There has been a known rodent problem since September that management has failed to properly address or communicate to tenants. Several of my belongings were damaged, and others exposed to mice excrement as pictured. The only response from management has been to place glue traps, which do nothing to resolve the larger issue. When I requested to move units because of the infestation, I was initially offered a new one at a higher rate, which I found shocking and poor customer service, and then moved to another unit on the same floor--only to find that one quickly infested as well. Despite acknowledging the rodent issue, management offered no meaningful assistance or compensation beyond insurance that didn't cover the extent of the damage. This experience was extremely disappointing. Avoid storing your items here, and if you are currently stored on the 3rd floor, I would strongly suggest checking your items for signs of rodents.

This storage facility appears to be fairly well-kept. It's very clean, has cameras everywhere, and…read moreaccess codes are required to get into the storage area, to access upper storage levels. Construction of the facility makes perfect sense. The main office is located on the first floor, next to three large garage doors. You can back vehicles into the garage bay to unload, out of any inclement weather. Each bay door can be individually opened via keypad access code. There are also two sliding doors--one inside the garage bay, and the other on the opposite side of the building. Both require an access code. Near each entrance is an elevator. Individual floors, other than the first, are restricted by access code. There are also a few carts available for customer use. There appear to be at least 4 storage floors. Customer access is from 6am to 9pm. The managing staff are onsite. The storage units and each floor appear to be quite pristine. Climate control is set to keep the storage facility between roughly 65F and 78F. For newer rented units, they are transitioning to cylinder lock and key; no more lock combinations to remember or pad locks. The facility requires you to insure the belongings that you wish to store. They will automatically enroll you in an insurance policy at $12 a month for $2000 coverage. However, if you have your own insurance (e.g. renters) that covers property in storage, you can provide them a declarations page, and they will accept that. Other than that, there are one time fees for a lock (if you don't have a cylinder lock of your own) and an administrative setup fee. Rent is prorated for the move-in month, and then turns into month-to-month. So that means if you have to move out, move out by the last day of the month, otherwise you'll be charged for another month if you still occupy the unit on the 1st of the next month. Finally, there appears to be at least 4 pricing tiers for identical units, based on location in the storage facility. So you may wish to check out multiple units and their locations within the facility that strikes a balance between desired size, location, and price. Overall: well-designed, secure, and well-maintained.

I've had my items here only 3 months and apparently someone possibly an employee broke in and stole…read moreall my tools. I think it's really odd there was no sign of break other than them removing my lock nothing was broken on the door. But I was late with my payment so they broke my lock off and placed their own lock, then when I paid up they left an extra lock in the unit. It appeared they threw the replacement lock on the floor on top of all my things that had been thrown and scattered all over the floor from the break in. Honestly it feels like they were the ones that went in and took all my tools that I use to make a living. I think they were trying to recoup money since they thought I wasn't going to pay before they auctioned it off. It's really some bs and my instincts are strong about this one. I believe it was broken into last week. If yall had your unit on Victor street broken into on the third floor last week, I would definitely call to complain to the owner or the corporate office for public storage on Victor street in Austin tx. Especially if you were about to go into auction or were late on your payment. I think it's wrong that there are no cameras in the halls of this place and what's the point of have onsite property managers or anything if they aren't reporting the storages being broken into or calling the owners. Why do we have to go to our storage a month later to find everything missing. I really feel they either go in or have someone go in for them to steal. There was a suspicious dude outside when I went he was literally sitting in his truck just watching people drive in and out. He wasn't security or maintenance. I have half a mind to sit and watch for suspicious behavior because I paid to have peace of mind and my peace is gone along with 5,000.00 worth of my tools!!!!! I covered my tools in blankets that's why it feels it was an inside job. The main items missing were my tools mechanic tools and a back pack containing all my medical records and birth certificates of my children's. I have OCD and my storage was neatly organized so I know exactly what was taken. I read some where that public storage takes your legal docs or medical paperwork out of the storage before it goes to auction. I'm pretty sure it was an employee went took my valuable things along with the back pack so they could pass it off as normal procedure. They didn't count on me paying my bill before the cutt off date.

