I don't know about you, but I HATE having to find boxes for free or pay for boxes that I'm going to use once and then put on the curb. Moving is stressful as it is, why add to that with having to find boxes? PiggyBoxes is a great alternative to traditional moving boxes. Basically, you rent plastic storage totes that are more sturdy than your average storage tote. You determine how many you want (they have recommendations based on room size on their website) and for how long you need them (average is two weeks). The owner then drops them off at your current abode and picks them up from your new home when you're ready. I've moved 5 times in about the last five years, so this is not my first rodeo. It is, however, my first experience with any type of reusable moving boxes and I have to say: I'm a HUGE fan. Piggy boxes are large and hold a ton of stuff. You don't have to worry about boxes crushing because they are hard plastic. We hardly wrapped our kitchen items, we just made sure we were careful and wrote fragile on the boxes. They stack easily. There is a rolling "dolly" to transport the boxes from one place to another. They are just CONVENIENT. The biggest plus for my husband (who by the way, was probably a bigger fan of them than I was, and I loved them!) is that due to only having them for only two weeks, we were required to unpack quickly! No boxes laying around the house for months before unpacking! While I was originally not thrilled about paying over $100 for moving boxes (when I could get cardboard boxes for free from work), I have to say I wouldn't hesitate to do it again. Todd (owner, delivery man, box cleaner, appointment scheduler, model) is an excellent guy and will definitely take care of you. The boxes are clean, large and sturdy. They stack up so you can save room when they're packed and after they're emptied. Why bother with cardboard boxes you either scavenge for around the office or pay for at u-haul, rip at the bottom when you lift them up, and you have no idea what to do with them after you unpack?! I LOVED using PIggyBoxes!! My boyfriend was skeptical of using these since boxes are so much cheaper but I am overwhelmed by how wasteful moving was and reusable plastic seems better than cardboard. You put them together with packing tape ($2-3/roll), break them down, and load them up in your recycling bin over the next couple months. It's one of the small parts that makes moving suck. What can I say, Piggy Boxes are the way to go. My roommate and I moved from a 2bd/2ba to a 2bd/2ba and utilized the 50 box 2 bd option. We used every box, it was perfect. Piggy Box Pros: - Ordering them online is a breeze - No need to build and tape or break down like with cardboard (extra steps, no thank you) - Clean and smell good (they really do, cardboard can get stinky) - Easy to move around/stack and label (I put the labels on top of the piggy's head) - They look nice and uniform among the chaos of moving (such nice uniform stacks) - They are delivered and picked up (yes please) - Very environmentally friendly (yay) - Fantastic customer service and very responsive - And of course they are fun to talk about (piggy piggy piggy boxes!) I can't really think of any cons. They might be heavier than cardboard but we packed on the lighter side which worked out just fine because I like to be able to lift the boxes anyway. Just finished a move using Piggy Boxes, and couldn't be happier with the experience. First, they offered delivery straight to my apartment. Todd was there right on time and it only took a moment to get set up. They even came with easy to remove labels to help keep everything separated. A HUGE plus with Piggy Boxes, was the dolly. We have all seen the heavy metal ones that tilt back nearly killing you. This dolly was flat, sturdy and fit the boxes perfectly. The boxes themselves were clean and deep. If you are worried about how much can fit in them, DON'T! You will be pleasantly surprised. They are also sturdy, and close securely, eliminating the need for tape. Renting reusable boxes is so much better than buying cardboard boxes! Every box was super clean - I didn't find so much as a grain of sand in any of the boxes. This company only uses one size box, which I prefer, because when I had extra room in the box, I just stuck clothing or pillows in the void area. The dollies made moving the boxes so much easier! I had one incoming stack of boxes, and one outgoing stack of boxes. Delivery and pick-up were on time, and the price for bubble wrap was reasonable. Service: AMAZING! I called Todd last minute to schedule after my boyfriend and I had a horrible experience trying to communicate with another plastic box company and needed someone ASAP. To say Todd was great to work with would be an understatement - he confirmed within 20 minutes that he had the inventory, dropped the boxes off 4 hours later (late on a Friday, nonetheless), and happily picked the boxes up early once we had unpacked. Inventory: The boxes all arrived clean and ready to go, with labels, zip-ties, and the cart/dolly thing. I used these about a month ago and found them to be pretty great. One thing - make sure you get some boxes for things that are a litlte taller. They are super roomy and - but I found that 98% of things fit in them. I needed something for that extra 2%. Also - don't pack full if you have books! OMG. You'll never lift the things. They are plastic and are much more sturdy then the cardboard ones, love the Velcro that helps seal the boxes for transportation. I ordered Piggy Boxes knowing that it would save me time and money in the long run. The thing is, these plastic containers are more sturdy that any cardboard box out there. With cardboard boxes, you have to buy bubble wrap for glass plates or cups. With Piggy Boxes, I wrapped my glass plates and cups with some of my puffy clothes, packed them lightly and moved on to the next box. Anyway, nothing was broken. The movers were happy. I know this review is a little past due since I moved last January but the service was so great I had to come back and leave my review. Our family moved last January 11th 2017. I reserved the boxes for two weeks because I needed some time to pack and also unpack after I arrived. I ended up getting into a car accident the day before our move and was able to get an extra day to unpack things since my mobility was definitely restricted after the accident. I made somewhat of a last-minute decision to utilize plastic moving bins and booked my order the day before I needed them. Todd was awesome and accommodated my needs on short notice without any extra fees. I received my boxes at my schedule time, they were all clean, worked perfectly, and was way more convenient than I ever expected. I think the most convenient thing was that if I ended up packing something the day before and needed something in that box the next day, it was so easy just to go back into that box and pull out whatever I needed without having to deal with ripping off the tape and retaping it all up again. When it came to Todd picking up the boxes he was super sweet and was kind enough to place me as his very last pickup of the day giving me extra time to unpack my last three boxes!
