Extra space is a scam. I started a unit for $57.20/month in July2025. Then they increase the price to $92.20/month in Nov 2025 regardless the contract I signed. What a scam. The management is horrible to deal with too. read more

Update: within one year, my rent has gone up $160 - from $197.20 when I took possession of the unit, to $357.20 (see attached photo of rate increase postcard I received in the mail). The place is clean and maintained. I'll give it that. But STAff IS RACIS AND DISCRIMINATES. They love you accuse people without any evidence and when you call them out on it. The evidence disappears. Soo I have been with this storage facility off and on for around 20 years. I recently moved and signed what I thought was a 6 months lease online for $197 a month. Just four months later my rent is $297!!!! They raised it $100. When you call they are going to explain that it was "in your lease" that they can raise your rent at any time. This company is predatory and takes advantage of people once they have all of your belongings. I asked when the next increase would be and how much and they did not know but again it's "in your lease that they can raise it to market value at ANY time". I'm finding this out the day before Thanksgiving and I'm so frustrated because I had other options before I moved my furniture there. I should have listened to the other reviews. They mentioned sending me a card in the mail giving me notice of the increase, that I didn't receive, and once people have moved in to such a large unit it's extremely hard to move out. So now I'm stuck and as a long time customer this will be the last time I recommend this facility. PLEASE listen to the other reviews. No matter what box you check on the lease regarding how long you want to stay, that does NOT mean the price stays the same! I thought I had that price for 6 months. Rents are already through the roof in the housing market and it's a shame that Extra Space uses fine print to take advantage of their customers. Well...it only took 3 months for them to raise my rent by 33% despite being told that would not happen to me. Now I am paying close to what I was at public storage. It must be nice to lure people in with low rates and then gouge them without notice three months later. There was no notification via email of the increase, I only noticed because I looked at my account. I really expected more from this company! A friend of mine rented a unit from this Extra storage and received a letter in the mail of a 33% increase after 3 months! So people know the annual inflation rate for the last 12 months averaged 3.7%. So there is no justification for a 33% price increase after 3 months and this is simply price gouging vulnerable customers! Also, no one answers the phone for current customers and they only answer the phone if you choose "new customer-rent a unit." Storage unit companies like this one need to be seriously regulated by the government so the can't price gouge people and people are not stuck with such awful service. Save your money and do business with a more reputable and honest storage company. read more

This place is the worst . They have no cap on the rent as they are not regulated to do so they go up on your storage fees so often that this last time I was visiting, I had to actually move out of my storage which was huge inconvenience because they went up $100 with no warning as they only send you a postcard that looks like junk mail in an attempt to deceive you in my opinion. I was only there a year and the price went up on me twice I started out at $150 a year later they wanted to keep me at 273. Also when moving out you were supposed to let them know so that they can check the unit and you won't get charged when I tried calling and I kept getting forwarded to the music or voicemail three times in a row I called they didn't answer so that I could say that I had checked out on the day that was my last day so I used another phone and they answered right away. I just feel like there's so many games and scams with this company, they lock you out if you miss your payment after six days, beware of their practices read more

This storage location is by far most organized and tidiest I've ever rented! The team is always on the same page and hard working. They have housekeeping at all different times during the day sweeping and mopping the floors. The are incredibly honest and helpful. I recommend this storage to anyone who is going to rent short or long term. I've never experienced moths, bugs, or trash in hallways or even outside, besides what people leave behind and it's picked up a few hours later. Worst parking ever! How can you build an storage building with very limited loading and parking space

Beware, they raise the rent without any type of notice (is that even legal??) and it's only been 3 months since I moved in. Mine went up $11.00 for my 5×5 unit. My impression is they do this to discourage long term tenants. I wish I had known this before moving in. Hope somebody finds this info. helpful. read more

Was able to call and get a storage rented in under 10 minutes! They emailed me the forms and I paid over the phone. I love how quick and easy it was! They also offer deals not shown online, so you should call or go in to see if they have first month free or something similar. Justin was very friendly and helpful. ***Note to anyone considering this: they do use weird lock that they charge you for in order to get the locker, and you can't bring your own due to the design. I would keep that in mind when looking for a new locker*** While for the most part I didn't have too many issues when I first started, most of my problems occurred when trying to end my rental. I did need to go in to find my locker since my gate code wasn't working, but that wasn't such a big deal. When it came time for me to cancel, since it was only for a short time, I found that my online account that I set up wasn't working, so I decided to call. Since it was the weekend, I didn't expect an immediate response, so I just left a voicemail asking to be called back. I waited a few days, and since I got no response, I just called again, but even though it was during business hours, no one picked up, so I left another voicemail. I didn't hear anything back until after the payment deadline, at which point they began calling me about my account being overdue. However, by this point I could no longer access the storage facility to move my lock to move out, since the payment was overdue, since the gate code was connected to the system or something. When I finally got in contact with someone, they told me the only way to move out was to pay the overdue amount to go get my lock. I tried asking her about making an exception since I did try to get in contact with them, but she insisted that it wasn't a possibility and just told me to pay. I did finally get my account to work, so I could log on and pay from there. I was frustrated, but I just paid anyway to avoid extra fees and went to move out. I wish that communication would have been better to avoid this issue in the first place, since I ended up paying over $100 to end my locker which cost less than 50 a month. Perhaps I should have been more active in trying to get my locker canceled, but with no help from customer support, it seemed like they were waiting for my payment to go overdue for them to take any action on it. Edit: they also force you to call in order to officially cancel, so selecting move out on the website essentially does nothing. Watch out for this when ending your service! read more
