself. This is not only my opinion, it is the opinions of at least 15 other renters I have had the privilege of having conversations with. I have rented here for about 5 years now, and before that I was at other places for about 10 years total. "Customer service" here is "Excellent." The facility manager, is as friendly and helpful as they come. When you meet the rest of the "staffs", you will come to the conclusion that "the team certainly reflects the leadership / management objectives." because, everyone member of the team makes you feel welcome.
