Pumpkin spice latte
Adrienne C.

Went here on a Sunday around 11am. It was pretty busy. Staff were nice and welcoming. I sat at a high table to charge my phone and it was wobbly. The two tables next to it were wobbly as well. Sucks when there isn't a lot of seating available because it's busy that there are so many of the tables that are not stable. I got an iced pumpkin latte and I wasn't impressed. It had an orange twirl in it and the flavor from that overpowered the pumpkin. It tasted more like a spiced orange latte. The spices from the bottom of the cup also flew to the back of my throat so that was off putting. I like sitting in here and reading so I did that for a bit but I was disappointed with my drink this time around. Lastly, the water station was not tended to. There was one glass available and the area for collecting dishes was overfilled. It just wasn't as clean and organized as I'm used to seeing.

The space itself is beautiful - very open, full of natural light, and covered in plants which gave it such a bright, inviting vibe. I also loved that they carry items from local vendors like Noble Bread and Bagelfields. I came in hoping to get some work done, but the wifi was unfortunately very slow and made it hard to get much done. The staff weren't very personable or welcoming. As for the coffee, it was okay, but I'd try something different if I returned. Overall, I enjoyed the vibe but I personally wouldn't return as a work spot. Good place to read a book or catch up with a friend.

Thoroughly enjoyed this place. Got a recommended ro check this place out and thankful for the suggestion. The space is absolutely beautiful. I ordered the Matcha Latte snd chocolate chip almond cookie and was able to get work done and met some really nice employees. Milan and his colleague Carson who were attentive and friendly. Since I used my own Hotspot I did not have to worry about the time limits given for wifi. Other Yelpers shared it was difficult to find since its in a unmarked building but I found it ok. Maybe the heads up helped me know what to look for. Loved how airy, light, and green the space was. The live plants were everywhere. There is a great amount of seating options. Whether its a casual coffee, lunch or hard-core study session it has a spot for all.

Provision was my hot spot when I was in college. I loved going there to work on school, listen to lectures, etc. The coffee is the highlight of this place as well as a few food items on the menu. Went back to enjoy some coffee and a light snack before heading back to work. Service has always been polite and quick. Overall a good place to enjoy some you time or time with friends.

Visited Provision for the first time in a couple years, and it was well worth the drive from the East valley! Provision revamped their menu since I last patronized a few years back, and that was just one part of how impressed I was. We ordered the Steak Sandwich (+ side of spiced potatoes) and the Protein Bowl. Both were SUPER yummy and filling, but the bowl knocked it out of the park with the seasoning, flavors and textures of all the elements. I'm excited to go back to Provision to get another protein bowl! Very fairly priced for the quality, as well. As for the drinks, we ordered a matcha latte (oat milk) and a cold brew (+ whole milk + sugar free vanilla). The matcha is SO good - it's a ceremonial grade matcha mixed with raw honey. The oat milk was a perfect cream addition + the microfoam on top makes me think they put a lot of love into making this! The cold brew had a good umami taste (I know - different for a cold brew), and the proportions of the foam + cream + syrup + cold brew were PERFECT! Our only gripe is that we wish the servings were larger. The barista who took our order was very patient with us and answered all our questions. He was great with directions and was very friendly. As for provision, if you haven't been before, it's dual-level with seating of all sorts on two floors. There's a lot of parking outside (because it's inside an office building), and easy to find.

In terms of space and seating, it is sufficient, but it does get crowded over the weekend, so keep that in mind. For the food, it's overpriced, and the matcha is decent to me. I will come here for reading and resetting purposes, but not to buy their food.

