I've used Rent a Moving Box for my last 2 moves and plan on using them the next time I move! Let me start by saying that I hate moving. Part of that hate stems from the packing process, more specifically, finding cardboard boxes, lugging them home, taping them up, packing and then unpacking and then breaking said boxes down and having to dispose them. Rent A Moving Box makes this painful process so easy ... they deliver your boxes to your current location, text you a pic so you know they have arrived, you throw all your stuff into them, move, unpack and then they come and pick them up. We've rented plastic moving crates to move twice (most recently from Rent A Moving Box) and 100% we cannot ever go back to moving with cardboard boxes -- and 10/10 recommend renting crates as well. Reasons: They're sturdy and durable, they stack, they're CLEAN, you don't have to fold/unfold/tape/untape boxes (no paper cuts), waterproof, they roll on dollys, and you can easily pack and unpack them if you're doing a local move. It's eco-friendly and efficient - what's more to love? Logistics: We did the 2 bedroom package and it worked for us - though I would have probably rented more if we weren't doing a local move (we made a couple of trips before the big moving day and re-used the boxes over and over again). I didn't add any extras, though would recommend packing paper for fragile/kitchen stuff (our movers provided it) Todd was super responsive and helpful via Yelp/email and Nick was super friendly (he both dropped off and picked up the boxes). They're very communicative (by phone before drop off/pick up) and provide a 2 hour window on whichever day you want that fits their driver's schedule. Highly, highly, HIGHLY recommend. I have been in the Property Management industry for over 11 years now and I tend to move often. Before "Rent A Moving Box" evolved, I had rented plastic moving boxes from "PiggyBoxes." I found the concept extremely creative and absolutely loved the idea of using plastic boxes for my move as they seemed to be so much more durable than cardboard. I have rented from PiggyBoxes/Rent A Moving Box each and every time I have moved since 2012! I will never go back to using cardboard boxes again! The boxes are dropped off when you're ready to begin packing and picked up once you are done unpacking - you don't have to break down boxes and figure out what to do with them after - it is great! The boxes are also very clean, stack easily and come in all different sizes! In addition to the product, the service has always been phenomenal! Todd is very easy to work with, friendly and extremely flexible (he can usually accommodate specific scheduling requests when it comes to drop off/pick up). Communication is always great! While planning a recent move, I really didn't want to deal with cardboard boxes so I decided to give Rent A Moving Box a try. What a great concept! They make it easy... boxes delivered before move, then picked up after at your new location. One of my favorite parts is the dollies. You can easily move one or more packed or unpacked boxes from one room to another which saves on the back strain. One dolly came with my package but I ordered two extras (only $5 each) which made a big difference. Next time I would probably order another extra. Nobody likes moving, but this service makes it much more manageable. read more

Moving is never a fun process and there are a lot of companies out there who are more than happy to swindle you by underquoting and over-billing as well as over-promising and under-delivering. I'll tell you right now that this company is not one of them. I realized that I was out of traditional cardboard boxes with more than half of my house left to pack. I found Rent a Moving Box through Google and gave them a call. I emailed three companies asking to see if I could get boxes delivered same day. Rent a Moving Box was the only one that could fulfill this request. When I called, the representative said they could deliver the boxes (I requested 40) within a couple of hours. However they wouldn't have been cleaned but the drivers would pick the cleanest ones. After a *very* smooth delivery, I inspected the boxes and I would have never known they weren't clean. No dirt or soil in any of the 40 boxes. The boxes themselves were perfect for my move. When I was done, I stacked them out back in preparation for the pickup a week later. The truck picked up my boxes, loaded them onto the truck, confirmed that they were all there and left. No typical b/s involved. I got an email confirming that everything was a-okay and my experience was over. Renting hard boxes is pricier than buying your own cardboard from a U-Haul. That said, you can take some kind of solace that the boxes you rented won't end up in a landfill to slowly decompose over the next several decades. So this might not be an option if you're on a super-low budget but it's absolutely worth it if you can do it. Not to mention they pickup the boxes. Nothing to break down, no knives to locate to cut the tape. It just works. PROS: Excellent customer service, easy delivery and pickup, good sturdy boxes, nothing in the landfills. CONS: Pricier than traditional cardboard moving boxes. OVERALL: I'd absolutely use these guys again. They're more than worth it! read more

These boxes were great and made packing and moving so much easier! What's great about the boxes is that they're solid and sturdy so you don't have to worry about them collapsing if they're not completely full. Our movers loved them and said it made our move much more efficient and they could make solid walls in the truck with them. I'm pretty sure the time we saved on the move paid for the expense of renting the boxes. Joe and Ryan were very flexible in delivery and pickup, and when we didn't have them unpacked in time, they rescheduled pickup-no problem. Perfect perfect perfect!! Bins were dropped of at my home and picked up at my new home. You cannot beat door to door service! A million times better than dumpster diving and trolling neighborhood grocery stores looking for soggy old boxes. The bins are sturdy, clean and come in a variety of sizes. I took the 25box package and this was just the right amount for me; I had a 1br 850sq ft apt. I did not compare prices to traditional boxes if I had bought the same amount as new, but let's be real; the process of traditional boxes is a royal pain! Find them,put them together, tape, more tape, not sturdy for heavy stuff, take them apart, more tape, and then disposal/recycling?! Rent, don't buy these boxes, which require no packing tape. 2. For the price you'd pay for above tape and cardboard, you'd pay to move with these boxes instead. 3. They provide labels AND zip ties for each box. 4. You don't have to build boxes or break any down. HOURS, DAYS, saved! 5. They drop off at your packing location, and you rent by the week. 6. They pick up at your destination. 7. If you're not home, Joe, I believe the owner, is extremely flexible in making sure they somehow get you these boxes and pick them up with minimal expenditure on your end. First of all, the guys at Rent a Moving Box are great: they're really accommodating and professional. And I love the idea behind the company. I was searching online for a place that sold cardboard boxes for moving when I came across this place, and was I ever glad I did. I hate having to buy all those cardboard boxes and then just throwing them out when I'm done, or having to break them all down and take them to the recycling plant. And you don't even have to pick them up or drop them off... they bring them to your door and then pick them up on the other end! It's great! I've never used the green moving boxes before and i will never move again without them! Our movers really appreciated them as well, it cut moving time down significantly. I have moved many times and always hated trying to get boxes to pack. You have to put them together, tape, pack, move, un-tape, unpack, flatten the box, and then figure out what to do with them. A few years ago I found Rent a Moving Box (formerly Piggy Boxes) and absolutely loved them! Since then I vowed to always use them instead of regular cardboard boxes. This last time was my third time using them and I still feel the same. They deliver your specified box order, you pack, move, unpack and they come to pick up the boxes at your new address. You don't have to worry about taping or figuring out what to do with those damn boxes after you move. Plus these boxes are all very nice, clean, and the sizes are great!
