The facility is easy to access and the on-site staff are courteous, but I strongly advise against storing your belongings here due to an ongoing rodent infestation and poor handling from management. There has been a known rodent problem since September that management has failed to properly address or communicate to tenants. Several of my belongings were damaged, and others exposed to mice excrement as pictured. The only response from management has been to place glue traps, which do nothing to resolve the larger issue. When I requested to move units because of the infestation, I was initially offered a new one at a higher rate, which I found shocking and poor customer service, and then moved to another unit on the same floor--only to find that one quickly infested as well. Despite acknowledging the rodent issue, management offered no meaningful assistance or compensation beyond insurance that didn't cover the extent of the damage. This experience was extremely disappointing. Avoid storing your items here, and if you are currently stored on the 3rd floor, I would strongly suggest checking your items for signs of rodents. read more

This storage facility appears to be fairly well-kept. It's very clean, has cameras everywhere, and access codes are required to get into the storage area, to access upper storage levels. Construction of the facility makes perfect sense. The main office is located on the first floor, next to three large garage doors. You can back vehicles into the garage bay to unload, out of any inclement weather. Each bay door can be individually opened via keypad access code. There are also two sliding doors--one inside the garage bay, and the other on the opposite side of the building. Both require an access code. Near each entrance is an elevator. Individual floors, other than the first, are restricted by access code. There are also a few carts available for customer use. There appear to be at least 4 storage floors. Customer access is from 6am to 9pm. The managing staff are onsite. The storage units and each floor appear to be quite pristine. Climate control is set to keep the storage facility between roughly 65F and 78F. For newer rented units, they are transitioning to cylinder lock and key; no more lock combinations to remember or pad locks. The facility requires you to insure the belongings that you wish to store. They will automatically enroll you in an insurance policy at $12 a month for $2000 coverage. However, if you have your own insurance (e.g. renters) that covers property in storage, you can provide them a declarations page, and they will accept that. Other than that, there are one time fees for a lock (if you don't have a cylinder lock of your own) and an administrative setup fee. Rent is prorated for the move-in month, and then turns into month-to-month. So that means if you have to move out, move out by the last day of the month, otherwise you'll be charged for another month if you still occupy the unit on the 1st of the next month. Finally, there appears to be at least 4 pricing tiers for identical units, based on location in the storage facility. So you may wish to check out multiple units and their locations within the facility that strikes a balance between desired size, location, and price. I rarely leave bad reviews but I'm forced to write one today. When you move in, it's prorated for for the month. When you move out they charge you the whole month... even if it's one day. They have a refund clause in your lease with terms that even if you meet they won't refund you... Kind of scummy. The owner was standoffish and rude. Lady in the phone was really rude to me and my mo when we called.this was our first time renting a storage unit and we called to ask how much they were.my mom is not the best English speaker and when she asked the lady she said "HUH, I CAN NOT UNDERSTAND NOTHING OF WHAT YOU SAID" and when I took over and asked her she said "I have absolutely no idea" I was so confused.She said "you know that they are by size right!?" She almost sounded like she was scolding me for not knowing that. We then asked if you could store a motorcycle because that was the main thing my family was wanting to store. "She said uh-uh of corse you can not a motorcycle here we do not accept motorcycles in these storage units" she was overall very rude to us and really wasn't helpful when trying to ask for information on renting a unit read more

I found an apartment to move into and called ahead of time to see if there was a certain time frame for giving notice. I was told 10 days. I called today to give my notice only to be told they charge for the full month and don't prorate out. I'm moving on the 19th so I'm paying for 11 days I'm not there. I wasn't told that when I called before AND THEY RAISED THE RENT. The apartments I'm moving into are taking advantage of me as well but don't have a choice, need a place to live. These people should be ashamed of themselves but they do it because they can. Their excuse is that "its there job" Don't know how they sleep at night. read more

My experience with ATX self storage has been ideal. They are upfront about costs going into the contract so if you're okay with the things mentioned in previous reviews, you'll love this place. On my first night I got a call from a staff who was doing rounds at the facility and noticed that I didn't lock my unit properly, leaving it accessible. There are cameras EVERYWHERE inside so I felt safe enough to return in the AM to lock it properly. I've had several positive interactions with the managers and they've proven to be fair and reasonable with various requests. They have monthly giveaways through social media. Not to mention, we priced out every storage facility in a 10 mile radius and this was the most affordable. This place is solid. read more

You can see that she has left other fake reviews for other storage facilities. As others have noted, managers are not particularly kind and are apparently bound by corporate policies that are anything but customer friendly. Not content to simply raise your rate and keep it well above the rate received by new renters, ATX will hit you with late fees, send you a single automated reminder the day before the fee is imposed (not any other time during the preceding the five days), and then refuse to waive the fee when you call the next day to make your payment. Not particularly helpful if you, like me, work long hours during the week. According to management, they have an actual corporate policy that says management may waive a late fee twice a year (they get a lot of them) but never more than that, even if you call them the very next day to make payment. One of the current managers implied that her job depended upon collecting the late fee and the previous manager was let go for not being a big enough late fee nazi. Yeah, it's the deal I made, but it's still a racket. They will not negotiate your rate and are more interested in collecting late fees than securing prompt payment. And no, they will not provide a phone number for their corporate office. I am finally biting the bullet and making arrangements to move my stuff out though I live in a different city. Wish I had never made the mistake of renting here. read more

The reason for 4 instead of 5 stars was because there's a one-time initiation fee, and the fact that they don't pro-rate you out of the lease.
