This is just my experience. I have read many reviews. ++++ All I can say is that the second I walked in I was greeted with smiles and jokes and felt welcomed. JAZZ was super nice a explained everything throughly. She showed me various units with different sizes without any hesitation. Jazz came to leave the main door open for me while she was standing there, to make my unloading process smooth. Margaret was another funny and kind rep. She immediately came to my rescue when I first had to handle entering my unit. Overall, I had a great experience. Some of us are going through some event in life and might be emotional but the ladies actually without knowing my situation gave me warmth, efficiency, extra mile help and loved it!!!!! read more

I've been here for several years. I was very pleased in the beginning. Great customer service from the two gentlemen who worked there. They were very helpful, friendly and professional. Building is very clean. Great access. Restrooms are clean and available. The company however raised rent for a 10/10 more than 3 times on me. I'm a single mother. So of course I'm going to pay rather than move it all by myself again. However they raised my rent again and starting June 1 it will be almost $300. And the website shows a 10/10 a huge lower price. That's my car payment. Anyways I'm moving out and have until the end of the month so everything left is stuff that I will be taking to the dump. I did not leave a lock on it. I explained this to the lady worker and she told me thank you for letting them know. Nothing about needing a lock on it. So they called and I went down there the gentleman who's always helpful said he would remove the lock. The next day I get a call from a lady and every day after that I need a lock and they put their own lock in it. So yesterday I rented a truck and had help and was there at 8:45 waiting for office to open. There was also the maintenance company for elevators waiting had an appointment at 9:30. No one showed up in the office. They left. I called company and they said they changed hours and was by appointment only. I was not notified of this change and all information on website etc shows office hours 9-6. I had to make an appointment to have them remove lock. Had to rent a truck another day. During these couple of days they sent me an email with a revised contract after the fact when they put their lock on unit. When I chatted with customer service and spoke with customer service they were very rude not helpful the chat the person ended and the phone call was not understanding or help and gave me incorrect information. The only reason why I'm giving it 3 stars is because of the experience I had in the beginning. And forgive me if I'm wrong this is just my experience and being a single mother. And the struggles. On a good note moving to the other storage company down the street I had some knowledge on what to ask knowing ahead of time what to expect. read more

I would never recommend doing business with public storage . I payed my bill a month in advance . I ended up moving out of that unit because they raised my rent so much that I downsized to a smaller unit . They owed me $260 for a month I payed in advanced . When I followed up with the property manager I was told that they mailed a refund check . After checking my mailbox for a week there was no check. Upon calling Public Storage corporate , I come to find out a refund takes 6-8 weeks. As apposed to refunding my card or issuing a credit towards my other unit they chose to take their own sweet time issuing a refund . Mind you the property manager called me to tell me I was late on my units while I'm still waiting on a refund from them. I had to inform them about their own policy . A while back I visited this Public Storage in hopes of finding a good storage unit during a move. My experience was regrettable, to say the least and I ended up renting a unit from their competition up Jamboree that provides extra space. Anyway, I reserved a unit online that was a 5x5. The rate was several dollars cheaper than other places. An office manager called me within an hour to confirm my reservation and set my appointment for 1:00 PM. I arrived to my appointment about five minutes early and much to my chagrin there was a sign hanging by the door that stated the office was closed and would reopen at 1:30 PM. I thought that perhaps the office staff did not set the little hands on the sign before hanging it and would be back sooner. I was very wrong. I waited the half hour for the office manager to come back. During this time, I was waiting in my car. Around 1:15 , another car pulled up and a customer got out and waited by the door. At around 1:25 I got out of my car and waited by the door as well. As soon as the office manager arrived, I let her know that I was her 1:00 PM Appointment and she dismissed me mentioning that " This customer is in line in front of you ". He mentioned that he did not have an appointment but was helped first, anyway. So I waited another half hour for them to finish renting a unit and finally got in the office for my appointment an hour after it was supposed to start. She asked me if I knew I had reserved a "locker" to which I replied that I did not. So, she suggested showing me the unit before finishing the rental process. I am very glad I did. This "locker" is TINY. It's about 4 ft tall and would struggle to fit more than a couple of bins. I told her that there was no way this would work and she showed me a standard 5x5 which I had thought I was renting in the first place. The standard 5x5 would have suited my needs but the price was a staggering $34/month MORE than the locker, putting it at a whopping $64/month. There was no chance in hell I was paying that price and got my stuff and left quickly. An hour and a half of my life wasted, mostly waiting on an "appointment" set by the office manager only to find out that they're renting little cubby holes for the same price as other storage places rent a 5x10 or larger. On top of that, the building doesn't seem very secure. The sliding glass door at the front entrance isn't locked so anyone can walk in and out. And there is a small access door that leads to the storage units that is supposed to be locked but doesn't seem to close all the way. The whole time I was waiting, I probably could have let myself in and wandered the aisles. Do yourself a favor. Go somewhere else. You can do MUCH better than Public Storage. read more