If you saw my review of Sophia's, you know I was blown away by their cappuccino--and the secret was the beans! Today, I went straight to the source: Provision on Missouri. This place is the epitome of quality in a stunning, shared-office architectural marvel. The Unique Detail: Provision has a dynamic I haven't seen anywhere else. It's an open-floor plan with a gorgeous second-floor loft space and lush, strategically placed plants that make the whole room breathe. It's part of a shared creative office space, which gives it this "productive-yet-relaxed" energy. The Atmosphere: We come here for study sessions every week! On Thursday nights, the trivia crowd descends. I'm not a trivia person myself, but I absolutely love the buzzing atmosphere while I sit and read. The Sip of the Tour: I drove all the way here for one reason: the Cappuccino. Why? Because they simply have the best-tasting coffee of my tour so far. It is the gold standard for my "plain cappuccino" test. The "Craft" Factor: Beyond the beans, they have a full cocktail bar with reasonably priced craft cocktails. I've had dinner here a few times too--their simple salad with chicken is exactly what I look for: healthy, fresh, and consistently pleasing. I swing by here whenever I'm in the area. It's officially the benchmark for flavor on this tour! Return Factor: 100% #PHXCoffeeShopTour #1CupAtATime

Perhaps one of the coolest coffee shops I've ever been to!! It's crazy l how much Phoenix has changed since I left 8 years ago and I would never expected finding a coffee shop in commercial office building. The vibe and the interior of this place is insane and I wish it would have been there when I just used to live minutes away in this great neighborhood!

Interior

One of my favorite coffee shops in central Phoenix! It's one of the most aesthetically-pleasing places to be, with floor to ceiling windows at the front of the shop. Lots of plants all around and has a relaxing vibe. It's always busy when I go with people studying, socializing, and eating. The coffee shop hosts events as well as weekly trivia on Thursday nights. They sell items near the entrance of small businesses. They have lots of food options ranging from breakfast to lunch items. All the breakfast items I've had have been good and they also have some vegan egg and sausage options as well. They have a fruit and cheese danish that is to die for! As for their drinks, everything is good. They rotate specialty drinks but have some long standing classics as well. I usually get a matcha but their lattes are good as well. The staff is also very friendly and accommodating. I once had a latte that I really didn't enjoy and the team was kind enough to remake it for me and add a little extra syrup. They also have lots of parking. Overall it's a good place to enjoy drinks and food, study or WFH, and hang with friends.

Veronica G.

I was reeled into this place because it was painted all over people's Instagram stories so I knew I had to give it a shot myself. I was immediately impressed by the high ceilings and beautiful plants. Their iconic entrance is even better in person. I appreciate that there are 2 stories and a good amount of seating on both floors. There's also some seating outdoors. The place itself is a great spot to work, study, or hang out with friends. There are high chairs, normal chairs, and booths to choose from which is nice as someone who is oddly picky with seating. They also have outlets! In terms of food and service, I'm not well versed with coffee so I didn't know what to get and asked some questions. The cashier didn't have a very welcoming attitude towards me after that. The price is on the higher end as well for coffee that didn't leave a significant impression on me.

We are first timers. We came on a Sunday afternoon. The place was a little difficult to find - there isn't a large sign to be easily seen from the road. Once inside it's very spacious and has two levels of seating area. They were friendly and quick to make our drinks. I got the honey lavender latte. The coffee is strong and flavorful.

I got the avocado toast which was decent, stuff is expensive for sure, it had an uncalled for sweetness; otherwise creamy and salty. I got bacon with it which was salty and crispy . The guy taking my order at the front was not all too helpful and it seemed like my lack of knowledge towards the establishment bothered him. The inside is loud, open and bright. they keep a clean space for sure, but its a surface level quality of construction to be honest.

Mocha art
Helen T.

This is a beautiful place to start your day! The high ceilings and window-wall brings in so much natural light. The murals inside and greenery add to the natural setting. You can feel the energy and effort the proprietor put into the having the perfect ambience. We came on a Saturday afternoon and inside was bustling with patrons. There's a second floor but that was full so we settled in a long communal table in the center. You order at the counter (there a baked goods in the display case) and get a round buzzer to pick up at the other end. We ordered a Habanero mocha and a honey lavender latte with oat milk. The temp of the latte could've been hotter but the sweetness and spice was well balanced. The habanero mocha had a slight kick but not overpowering so don't let the name intimidate you.

