Will NEVER use Public Storage again. I closed out my storage unit the morning of November 2, 2024 and that same day a payment was processed for $255.00 for the NEXT month. I spoke with a customer service rep and was made aware of the 'No Refunds or Prorations' in the rental agreement and am absolutely not pleased to find this out. I also had mold on multiple boxes in a climate controlled unit (see pictures). I gave business to Public Storage for over two years with on time payments always. Bare minimum. read more

This is a terrific storage facility. It's very clean, well-maintained and the options for units are great. Inside units are in hallways with lights that turn on when you enter. I've never had them turn off on me unexpectedly. The units have high ceilings so you can maximize your storage space. You use their secure locks, so there is very little chance of anyone breaking into your unit. The roads between buildings easily accommodate two vehicles side by side with adequate space for moving. The inside unit hallways are wide enough to allow you to move your loaded dolly around a different direction without hitting a wall. The facility provides you with a unique 7-digit entry code which you use to enter and exit. This keeps non customers out. They also open the facility early and close late. I had a situation where I lost my credit card and hadn't realized that I was using it to pay my unit fee. They didn't let my unit go past due and charge me late fees. They called me and let me know the charge was declined. Now that's customer service! This office takes care of their own customers--not some faceless call center based out of state. read more

I wish I could give this place 0 stars. This place has been nothing but filthy- I have had various storage units in the past in multiple places and this has been by far the worst. Every single one of my boxes were filled with cockroach eggs, and cockroaches. Unfortunately I did not expect this (obviously) and am dealing with exterminating cockroaches in my new apartment. This storage place definitely has a bug issue. They need to spray/ maintain the area better. My items were only here for 3 months. Wish I wouldn't have stored here- waste of money. read more

Went to grab an item from my unit. There was a lock on the unit that was not mine. I figured some clerical error had occurred, I went to the office. This is at 10:15am. No one was there. I called and left a message to call me as this was a somewhat urgent matter. No response within an hour. Tried calling back every 30 minutes. Finally get someone around 1 pm. She tells me that she will go assess the situation. Another hour goes by. I decided to go ahead and head up there. She apologized that she had not had the time to look. We walk back and I show her my unit and the public storage labeled circular lock which was not mine. She informs me that it is one of the locks they sell, but not one they use for a lockout. She tells me I can submit a request to have it cut off, which will take 30+ days. I verify that since it's not a lockout that I can remove the lock at my discretion and am told yes. I removed the lock and luckily my items were intact, however had been gone through. Some background: My family had owned 2 locations of storage facilities from about mid 80s to around 2015. I am very familiar with the business. Looking around the area, they only have a camera on the front door and driveway/parking lot. No cameras covering the "emergency " exits. ALL the locks on 98% on the units were of the exact same. I've seen this before. Looking at the sliding hasp on my unit, it was plain as day. You can see the fresh marks where my lock was cut and a different lock put in its place. The same was evident with many of the other units. Mind you, all these locks were stickered Public Storage . I inquired about any recent thefts, was told "I can't tell you that". Wrong! They are obligated to. Here's where you will really have to speculate for yourself if I'm correct or not. The fact that the surveillance is very lacking, many locks being obviously changed, they are about to be burglarized. With all the locks being the same, it's most likely an employee or an associate of an employee. These locks are not inexpensive when purchased from the storage company, hence I find it odd that many, if not all of the 20 units I looked at had them. Home Depot has better locks for less. A short walk confirmed all large units had these crappy locks, most with fresh cut marks on the hasps. I go share this information with the employee. She had the most laissez-faire attitude possible. I'm tired of typing on my phone, so I will sum it up now. This place does not care about its customers, their belongings or even an upfront warning accompanied by physical evidence that they are going to be hit hard by thieves. You would do better somewhere else. I got anything of value out of the unit and put 2 very good locks on. Rick, if you see this review, feel free to reach out. I know you've only been the area manager for about 2.5 years, but it looks like what's about to go down is this: One person is videoed entering, others let in through the non videoed, non alarmed emergency exits, changed locks opened, contents illegally removed via same emergency exit, and one person n video exiting empty handed. read more

Tommie rocks! I kept a small space here for my bed and frame. I thought it would only be for a month or two, but a year and a half later I went back to get it. Condition was great, even though I hadn't done anything to protect it from the elements (highly recommend that you don't do what I did - - always protect your stuff!). I rented my space over the app super fast and easy. My storage unit was a clean when I move in. When I vacated my unit it was after office hours all I did was send email through the public storage app to let them know which I think is amazing that no one has to be there or you feeling rush while vacating. The people at this location are very helpful. I was helped by Lane and he ran me through and explained everything clearly. I give 5 stars to the staff, but unfortunately have to give only 3 overall because of the space. Partially my fault as I should have looked at the space before signing the papers. Although it was an "indoor" space at the end of the line, it was very musty and damp requiring moisture absorbers be placed in the space and replaced at the required intervals. There was no apparent moisture or water in the space, but I didn't feel comfortable leaving furniture there. I'm sure there were better spaces in the main building that may have been better suited on the 2nd floor, but this location has no elevator which makes this a definite no. I found an indoor location better suited to my needs. The staff there were also very helpful and understanding about not keeping the space (I had just had it a week and thankfully hadn't moved everything in yet). Even though my experience wasn't great, I believe I can recommend them to others. PLEASE check the space before you sign! lol. Remember you get what you pay for... read more

