Door was forced open while locked.

Awful experience. My unit was broken into earlier this year and I had irreplaceable items stolen. When I went to report it the manager on duty had heard someone in my unit with the damaged door closed (see pic). Manager said she notified the thief in my unit that they would have to pay for the damage to the door but didn't think that maybe someone was breaking in?!? Manager said they knew what time the break-in occurred so maybe there was security footage. When I went back the next week to ask about the footage she said she had been "too busy to review it" but that maybe the police would come and investigate it (never heard from them either). Public Storage never reached out to apologize after the break-in but I did get a postcard notifying me of yet another rent increase which was now reaching double the rate of when I moved in. When I moved out they charged me for an additional month and when I called about it they said there was still a lock on my unit (it wasn't mine as I removed mine when I moved out). I have called and left messages about getting a refund and haven't heard back. The bottom line about this place is they don't care about you or your personal stuff, just their income stream.

    Way to go public storage

Wow. We have had a storage unit since November 2020 at which time there were three dollies. For the past several months, there is one dollie for the several hundred storage units - and there is a crack in it. I've contacted management at least twice. Now there is a Trader Joe's shopping cart in addition to the single dollie. Very frustrating to try and move things in and out without a dollie. What a waste of $271 a month. Moving out and strongly advise against using this facility.

There has been a known rodent problem since September that management has failed to properly address or communicate to tenants. Several of my belongings were damaged, and others exposed to mice excrement as pictured. The only response from management has been to place glue traps, which do nothing to resolve the larger issue. When I requested to move units because of the infestation, I was initially offered a new one at a higher rate, which I found shocking and poor customer service, and then moved to another unit on the same floor--only to find that one quickly infested as well. Despite acknowledging the rodent issue, management offered no meaningful assistance or compensation beyond insurance that didn't cover the extent of the damage. This experience was extremely disappointing. Avoid storing your items here, and if you are currently stored on the 3rd floor, I would strongly suggest checking your items for signs of rodents.

Construction of the facility makes perfect sense. The main office is located on the first floor, next to three large garage doors. You can back vehicles into the garage bay to unload, out of any inclement weather. Each bay door can be individually opened via keypad access code. There are also two sliding doors--one inside the garage bay, and the other on the opposite side of the building. Both require an access code. Near each entrance is an elevator. Individual floors, other than the first, are restricted by access code. There are also a few carts available for customer use. There appear to be at least 4 storage floors. Customer access is from 6am to 9pm. The managing staff are onsite. The storage units and each floor appear to be quite pristine. Climate control is set to keep the storage facility between roughly 65F and 78F. For newer rented units, they are transitioning to cylinder lock and key; no more lock combinations to remember or pad locks. The facility requires you to insure the belongings that you wish to store. They will automatically enroll you in an insurance policy at $12 a month for $2000 coverage. However, if you have your own insurance (e.g. renters) that covers property in storage, you can provide them a declarations page, and they will accept that. Other than that, there are one time fees for a lock (if you don't have a cylinder lock of your own) and an administrative setup fee. Rent is prorated for the move-in month, and then turns into month-to-month. So that means if you have to move out, move out by the last day of the month, otherwise you'll be charged for another month if you still occupy the unit on the 1st of the next month. Finally, there appears to be at least 4 pricing tiers for identical units, based on location in the storage facility. So you may wish to check out multiple units and their locations within the facility that strikes a balance between desired size, location, and price. Overall: well-designed, secure, and well-maintained.

WARNING: DO NOT RENT HERE…read more After only 2 months of renting a unit here I was informed via email of an arbitrary 35% INCREASE in the per month cost of the unit, which the company slipped into their terms and agreements that they can do at any time, regardless of what the going market rate is. I was going to rent the unit for a year total, but would be paying $500+ at the end of the year to rent here versus any other facility on the exact same street. Instead of paying $89/mo for a 10x10 unit, you should go right across the street to: ExtraSpace Storage - $62/mo for the same unit CubeSmart Storage - $51/mo for the same unit PublicStorage - $61/mo for the same unit SecureSpace Self Storage - $72/mo for the same unit The company is apparently under new management, and the new corporate owners are terribly greedy and won't provide a lower Paid-In-Full rate either even if you have the resources to do so, or any other reasonable compromise. They are banking on it being too inconvenient for their current customers to move their stuff for a better rate elsewhere, and profiting off busy people who don't have the time to rent a truck and move their things out of one storage facility across the street for another. They have lost my business, and I hope you don't make the mistake of giving them yours and then having to pay 35% more for no reason whenever they feel like charging you. Just go literally anywhere else - I guarantee you will find a lower rate for the exact same quality of unit.