Note: This review is for 05/2020 TLDR: moving out suddenly during the height of the pandemic is extremely frustrating and it didn't help that the company wasn't financially transparent and customer service was incredibly horrendous; super unprofessional Due to the pandemic, I had to move out of Irvine earlier than expected but needed a place to store my belongings in between for when I return for my senior year of college. My old parents had to take time off work (which means losing income), drive down from the Bay Area to Irvine (7 hours/~400 miles), help me move all my belongings I've accumulated over the past 3 years of college (personal items and all of the furniture), help clean the apartment to avoid charges, and so much more. As you can imagine, it was an extremely stressful and tiring time. It did not help at all that the customer service was absolutely terrible. I had called the location prior to make sure I was prepared and booked an appointment since it was my first time renting a storage unit. On the phone, they were friendly and helpful about setting everything up. However, once we came there was a bunch of fees I was not informed about such as insurance and the lock. I was pretty surprised since I believe it is important to be transparent about the costs and it was not listed on the site, nor was I informed when I had called prior. Especially during this time when people are struggling financially and students were forced to leave their homes, this was really frustrating and inconsiderate. On top of that, the manager (I believe her name is Mariam or something similar, not sure if she works there anymore) was extremely rude. My parents are Asian immigrants and don't speak/understand English as well, so it was important to them they had their questions answered so they know what they're getting into. Since it was my first time renting, I was not as experienced and knowledgeable and wanted to translate to make sure they get the right information since my parents are the ones who were paying. When I would ask the manager questions, she was dismissive and direct me to their pamphlet. I had further questions but she did not try to explain anything which is disappointing because as a manager, I would expect her to be more informed and helpful. When more fees than anticipated came up, I was reasonably annoyed. I would bring to attention the charges and express that I was concerned about that issue. I consider myself as someone who is a friendly and mindful person who tries to be respectful towards employees, and wasn't being rude to her even if my tone is clear that I am bothered. However, I feel like she took that I was upset personally rather than seeing that I was express with the way the business was operating. She reacted inappropriately and rose her voice at us which is so disrespectful. She even threatened to cancel my booking when these issues could have been solved if she had initially been helpful and/or if corporate did a better job at being financially transparent. We ended up in an argument where I had to tell clarify the situation and tell her how she was treating us was not acceptable because I am not letting anyone speak to me nor my parents like that. Afterwards, she ended up apologizing so I hope since then she's improved on that. I get that someone might not be enthusiastic about their job, but I would think it would be common decently to be polite and try to help rather than how she acted. read more

Absolutely shameful business practices. All the 5 star reviews on google for this are because they specifically ask you to perform the review during checkout. After moving out early, they don't prorate a refund for the remaining days of the month. Bought a Damp Check from them, never used, not opened. They will not give a refund. It's very a nice and convenient storage over all. The people are nice. Downside: - The inside gate is broken. It doesn't stay opened, and it's frustrated if you are moving stuff all by yourself because you will have to keep opening the door everytime you go through it. - There is a bunch of addtional fees to add on. e.g. you will be told to get your own lock, or you can "choose" to buy one from them, monthly insurance... so on. - After moving out early, they don't prorate a refund for the remaining days of the month. (((This upsets me the most))) These are just facts, and I am not over exaggerating anything. read more

I like the location, the cleanliness of the units and the easy access through the app. The only problem I have is that there are not enough carts (four total) for the building. I had my full rental truck and my workers ready to go, but had to come back the next day because the -carts were taken. I was told that they would be needed for hours. I lost money and time, and wasn't happy as a new customer. If they bring in a couple more carts, I would give them a five star rating. read more

The security at this location and all of their locations is seriously lacking. Everything I had in storage was stolen. They have no cameras inside, not one. They have been asked by employees to get more cameras and they refuse to do so. A locksmith walked in with me and cut my lock off with no questions from the office. Unless you want your stuff stolen, do not ever use any of these locations. read more

The manager, Margaret, is fantastic! She was incredibly helpful over the phone explaining the storage size and rules. I was so comfortable talking to her that I rented the space online sight unseen. Margaret is the manager at this location and was extremely helpful and made the transition easy. This location never has anyone on-site to help customers. Their customer service sucks. They also like to charge customers for a month's rent on an empty unit the customers are not using . I can't say that the corporate office is any better. Customer service is not good all the way around. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. There is plenty of other storage facilities with better customer service that aren't looking to rip off customers. Margaret (I believe was her name) was every bit as amazing and helpful as I had read in previous reviews. This location is a hassle to deal with; and not entirely honest. First, their units are oddly shaped so that you don't get the full size that's listed. Some units are such a scam - like the 7.5' x 10' units that are triangle shaped, so you only get half the space you're paying for. Then, payments a pain to make (& so is telling them you're moving out) - likely so that they can charge late fees. Brittany, the manager, will tell you she's setting up an online account for you when you sign the contract. But this isn't true - you'll need to spend 30 mins calling the call center to be able to set-up the online account. Beware read more