It's a larger facility. Exits are marked, but I'd also like signage pointing to the front entry, differentiated from side exits that open to the outside. My unit had some dust/powder stuff on the side floor but pretty minor. Manager is friendly and courteous.

I got a text message a few days before the potential move in date asking if I wanted to continue with reservation or cancel it. It gave the option of Y to continue or reply N to cancel. I replied N and surprisingly received a message back saying " may I ask why you want to cancel?" I responded with explaining that I am moving into an apartment, have no idea when I can come back to it and will most likely just send my belongings out of state. They sent me a message the next morning to complete the reservation so apparently they did not cancel when I requested and they clearly received my message. It seems they have an extremely aggressive sales practice coming across as desperate and disrespectful.

Rat issue. Rat issue. Rat issue…read more I noticed there were traps in the front of the store but not towards my storage unit area. I was utterly disgusted to see rat droppings, urine, and massive holes in boxes that housed my priceless possessions. My trip was to drop a few winter items and instead witnessed this repulsive horror. Managers failed to offer any solutions or options besides "We know this is a problem" and "We can move you to climate control units". No. No I do not want to move. My stuff is ruined and the best option is to move it? Cubesmart failed miserably to notify me as a tenant and at minimal send an email letting me know there is a rat infestation. Their negligence has resulted in my items being ruined and probably laced with diseases carried from rats. I have attempted several times to reach out to management to find a solution like them helping clean/move my items into truck, etc. Any smidge of customer service would be helpful besides no options. This is the worst storage unit facility and I strongly discourage anyone from renting a unit with them. You will be disappointed and probably get rats in your unit as well. You've been warned.

Absolutely DO NOT rent a unit here. There is never anyone in…read morethe office during business hours, and they do not answer the phone or return calls. It has been impossible to reach a real person for months. My rent started at under $200/month and has now increased to $358/month with insurance, yet the level of service has been nonexistent. My unit was broken into FOUR MONTHS AGO (October). After the break-in, the facility placed a new lock on my unit. Since then, I have been completely unable to access my own belongings because no one is ever on site and no one will call me back to coordinate access. I am literally being forced to keep paying rent on a unit I cannot access and do not even know what was stolen from. I need to: * Access my unit * Document what was stolen * File a police report * File an insurance claim (through the insurance THEY require me to pay for) * Remove my belongings and close the unit I even tried withholding rent just to get someone to contact me. Instead, they added late fees -- and I STILL cannot reach anyone. This has been an incredibly frustrating and stressful experience. I just want to get my belongings and stop paying for a unit I can't access. Avoid this facility at all costs. PLEASE CALL ME BACK so I can stop paying this and get the hell out of here.

The positives: -Unlimited Mileage and you just pay for one small fee (unless you don't want any additional add-ons. -The truck had a full tank of gas and I returned it with a full tank as a courtesy for the next person. -They had the option to keep the truck for three days and not just two which Uhaul had a big issue with. It's just not possible to return the truck within two days if I am moving from city to city since the city I moved to was 3 hours away from Austin. On the other hand, Penske provided the option to return the truck in the new city and not Austin. However, Uhaul had a problem with this and wanted me to return the truck in Austin by the second day. That sounds very stressful!! -The truck was very clean and spacious. I ended up getting the 12'Truck which allowed me to move out of a 698 sqft apartment. Negative: -There was only one worker at this location and he appeared to be burned out with his work. He was tired and did not speak much. He was a shell of a human. I say that Home Depot needs to make sure that there are more than one worker in the area so that he has someone else helping him out. However, when I returned it to the location in the newer city, the workers were much more lively and provided conversation. However, the truck was ready and he even drove the truck closer to the store so that it would be easy to access. I highly recommend Penske with your moving needs!
