This is the cleanest storage unit I have experienced. A hidden GEM. Everything is easy to get to and the Staff is always helpful. I have been here for 4 years. Highly recommend. Nice inside storage space. Kept dry and safe. Good security and friendly office staff. OK price, with reasonable price increases over time. My only complaint -- no lighting inside the storage spaces, and permission was denied to use the hall electrical plugs to bring in a light in the space while I'm actually inside the space. I have had a storage unit here for at least 25 years and have been satisfied and happy for the most part. A couple of years ago I arrived to find a new lock on my unit. I reported it to the office and they gave me a new lock. The office asked me to look and see if anything was missing. On the surface it appeared as if nothing was taken however this year in rearranging our unit we found that my wife's Barbie collection was taken. The thieves were smart- they took all the dolls and left only the boxes! Very disheartening. Makes me wonder how secure our unit is! Happy New Year. read more

I have used this storage space for almost 13 years. It is well maintained, secure, and staff is very friendly and accommodating. Hours of operation, especially around holidays, are a little inconvenient as is the carts' accessibility (which are in pretty bad shape). That, along with some dampness in my unit after a megastorm, is the only reason why I'm not giving it a 5-star rating. But, I am still very satisfied with this facility. read more

I have had items in storage here for 10+ years. I have never had any problems. The staff is friendly and helpful. They have increased the fee over the 10 years, but I suppose this is to be expected. I needed a last minute storage unit and was shopping around the San Juan, Capo Beach area and found American Mini Storage had a unit and was less expensive than everywhere else I looked, but more importantly Victoria and Brian were so helpful and went above and beyond to get the unit ready for me and even loaned me a lock because I had left mine in my car at Uhaul when I picked up my truck. We have two storage units with furniture and boxes of household items. Based on my experience with other storage facilities, I know that we as customers need to try to prevent damage from rodents, moisture, etc. Being close to the coast line of southern California means damp air and therefore mold. I keep most items in airtight plastic boxes and large heavy airtight bags. That being said, we have had very good experiences at this facility. read more

I have been asked a few times by American Mini Storage to write a review. In mid March I received a notice of a rent increase. At this time of so much hardship why are they raising the rent? Terrible !!!! I kept my stuff there for four months. The dust and mold problem is horrible. All of my antique wood furniture came out with a greenish blue mold and mounds of dust, I even covered my stuff. Don't use this place!!!! The mold is in the air and everywhere read more

I had a storage unit at American Mini Storage for 4 years! They gave a great "move-in" deal, but their regular monthly rate was still the best rate I found anywhere! The facility was always perfectly clean and taken care of. I kept looking for another storage unit closer to my new place in Huntington Beach, but for 4 whole years I never found one with a better price. Today, I finally removed the last of my storage and vacated. Fuck this place - my storage fee's went up from $95 a month to $170 a month in the past few years due to the new ownership. All that they care about is the $$$.
