I made a reservation for a small unit. No money was required. However, They called me twice and sent several emails to "confirm ". Upon arrival we learned that we would be charged "administration fee"(so forget about that $1 first months rent). Then we learned we had to buy a lock from them. I've rented from Public Storage at other facilities in Connecticut and loved it. My experience here was very different. There is no accountability here. The staff is rude and the management very unprofessional. There is no regard for their customers when they cause errors. A terrible experience that makes me rethink this company. As I was walking back to my car, another customer that was moving out tells me he was moving because of the unprofessionalism of management. He had to call the police on her because she was screaming at him so bad. No thank you, I'll pass on doing business here. read more

Went to Public Storage this weekend to open a unit that I had reserved online. When I arrived, I was a little disappointed at the size and location of the unit, but assumed that since it was only $22, it was about as good as I was going to get. Thanks to Tianna who was extremely patient and walked me all around to 4 or 5 different units, I was able to find a MUCH better unit that met my needs and only a few dollars more. I truly appreciated Tianna's patience, attitude, and willingness to help me find the right unit without making me feel like a nuisance or uncomfortable. During this whole tour of the facility, my brother was texting me to look elsewhere and had I been pressured into a significantly more expensive unit, or not shown better options, I would have done just that. Thanks to Tianna, I am happy with the location and cost of my unit and am happy to recommend this location! read more

One year ago I rented a unit at this location for a rate of 116 a month. Several months ago the rate was increased to 136 a month, which was quite a surprise, as it was nearly a 20% increase in less than a year into my lease. Suffice it to say I was shocked to find an email this morning saying my monthly rental rate was going up to $164 per month! This is over a 40% increase in one year's time. This should be illegal. I called the corporate office to plead my case, explaining that I just can't handle such a large increase, also alerting them to the fact that their website advertises that a new tenant moving in today would pay $120 for the same unit. This is an extremely deceptive business practice and puts the hurt on people who really need the service they offer. read more

If I could give this location no stars I would. Let me begin by saying this store didn't even bother calling me and telling me that my storage was late. They have my phone number on file and I have 0 voicemails regarding that issue. I was under the impression that my storage was on an auto withdrawal. I moved to Washington state with my husband and baby. They called and asked my dad to come in and pay for and empty the unit. My dad is an authorized person on my account so he rented a moving truck and drove over to take care of it for me. But then they wouldn't let him pay for my unit or go into my unit to get my things out. I was told by this location to go into my nearest public storage in Washington to have them scan my ID and verify that I am indeed the main person on that account and if I send them a signature saying my dad who is already an authorized person for my unit in to be to empty it out. So I did exactly what they said and then they decided you know what why don't you fly to California because now you have to be in person to prove it's you even though just hours before I was told otherwise. So I called the store probably 20 times between Saturday and Sunday trying to figure out what I can do. Finally getting ahold of someone right before they closed Sunday night confirming if I flew to California with my baby DURING A FUCKING GLOBAL PANDEMIC that I had until the 31st to empty my unit. I was also told that they didn't care if I had the coronavirus they would still need me to come in whether I was sick or not. I had asked Saturday for the district manager Laureen to call me and again had asked on Sunday. I even called her today with no answer or reply. I've left 2 separate voicemails as well. So you know what I bought a ticket against wanting to take my 10 month old on a plane just to take care of my unit and flew to California this afternoon. I just now went in to pay for my storage and they have now said I have 2 hours to get my things out of storage when just last night. Not even 24 hours ago I was told I had until the 31st. They said I have to pay in cash which seems like they're honestly just taking my money under the table. I will be reaching out to corporate with these many issues. read more

