I've been a customer for over a year and the property manager Nechelle not only lives on site, but is incredible. I didn't know what to quite expect for a storage center, but she's the reason I don't want to go anywhere else. Customer service makes or breaks an experience with any company, anywhere. She has been warm, friendly, fast, and efficient since day one. I've also had great experience with my unit. I did quite a bit of research before I chose them. They not only have cameras, but also Nechelle who lives on site. One of team members also informed me they walk the premises, and even sometimes check the locks to see if any have been swapped out. Horrendous Experience, Locked Out of Our Paid Unit, Zero Accountability We had one of the worst customer service experiences of our lives with US storage. After signing the contract, my husband tried to buy a lock from them--something completely standard--but none of their locks worked. They told us to bring our own, which we did. When we showed up on move-in day, with movers ready and all our belongings packed, we discovered they'd locked our paid unit and the facility was closed. Nobody would help us. Their so-called "support" simply told us to come back the next day, as though leaving a loaded moving truck waiting overnight was an acceptable solution. We were forced to scramble at the last minute to find a different storage unit (shout-out to CubeSmart for saving the day). This caused us extra costs in mover fees, wasted time, and a massive amount of stress. To top it off, they refused to refund us for a unit they made completely inaccessible. The level of disregard for our situation, the total lack of professionalism, and the refusal to correct their own mistakes is beyond appalling. If you value your time, money, and peace of mind, stay away from US storage. They are disorganized, unresponsive, and have no sense of accountability once they take your payment. This was an infuriating, stressful ordeal, and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. I'm looking into a lawyer to get the refund for a unit we could NEVER use! read more

What a scam. After three months at the advertised rate they more than doubled the cost to "keep up with the supply and demands of the market". So ridiculous. Just advertise the prices that you require to stay in business. Why make a practice of deceiving people and then taking advantage of them once their stuff is on your property. I WAS ROBBED AND US STORAGE HAS NOT GIVEN ME ANY CLARITY ON HOW THEY WILL HANDLE THIS SITUATION. DO NOT USE THIS FACILITY OR COMPANY EVER. Buckle in Yelp reviewers because this is a horrible ride that I wish I could get off of. I will be stating facts as facts and speculation as speculation until we get full clarity from the Austin Police Department whom is already invested in this case. At that point I will update my review. I studied abroad in France last summer and needed to store all my apartment things in Austin since my parents house was in Houston. My dad is the one who chose US Storage according to good reviews as I was abroad. DO NOT LET THIS HAPPEN TO YOU. I was not aware of the blatant LACK OF SECURITY. There are NO SECURITY CAMERAS INSIDE and the footage of the exterior security cameras only hold up to 60 days prior locally (confirmed by the manager). The area is gated but there is a GIANT HOLE UNDER THE FENCE that anyone can sneak in under (photo included). Once inside the unit it is laughably easy to walk into the storage unit interior without a code because THE DOORS DO NOT SHUT FULLY (photos included). Here's where it gets crazy. An agent of the Austin Police Department speculated the criminal was a squatter since there were no signs of forced entry, an unknown pillow on my mattress and a cigarette butt on the floor which have since been sent off for DNA testing. There are GAPS IN THE CEILING OF THE UNITS (photo included) that someone used to crawl into my unit and potentially OCCUPIED MY UNIT WITH THE COMPANY COMPLETELY UNAWARE WHILE IM TRUSTING AND PAYING THEM TO PROTECT MY BELONGINGS. We discovered this 72 hours ago. I initially thought it was a burglary since at least ALL MY JEWELRY, MY TV AND MY UNDERWEAR WAS STOLEN and countless other meticulously packed boxes were ripped open and ransacked. One of the boxes that was ransacked and left exposed held my WORK DOCUMENTS, APARTMENT LEASES AND SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER PUTTING ME AT RISK FOR IDENTITY THEFT. Not to mention we are in a GLOBAL PANDEMIC and all my items have now been exposed to a cesspool of diseases. We have had to contact COVID specialists about how to clean the unit and they suggested for us to, per their expertise, "look out for needles" which is another potential risk we now face. We contacted the manager Nachelle of the property, who actually lives on property, and she did everything she could in her power which included putting in a request to get the entire security footage of the last year, which is the time frame that I was robbed and violated. We still do not know if the footage was sent over. We emailed the company and called their corporate headquarters. We were sent to voicemail every time and we left two voicemails already. The manager has confirmed that corporate has received our voicemails but STILL HAS NOT CONTACTED US except for an automated reply to a Yelp review suggesting to email the company which we had already done. Since this is the only way to get a response I expect to hear back from the company with full disclosure on how they are handling the situation and how they will take responsibility for their lack of security and for the last 72 hours of heartbreak I suffered over the invaluable items that can never be replaced including my sense of personal security. read more

