Moved out of unit 241 roof leaking like a sinking boat. Unit 231 never had lights the past 5 years. I love this place great staff all ways helpful but the parent company makes it difficult for them to keep the upkeep that it needs. read more

Horrible customer service. Business practices that border on fraud, beware. My senior mom down-sized and had to put decades of belongings in storage. We rented a 10' x 10' unit, but once we starting moving our storage racks in they didn't fit because the space was only 8' x 10'! I complained to a very rude and condescending Miguel (the on-site manager), who told me that I should have measured it myself before signing the agreement! The unit is listed on their map as a 10' x 10' and they charge accordingly. Public Storage corporate didn't care and would not give us a discounted rate. We have now been there almost 2 years and in that time the rent has doubled. No advanced notice. Is that even legal? They don't care because they don't have to. read more

Then, I try to let them know I was vacating before the end of the month, but nobody was in the office. Two different days I tried to let them know. Have been a Public Storage customer for 20 years, 12 at the San Juan Capistrano location. After dealing with an extremely rude and unprofessional manager named Miguel, I was dreading going into the office to let them know the roof was leaking in my unit. To my surprise. I lady named Tina was there. It was so refreshing to deal with someone who was professional and knows the meaning of customer service. Hopefully I won't ever have to deal with Miguel again, as several of my storage neighbors moved out because of his nasty attitude. I can't even comprehend why a company would employ someone like that, who obviously has absolutely no customer service skills. He had once even told me that I had been renting there for a long time and should move out, as who rents storage for that long. Does he even know what type of business he is working for ? Apparently not. While I give Miguel 0 stars, I give 5 star for Tina. As for rates, this company doesn't value long term customers. They raise the rates so high as a thank you for your loyalty. read more

Beware!!! After 4 months Public Storage raised my rate almost 25%!!!! I am a senior citizen that just downsized, my entire home is in the unit until I find housing. Difficult to "just move it" to another facility, they know they have you stuck. I called to speak to their corporate "we care team". Yes that is what they call it, the "we care team", an oxymoron. The supervisor did nothing, they really don't care. I would leave Public Storage ZERO stars if I could. Beware! Homeless drug addicts living in Building D on second level. They rented a unit and live in there. Scared the crap out of us! Management claims they can't kick them out. They have to go through the eviction process. I asked the manager Julio....where are they going to the bathroom when they are in there all night? He said, I don't know. Really? Not too hard to figure out. We must have woke them up at 12:10pm. We watched them grab their backpacks and bikes. They took the lift down to first level and rode off on bikes. Cameras everywhere. Worst company ever to deal with.. Confirmed a cancellation date online and received an email confirmation with my move out date. The day of my move out I received a follow up phone call confirming I was moving out. A month plus later, and now they are telling me that a move out, is not the same as a cancellation. Are you kidding? They are making a claim that a move out alone doesn't cancel my account and I owe for additional time from my actual move out until today or I will be sent to collections? I spoke with (corporate) customer service, and they informed me of a great first-month deal, with no fees to withdrawal before the end of the month. I never heard back from (local) management regarding closing out my account, I called and spoke to someone who said they would call back, and I also left a voicemail after not hearing back for several days, with no success. Of course, my card was charged for another month, even though I removed my trailer from storage 2 days before and called twice to have my account closed. SCAM!! read more

I don't know why, but I got maybe the worst and most disrespectful service ever at this place. Was pressured into getting a unit over the phone with promises I could upgrade or cancel. Then when I tried to upgrade I was told I couldn't do it over the phone and when I called and left messages they were never returned. I called the next day trying to get ahold of someone. Then after I complained to corporate someone finally called me back to tell me that I need to act like an adult and honor the contract I signed. I guess I should not have trusted all the promises of the salesperson. Good $400 lesson. They wouldn't give me my refund back because I did not upgrade within 24 hours. They were unwilling to accept that I called and left a message at the shop and also called corporate within 24 hours. The shop refused to acknowledge I left a message and corporate said they do not log customer calls and times. I have proof from my cell phone records but they don't seem to care. read more

Needed temporary storage for many items from my parents' house recently. Made many calls, mostly from Yelp recommended list. I wanted help in determining the size of space I would need but most places didn't advise, just let me know that I needed to urgently sign up or I would lose any chance of getting a space. But at Public Storage, Kevin at their Burbank HQ, was so patient and informative--what a pleasant surprise to speak to him after a few disappointing calls getting the run around! And those other places were rated Top 10! Their Covid-19 protocol sounded very thorough. I made an appointment and the Manager at the SJC location (Kelly) could not have been any more courteous and helpful. My parents belongings are safely in storage now at that Public Storage facility; they helped me pick the perfect size space and I could not be happier with the experience! read more

Greedy owners! Been renting here for a while and love the location, the place is pretty clean, customer service people are nice and helpful. However, just rented a 12x25 unit on 8.1.2021. Beginning of January got a notice by mail that my rent is going up by $159 dollars a month on 2.2.2022. So the original rate was valid for 6 months, then 30% price increase. Now forced to move everything to a different unit (if lucky enough to find one available). So unless you are looking for a short term rental be ready for an abrupt price increase shortly after all your stuff is moved in. read more