This place is terrible. I have some space here for my business, and it has been ok but isn't the best. Today I tried to reserve some space here for my Mom. After playing phone tag with some individual that sounded like they were calling from their car in heavy traffic, he told me he would not honor the promotional rate that they quoted and that I reserved even after I explained that my mom and my business were completely different people. Very sad to encounter this type of sleazy "bait and switch" business practice. Looks like I will be finding a new company for my storage needs. read more

This place is a little hard to find, you have to keep going down Research Blvd and it's on the right before Research Blvd goes under the 183 and goes the other direction. I've only had my stuff here for a month and a half, so I haven't yet experienced the rate increases some others are talking about. Also Tommie was who I dealt with and he was friendly and nice. The only small complaint was that he was the only one working that day so when I first got there he was showing a unit to someone else and there was a sign on the door that said he would be back in 10 minutes so I did have to wait a bit. Also, only certain units are eligible for that $1 for the first month deal so check up on that before you make your decision. Overall, pretty good experience. UPDATE 3/16/16: I just removed my stuff from this unit. It wasn't the fault of Public Storage, I just bought a house and have more space to store stuff now. I just want to say there were no rate increases on my particular unit for about 2 years which I think is all you can really expect. Also, Tommie is nice and helpful. The same small complaint about there not always being someone at the office still applies though. read more

The staff asked me several months back to go to Yelp and review their services. Well, they're getting what they asked for. I was happy with my storage unit until Public Storage continually raised my rent every few months. The price was fair to begin with, even after the promotional deal expired, but after repeated rent increases, I had enough. I called them to tell them that I wasn't happy with the rent increases and that if we couldn't keep my rent at a reasonable rate, that I would terminate my lease with them. The gentleman I spoke with was nice, but he had no interest in retaining me as a tenant. I won't be going back to Public Storage...I'd rather sell my belongings than give them another dime. Staff not very friendly at all. Alice is, but the others are not. Told me that insurance was required even though home owners insurance would cover the unit. It wasn't until I was initialing everything in the contract portion that I told him for a second time that I wanted to decline their $9/mo insurance and he seemed put off as if I didn't tell him from the beginning that I did not want it. He also assumed I was buying a lock from them ($17) when I had brought my own. The upstairs units are not in very good shape, the stairs are fairly wide and hallways are pretty wide as well. The unit inside had insulation falling from the ceiling and the vent on the front door was broken. The price is right but you get what you pay for. read more

Hey I met Tommie in November 15 when we put my daughter's things in storage, he has always been very professional and helpful with info about policy, storage phone numbers if I needed anything. Then when I moved out of the storage unit, the last trip out, I lost my help, me being a 65 yr woman, but capable of moving boxes had a 6 ft couch to get out. It's hard to get excited about a storage unit. I mean, you need it to do what you need it to do. For me the insurance was a good thing, though I have renters insurance, I'm not sure how well it would cover a storage unit. I'm trying to buy a home and moving things in slowly from multiple places because reasons. So I need a place that isn't my tiny apartment to gather things into one place and hopefully make it easier if and when I get a house. I hope not to have to be renting for too long, so I hope the rate stays where it is. I don't think I got any promotion other than the first month free so I'm ok with that. I feel bad about forgetting the woman's name who helped me get set up (I've yet to fill out the review card she gave me) but she was very nice and helpful, explained all the details to me, and made sure I was ok with the unit as it isn't very big (I have very little large furniture, and most of the furniture I care about is in my apartment so I'll probably move it from there and then get the stuff from storage in a different move. Anyway, that's more about me than the facility, but perhaps it explains why some of the concerns other people have don't apply for me. I can't argue with the price currently, I don't really need climate control for anything I plan on putting there (some of it has been sitting outside in a shed or in a garage as it is... think lawn equipment, shop vacs, tools, things you don't bring to your 600 sq ft apt in another country when you leave your house). But if you need climate control they don't have it here, so there's that. So far everyone has been really nice. It's an annoying thing to do, and a hassle in general, so anything that makes it nicer is a plus. I like that they have some one on site at all times. I like the location, though everything under 183 is awkward to get to, it's very central which is what I need because I'm leaving the part of town I currently live in (hopefully) but don't know where I'm going yet. read more

The lady at the desk, Theresa, has the worst attitude I've ever come across in any kind of business I've been too. She raised her voice at us and talked in a condescending way. Prices that were quoted were not honored and a reservation was cancelled because we didn't "pick up the phone". When asked to speak to the manager she gave us the 1-800 number to corporate and when asked to lower her voice she said that she's from New York and that's the reason why she speaks loud. I'm hoping it is not the case but we felt a strong sense of racial profiling being an interracial couple. Please stay away from this business. Now that the contract is expiring, they have called us to make arrangements to either empty the storage room or extend the ease.