I've also left DAILY voice mails with your corporate customer service, but they have not called me back. WHY ARE YOU GHOSTING ME?! We have filed a police report, crime scene invesigators have collected fingerprints and dna evidence, we have had a commercial Covid disinfection company inspect our belongings which will need to be professionally disinfected from potential contamination of Covid-19 and any other bio-hazards. They additionly warned us to be aware of possible needles as we sift through our ransacked clothing. Why? Because your LACK OF ADEQUATE SECURITY invited and welcomed a stranger to not only rob us but squat in our locked unit on your property and you didn't even notice! Here are some reasons that we have observed. A GAPING HOLE UNDER YOUR FENCE says crawl on in; once inside, stroll through our OPEN DOORS which didn't completely close; go undected because we have NO CAMERAS INSIDE to see you; now you can easily crawl through several inches of OPEN UNPROTECTED ACCESS at the top of our units; then help yourself to our PAYING CUSTOMER'S irreplacable jewelry, valuables, clean underwear, and soft bedding and make yourself at home and smoke your cigarette and get a good night's sleep before hitting the pawn shops with things we are paid to protect. I am currently renting a Storage center, and before I came to US STORAGE CENTER I did a bunch of research on different storage units in the area, I fortunately found US storage centers and was promptly greeted by Nechelle Phelps. Nechelle is the property manager at this particular storage unit. She not only was SUPER HELPFUL! She also displayed great acts of leader ship, consideration, and helpfulness while I was picking the unit. Honestly, the place itself is decent. The one star is because they have doubled my storage fee. I rented a unit at 77.50, I have never been late. I have home owner insurance that covers my items in storage. But without fail, every 2-3 months, they are debiting more and more money out of my account. You can't ever reach anyone. When we turn in our new yearly proof of insurance, nobody does anything with it, and then they charge us extra. Honesetly, I am over it. They are frauds, and I am tired of being stolen from. I am tired of them " rising " prices every 3 months. Or just charging more anytime they want. I rented the unit at 77.50 not 145.50. Its honestly disgusting. I can find better and I deserve better than these people. Honestly, who raises their prices every 3 months, like clockwork? It is my belief and opinion that they do this, because they know that nobody wants to have to move their stuff, and they are trying to see how high they can get it without you throwing a fit. Honestly, I have had a great experience with this location. It is very conveniently located in south Austin. Also, I liked the facility. It was easy to use and my storage unit was very nice. They even gave me a great price. I didn't live in town and needed a place that I could trust. One time, on their rounds they found my door was not locked properly so they notified me right away! The manager was so kind and helpful getting everything secure again. My rates did go up a few dollars but they told to me this could happen when I signed up. As I had to close out my space the manager Cameron was so efficient and considerate in making that process go as smoothly as possible. When I need another storage space I will definitely use this place again. read more

This place is ridiculous. The office is almost never open, they're always on some sort of break. Incredibly uncommunicative, no one told me the code to the front gate or the code to the building my unit is in. It's impossible to reach anyone even during regular office hours and it took 2 hours to move in even though I made an appointment because they had to wait for a "manager who knew how" to drive in from San Antonio. Once he got there, he took his sweet time to get me moved in. Definitely would not recommend. read more

2/13/18. When I was looking for a storage unit 8 months ago this was the cheapest==not sure now==It is a good place and felt very safe to be in after hours, especially since it is a small facility. Sam, the wonderful woman who works at the desk is organized, caring and a huge part of the attractiveness of the property. There are no sockets in the unit so getting a rechargeable, (best or battery operated) high powered light from Home Depot or Lowes is necessary if you are to be there at night. There are a few carts customers can use and the only bathroom is in the office and only open during office hours (5pm latest) One building has an elevator and is climate controlled=the others aren't. Also make sure to stow away all your codes and numbers as I was not able to get help over the phone late at night upon getting locked out. You must vacate the premises at 10pm. read more

Terrible, their posted hours rarely match the actual hours they are open. They continue to increase rent every few months. The link to pay online has given me incorrect amounts to pay and then charges a late fee for incorrect payment. Lastly, they don't answer the phone number they provide, it goes to an automated system and when you choose the option to speak to someone it goes to a busy signal. My rating went from 5 stars to 1 star! They increase your rent by $20 without warning. Today I went there and couldn't access my storage, as they decided to close the door on the first floor with a code. Of course like the rent they didn't bother communicating the new policy. The office is supposed to be open from 8 am till 5 pm on Saturday, but the extended lunch hour is not mentioned!!! It didn't use to be like that when the place was part of AAA Storage. I will move out from here as soon as I can organize it! read more

Do not rent a storage space here and please be aware of fake 5 reviews! Our small business suffered a severe loss due to the negligence of the personnel here. Not only was US Storage Centers fully aware of a sketchy individual who lived there, but allowed him to live there and did nothing for several months. I often felt unsafe in the evening with him around and when I and other tenants of the facility complained that he set up residence onsite we received the run around by an indifferent desk clerk. He ended up breaking into my unit and other units. The cops were called and police reports filed. US Storage has accepted responsibility, but has only offered $2500. In no way can this begin to cover the costs of replacement and has been detrimental to my business. read more

Let me start of by saying that it was a welcoming experience since me and my wife set foot threw the door. Cameron whom was very helpful with the whole experience left us feeling right at home.