I'm gonna set the scene: moving from San Francisco to San Diego, all my stuff packed in a rental Minivan of Awesomeness. Left a little late, then got caught in construction traffic, which delayed me just enough to get caught in LA rush hour traffic. So I'm hourrrs behind schedule. I had set up storage in SD cuz my new place isn't ready to move in yet and I've gotta hop on a plane the next day, but no way I'll make it before they close. After furious Google and yelping, enter Public Storage in Irvine. The only place in southern California open until 8 that I could find. Made the reservation online. Had a phone call from on site manager asking if I had any questions less than a minute later. Word. Had fare warning that the building shut down at 8, which was cutting it close cuz GPS had me getting there at 715. Commence the road rage. Got there a little after 7 and Robert was awesome. He Micro Machine Manned his way thru the paperwork (remember that commercial?) so I could get to loading. He was totally awesome. The facility is ginormous, apparently the second largest in the nation, and every part I saw of it is immaculate. Squeaky clean. I got a 10x5 spot and it was oriented so it was 10 feet wide, which made loading nice and easy. $1 for first month, $11 insurance, $15 admin fee and...20 bucks I think? For a lock and I was set. Finished unloading at 758pm. Nice. So. Short summary: very clean, great prices, awesome helpful staff, easy process. read more

This was our first timing using Public Storage. We were very impressed. Francis was great our first day when we were confirming the space and signing our contracts. Everyone had their hands in the pot which seemed a bit overwhelming but it was only beneficially. We got the best deal and the best service!! We came in the next day to move our whole house into a storage unit. Honestly, we couldn't have done it without Brittany. SHE WAS PERFECT! So helpful, cheerful, patient and calm. BEWARE!! The facility is new, clean, but NOT affordable. They get you in with special deals then within a few months the rent increases. In my case I rented a 5x10 starting May 2017 for $45, a summer special. Now my rate for November has been raised to $72. That is over a 60% increase. If your budget is like mine a 60% increase is not affordable. When I called and talked with Lorraine all she could offer was a 5x5 for the same amount. Is this becoming the new normal to pay for the same dollar amount and get less?? read more

I've used a number of different storage facilities over the past 30 years, but this is the best of the best. The employees know their stuff and take pride in their work and facility. I reserved a locker online and when i showed up i paid for everything then went to the unit and saw it was a small unit. The manager never even took their lock off of it. I never moved a thing into it. I walked back and said thats too small. So i had him switch me to the larger one. I then had to pay for larger one mind you I already paid 60 dollars for first one. But he could not use the money i already paid for some reason. He could not refund me either. So i paid another 75 for the larger one. He assured me I would be reimbursed later. Never was. Its been almost a month and I just paid another month rent. So im in 200 bucks and only one month into this unit. They lied to me and took my money. When i called them they just tell me sorry cant do anything. So what do i do. They just steal peopls money during these crazy times and dont care. I would not reccomend this place or any other PS. They steal cheat and lie. read more

Very nice new facility in a quiet business area. All of the storage is indoors and climate controlled with a cool automated door system. Loredie signed us up and was great! She really took the time to help us find the best spot for our storage space in a very big facility. We moved our stuff in over the next two days and it was a breeze. It took us the whole day to pack our 15 foot truck but only an hour to unload it here. The truck pull up area is very roomy so you don't have to fight to get close. You don't pull up to your own storage door. You pull up to one of 3 main doors and use carts to haul your stuff down the halls to your space. The large moving carts allow you to carry several boxes at once or large items with ease. However, our space is very close to the main door. I suppose it could be a hassle if you are further in. I would definitely recommend using this facility and I'm happy I chose it over others. read more

I was very upset with the level of customer service I received from the personnel at the Red Hill Public storage office. Francis had no idea what he was talking about the entire time he was "trying" to assist me. The other gentleman in the office had to chime in many times to correct him from the wrong information. I only needed the unit for about a month between my apartments. So I wanted to know how much I would owe if for some reason I was a day over the 30 days. He made it so confusing and after a few mins of me asking questions from what I understood the days I used over would be pro rated per day. I left feeling assured I would only pay a small fee. Well I decided to come by the office and ask how much exactly the prorated amount would be when I knew exactly when I would be moving my things out. Tiffany was now in the office and she formed me that he was not explaining it correctly and I owed for the two week remaining in the month (51$) She also informed me that she would "work" with that sales rep later. Well it's nice your going to help him get better at his job but what about me and all the other people he has been misinforming? Now I am stuck paying for two weeks that I do not need the unit for. And I only need the unit for one day over! If I would have known this from the beginning I would have made sure my new apartment was ready a day ahead of time. So frustrating that employees do not know what they are talking about! read more