Guess I should have said no when I felt like I was being hustled. Made a reservation for the 5/9 to move in. Sometimes afterward, some guy called and see if they can move us in on 5/2. So I told the guy that at best, I can get the paper work done. Then they sent me an email saying that my move in date is now 5/2. I thought "wow, they're desperate for money". They called me when I did not show up so I told them that no, the reservation I made online for my move in is 5/9 and I will not be paying rent on an unit I am not ready to move into. Don't be fooled by the initial move in fee, they tell you need other things within the minute after you have signed the contract with them. That includes the required insurance. I moved in yesterday and our appointment was 11:00 am. The door was locked until 11:20 because the manager was away despite we could see both the girls inside. Whatever, just wanted to get a unit and get on with my day. The girl showed us around and told us that we were required to have a lock to which we said that it was fine, we will provide the lock. Before we left, she tried to sell us a jar of Damp Check for 7.99 per jar. (Is it laced with crack or something?) We said no to that. We went back to the unit with a Master lock and the same size jar of Damp Check that we brought from Home Depot for $2.49 the same day. (Actually, you can find everything that they sale there, boxes, wrapping supplies for a fraction of the price at a home depot which is within 2 miles away) The next morning, I got a call from them saying that I must have a cylinder lock and I can't use a master lock because despite the fact that it locked perfectly because there's a hole that you can see through. So what? Just because you can see doesn't mean that you can touch. So I printed out the page of the contract in regards to security of the unit and went back to the unit to see if there are ways for me to comply such as by covering the hole as the lock already met the requirement of the contract as stated. They placed their lock in and informed me that I must paid for the lock they put in. So I asked the girl in the office that where in the written contracts (see picture) does it say that the lock must be a cylinder lock or that if there are holes, it must be covered with a cylinder lock. So the girl said that she didn't know the page of the contract that I was referring to and that she called her manager in front of us saying that I am not understanding the contract to which I've read and signed which apparently includes an invisible line that refer to a cylinder lock that is not visible to any reader except this girl and the management whenever that they choose to revise the terms of written contract as they so please. She even asked the manager on the phone where on the contract the lock requirement is located. Both my boyfriend and I could see that they obviously didn't know because it's not in there and the manager referred her to the same section (3.2) where it said nothing about the cylinder lock which she read to herself. How can I be the one who does "not understanding the contract" to which that she or her manager can not even point out the specific requirement within the confinement of 6 pages of the contract that their legal department went lazy on because it is not even in tiny print or in arcane legal language? She then made an appeal to authority of "because my manager said so and I'm doing my job!" Apparently according to her, both my boyfriend and I, both Master degree holders, are mentally incompetent and have problems understanding things. I was not trying to make things difficult for any underlings and I'm definitely not the type to do so but I can only let so much slide and it was just the beginning and as a customer, I do not abide what her manager told her but by the written contract which I've signed and agreed to and so is Public Storage as a business entity. I told the girl that I'm canceling the rental and they should refund the amount and the girl shouted at my boyfriend and I that it was on us if Public Storage choose to not abide the written contract and "I'm not arguing with you any further" on a contract that she clearly did not read at all. As far as I'm concerned as a CPA also know a bit about written contracts as well (Thanks, Regulation section of CPA exam), the contract has been voided by Public Storage's actions and I'll be calling my credit card company to dispute the charge on my card. Don't do business with these people. There are other storage units within one mile of this one. Condescending, money hungry and deceitful. And oh yeah as of 5/10/2020, only one elevator was working. read more

Sadly they said I didn't get insurance even though I remember talking to the person about it on the phone when I got the unit. I wish I had read the reviews BEFORE doing business here. It's a fairly new facility, clean and generic. The downside, and it is a HUGE DOWNSIDE, is the staff/management. I thought that shouldn't matter-I'm just here to store stuff and I won't interact with them. How wrong I was. There's a reason this location has bad reviews for years: it is terrible. I blame management and staff for their rude, intrusive, judgemental, arrogant, shameful interactions with paying customers. So I took my business elsewhere and couldn't be happier. My bad for not checking yelp ahead of signing the contract. Shame on corporate for not responding considering how far back their bad reviews apparently go! read more

Truth- it is pretty bad! I have two units here and bathrooms are always what a mess with no toilet paper, they say there's always one only working also ones always out of order. The elevator has not worked for more than 6 months. Door timer to hold door does not work. They asked for my ID FOR CART Ransom and them went to lunch 10 mins after they took my ID. I was on my way to the office, I had to wait over an hour for someone to return to give me my ID back. On a 1 to 10 this place is probably a 1. The only good thing is my storage is nice and clean and it is temperature controlled inside. They really need someone to work on the maintenance! They also give you a great rate to get in and then raise it hundred dollars shortly after moving. Everyone does different rules. It is not a great storage due to elevators and lack of bathroom avail to use! read more
