A good friend of mine was forced to vacate her apartment in Los Angeles several months ago due to cancer and strokes. Her possessions were placed in a Public Storage facility near the hospital she was in by a mutual friend. She moved in with me to finish her recovery and we decided to move her things down to Aliso Viejo into this Public Storage facility. I also wanted to put some of my possessions into this unit to make room for some of my friend's furniture in my house. Imagine my surprise when Kat refused to rent me (or my friend) a unit at the promotional price because my friend had items in the Los Angeles facility. We then spoke with the manager, Jennifer. She had a very smug and content look on her face also denying us this promotional rate. She said that we had "tipped them off" as if we were criminals and that is exactly how we were treated. I have never done business before with Public Storage. For her to deny me the promotional rate is discrimination and illegal in the State of California. I will be calling the district manager on Monday morning to file a complaint. If I don't get satisfaction, I will be taking legal action. I am urging everyone not to do business with the Public Storage facility. After reading some of the other reviews, I can see that I am not alone in this assessment. I am giving them one star and that is only because I am not able to give them negative stars. What they fail to realize is that without customers like us, they are out of a job. Abdullah helped me check-in and was incredibly professional and helpful. It was one of those experiences that remind you of how long it has been since you've had such a good customer service interaction. He made the whole experience very simple, even showing me several different units on different floors to make sure that I was satisfied with my choice. Overall, the facility is secure, well-lit, clean, and feels "new." It is massive, so getting to your storage unit can take a while, but Abdullah helped me find the closest available unit to the elevator. Access hours end at 9pm, and although I would like it to be a little later, the location was more important to me. It's right off the freeway, which is convenient. Their prices are competitive if you reserve online. Unfortunately for me, the unit that I initially reserved was a corner unit with only a half-size door, which wasn't mentioned on the website. However, when I mentioned my concerns about that to Abdullah, he showed me another unit that was only a few dollars more and had a full-size door. This was in no way a deal-breaker, and due more to my own expectations than any fault on their part. It's just something to remember when booking online. read more

If you are a contractor or in any profession that requires you to access your unit before 9am and after 6pm, who has to move stuff in and out on regular basis, go elsewhere or bring your own carts to move your stuff This facility does not provide access to carts after-hours. O, and by the way, there are thieves renting here, thieves that stole all the 30+ carts that used to be available, and guess what, they have them stored inside their units that are currently being rented from Public Storage If you feel safe renting from a place who has thieves renting from them and stealing their carts and storing them in their units, so me and you have no access to them, go ahead and rent from this place. Who knows, the thieves might even stalk you or kill you while you are in your storage unit getting stuff as there are no cameras in any of the hallways and no one would have a clue if anything happened in those corridors. After-all, that is exactly how all those carts were stolen in the first place No security whatsoever. I feel threatened and unsafe when i go there after-hours Time to move out and let someone else get attacked by cart thieves. No security at all read more

This place will take your money with NO EXPLANATION....... I have had a unit here for 26 Months.... My rental rate WAS 23$ a month..... I typacly will have 4 to 5 Months worth of rent PREPAID so that I dont have to remember to pay these crooks all the time,. They have done EVERYTHING in their power to swindle my money. Because in the 26 months I have used them MY RENT IS NOW MORE THEN 100% Higher then when I started. and PER THEIR OWN INVOICES I have paid them in ESSEX of 900$ when It should be like 600$ WHen I ask how they have dont through the money THEY HAVE NO EXPLANATION and I Inform them THAT THEY SOME TIMES BILL ME 2 Times in a month They try to deny it BUT I SHOW THEM THEIR OWN INVOICES PROVING IT.... They told me to take them to court They don't care...... Long story SHORT DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE AND YOUR RENT WILL DOUBLE in less then 600 Days.... read more

I reserved a storage unit online via their website and within 10 minutes I received a call from Ashley to make an appointment to view the facility. She gave me a very informative tour and was happy to answer my many questions (I have no experience with any type of public storage let alone renting anything in general). If you're new to Public Storage, just note that you have to buy your lock from them which is a one time fee of about $25. Also, insurance is required through either: (1) Your homeowners' off-site storage coverage or (2) Public Storage's insurance (which is $11 a month on top of your rent). Other than those fees I was unaware of, everything went smoothly and I am extremely happy with the first-floor 10' x 5' space I got today. Thanks Ashley! read more

This facility is so beautiful and neatly kept! There is absolutely no fun in moving, but having come to this facility showed me that moving isnt so bad. Barbara was so helpful and knowledgeable. She was able to show me the east in moving and boxing. She was able to suggest what I needed. I have recommended this facility to many others, not only because of the niceness of the facility, but the wonderful customer service I received. Definitely 10 out of 10! read more