place is clean but horrible customer service, they coerce you into buying their crappy $20.00 keys and lock. also force you to buy the illegal insurance even when you protest that you have your own insurance. the $24.00 move in quote changed to $64.oo at move in. the checkin person was extremely unhelpful and hard to understand. did not explain any of their policies. beware you can not use their carts unless tou leave your driver's license. was told the rate for unit was good for a year---we'll see. read more

I work with a moving company who had a job to move a customer from this facility. All said and done my team had left behind a company moving dolly. Called immediately and spoke with Brittney, who assured me that they had it and it would be held for me to return to go and pick it up. Once I arrived the dolly is no where to be found and now Daniel and Brittney both want to say they never had it and they don't know where this could be. As a professional in this business your word means everything, theirs clearly is only to their benefit... Clearly very careless on both individuals behalf. read more

After six months of renting a large unit here I was able to downsize to a smaller storage unit with the help of Camille and Tiffany and Tony! They were very helpful! They helped me find the best unit near a door. This is so great as I'll be back to go thru the items I've left in the smaller unit, which means I am closer to my car too. These three employees provided amazing customer service - I wish they all could get a bonus! The facility is always so clean here which is really important. When you walk inside you don't feel like you are breathing dust. I do wish they had coffee, maybe cookies, and water in the lobby for customers. And it would be nice if they offered something to their customers for posting a review on yelp. I'd recommend this location and these staff members. read more

I cannot rave enough about the excellent service of both Francis and Krystal! When I came in to do my rental, I had no idea where to begin. Francis and Krystal greeted me immediately upon my entrance to the door and made me feel at home. Francis was very knowledgeable about this company and was able to explain to me step by step exactly what we would be doing and how all the amazing benefits of this property would make my time in storage as painless and worry-free as possible! Francis took me to see the unit and I was very impressed at the cleanliness of this facility! I could practically see my reflection on their clean floors, and there was not a speck of dust or dirt to be seen. The facility is kept cool 24 hours a day, which is perfect for my more sensitive items, and also to keep me cool during the move. This facility also boasts a large inventory of carts which are free for any customer to use during office hours. When we had picked my unit, it was almost $40 less than anywhere else I had looked at! Francis kept a friendly conversation going through the whole process and made me feel like a close friend. When we returned to the office, Francis helped me select the right amount of boxes for my stay, and the discounts definitely agreed with my tight budget! The lease process was painless, and Francis once again proved his value to Public Storage by being able to explain every step of the way what I was signing. When it came time to leave, Francis and Krystal both wished me luck on my move and invited me back if I ever had any questions. I opened up a unit here because I had a gap between my apartment leases. On the first day, I was walked through the storage procedures and products briefly snd given access to my locker in perhaps 15 minutes. The place is kept clean and the service is very friendly. I even missed my payment second month but wad given a reminder call three days later and did not have a late fee tacked on as I paid later that same day. Lock removal is free unless you want a new lock, which is also a big plus for me. read more

Nickel and dimed for literally everything. If you're going to run a business like this, then you should have the courtesy to provide all of the information regarding additional charges upfront. I arrived and was told my assigned unit would probably be too difficult to move anything heavy into because you have to climb a ladder to reach the storage space. This led to an additional charge for a larger unit simply because it was more easily accessible. Then, I was charged an administrative fee, lock fee, and supplementary insurance. I have an insurance policy, but I wasn't able to provide documentation on the spot regarding off-site storage coverage. Also, I was prepared to use a regular lock, then they told me it had to be a spherical lock. I'm pretty sure this was a blatant lie. After I moved my belongings into storage, I saw plenty of units with regular locks. I won't be using this facility for any longer than the promo period, and I won't be using them in he future. On top of everything, service was extremely slow. read more
