Their reliability and ease of setting up the packing and move when I was not even able to be present and the timing was truly helpful. It was more expensive than I had ever paid for movers, even without the packing, and that's honestly why I could not give them full 5 stars. As a military member going through an honorable discharge to help my family in crisis while already injured myself, I had to empty out my own savings and my children's I had saved up over a 9-month deployment in the combat zone to move back to my family when they needed my help, not even sure if I could then provide for them. So while I really thank them for the job they did, I never financially recovered from that and I do ask Rock Movers to consider the vets or military members in San Diego and to complete a weight estimate for them to be reimbursed.

The first time was to help move items into a POD when we listed our home for sale. Fernando was so great to work with that we hired them again for our full cross-country move from California to New York once our home sold. This company has really gone down hill over the years. I say this after years of working with them…read more They originally did a great job on my moves. The last move (last year) was a nightmare! First, I paid for packing services. I told them I needed those things packed the day before or a few days before and not the day of moving. They call me the day before to cancel and say they'll come pack it the day of. Imagine the mess of one crew packing and one crew moving. It was sheer chaos. Then, it's moving day and they don't show up on time. I call and sit there as supplier tries to track these people down and get me answers and they reassure me they're coming. They were an hour and a half late! They show up with one truck and their team lead swears to and down that the other truck is on its way. They finish moving everything into the truck and this other truck (plus additional crew is not here now hours later). Since more people were supposed to come, and they started late, we're already very behind. Now, they realize everting won't fit because the other truck didn't come and they need to come back. It's clear now they're lying through their teeth. No other truck or crew is coming. A blind person can see that. This 5 hour move takes 10 hours. They know they've messed up really badly. They call another crew who shows up in the last 1 hour to help get this done. Everyone is exhausted especially me from all the lies. I refuse to work with a company who blatantly lies, and you should too.

There were three sets of couches that were our main worry simply because of how annoying they were to carry them into the building in the first place. It was a sense of deja vu after having to load it back onto the truck too, but thankfully the movers knew some techniques to make the lift easier and they even had some tools which helped out. Really happy we sought out professional help it would have been pretty hard doing it all by ourselves.

I hired this company last minute, and while the movers showed up and completed a walkthrough, I was not properly informed about the capacity limitations of the truck. After reviewing all of my belongings--including items in the garage--the mover later stated that everything would not fit and that a second day of moving would be required. This lack of upfront communication caused significant inconvenience and additional costs. Because everything was not moved out in one day, my apartment charged me for an extra day of rent, and I also had to pay for a second day of moving services. Had I been informed ahead of time that the truck would not accommodate everything, I would have either rescheduled, arranged for a larger truck, or made proper accommodations with my apartment. Unfortunately, this situation felt avoidable and left me feeling that the situation was not handled transparently.
