Have been a Public Storage customer for 20 years, 12 at the San Juan Capistrano location. I lady named Tina was there. It was so refreshing to deal with someone who was professional and knows the meaning of customer service. Hopefully I won't ever have to deal with Miguel again, as several of my storage neighbors moved out because of his nasty attitude. I can't even comprehend why a company would employ someone like that, who obviously has absolutely no customer service skills. He had once even told me that I had been renting there for a long time and should move out, as who rents storage for that long. Does he even know what type of business he is working for ? Apparently not. While I give Miguel 0 stars, I give 5 star for Tina. As for rates, this company doesn't value long term customers. They raise the rates so high as a thank you for your loyalty.

Really bizarre experience with the manager, Miguel…read more I stopped by during normal business hours because I already rent a unit here and wanted to rent another large one. The office was locked with nobody inside and no note on the door. I eventually found Miguel outside washing the doors of some units near mine. When I asked about renting another unit, instead of helping me, he basically did everything he could to talk me out of it. First he told me there was sharp metal sticking out of the floor of one of the units, then told me there were no units available at all -- even though the website was showing multiple available units. He finallly agreed that there were actually other units... but told me they were too big for my needs? Rather than helping me figure that out, he started questioning me about whether my vehicle was registered to be parked in my existing unit and going off on other tangents that had nothing to do with my request. It honestly felt like he was looking for reasons not to help me. I finally called him out on his attitude, at which point he seemed to realize he was being unnecessarily confrontational and started to half-apologize. At one point he was actually telling me I shouldn't use the word "dude." The whole interaction was just strange, especially coming from the manager of the facility. Afterward I looked through the reviews here and apparently I'm far from the first person to have a bad experience with Miguel. I was a good existing customer literally trying to give Public Storage more money by renting a second large unit. Instead, I left, rented a unit at another facility, and will now be moving the contents of my existing unit there too. Pretty incredible way to lose a customer who walked in wanting to spend more money.