Ask the Community - Provision

Is this a good place to study? I have heard from some people they don't allow laptops, is this true? Thank you in advance!

There are a lot of spaces to chill and if so multi tasking while you're enjoying a beverage or some food. To study, it just depends on the vibe at the time you're there. I don't remember the noise being distracting when I was there. They don't…

Is there an elevator to the upstairs space?

Yes, it's an ADA-compliant building and there is an elevator (not visible in the photos, but it's in the back). Each floor of Provision also opens to the offices on either side, but I'm not sure if there are additional elevators in those wings.

There's a lot of spots for improvement here, but I'd also say that Lylo is one of the few businesses I've ever seen do such a visually-great escape out from their pool area. If you're here for the escape and temper your expectations for food or drink, I think you'd have a good time. There are a TON of mosquitos here, so prepare accordingly. The bar and hotel lobby didn't have bug spray nor any for sale. The nearby liquor store does have some for sale at less than a block's walk. (The pool is hot mid Phoenix summer. The pool itself felt closer to a hot tub than a refreshingly cold pool. I'm told this is normal for pools in Arizona in the summer.) PROS: -All of the drinks are really pretty, visually, and with the pool, you have a great mecca for social media photos. -Despite the ridiculous 110+ Phoenix heat, we were relatively comfortable in the shaded restaurant area with the misters. We could still see the pool, but we weren't baking alive. -Pool bathrooms were clean enough. There were lots of puddles and toilet paper on the ground, but nothing was horrific or moldy like some pool bathrooms can be. Spacious stalls for changing too - though I didn't see any shower or changing areas. -The pool area itself is pretty! It makes for gorgeous Instagram photos, and Lylo knows that. There are lots of little spots (a camp sign, a chair off on its own, all the loungers, etc.) that make cute photo backdrops in addition to the pool itself. -There is a collection of inflatable pool toys in the corner that seem to be open for guest use. CONS: -Water bottles are not allowed at all - not even sealed disposable plastic ones from the grocery store. They'll store them for you, and you can fetch your own water with disposable plastic cups while you're here. -The misters in the pool area were broken. With the heat, we chose not to actually use the pool, and instead stayed in the restaurant, shaded area with misters. -All of the on-menu drinks are pretty sweet and not super boozy (at their price points). It's easy to go through quite a few at their higher price. Make sure that you're spending intentionally. -We weren't in love with the food we ordered. It felt like frozen food reheated and served to us. To be fair, that's about to be expected from a pool bar, but it was still something to note at the prices and with nearby restaurants walkable. -Service is there. I wouldn't say it was friendly or welcoming, but the servers checked in often in-between talking to people in swimsuits or joking with friends. I rarely waited for anything, but I didn't feel like a valued guest. -The fabric of the chaise loungers and lounge beds are stained. I saw some employees hauling off some of them and shoving them into the back of a fabric cleaning van, so I'd assume they rotate in and out and have to deal with a ton of spilled drinks.

I arrived about 6:10 pm and was asked if I had a reservation. I explained that we went to the other location only to find it closed and when we called the only number on the website to make a reservation (earlier in the day), no one answered the phone. We called multiple times. The guy at the door informed us the other location had closed and he couldn't seat us until 8 pm unless we wanted to sit at the bar. I asked to speak with a manager and was told there was no manager there. A restaurant should always have a manager or someone on site empowered to address customer concerns. We agreed to sit at the bar. First we ordered cocktails for $17 each. While they were tasty and refreshing, they had virtually no alcohol. I ordered the Kra Pow and, on the server's recommendation, chose the pork belly. My friend ordered the Pad Ki-Mao with pork belly. After waiting 30-45 minutes for the food, it finally arrived. Mine was dry pieces of pork belly, dry rice, an egg and three cucumber slices, no sauce whatsoever. When I asked for sauce, I was offered soy sauce and hot chili. My friend's noodles were tasty, but she also thought her pork belly was dry. The server, who was also the host and bartender didn't check in on us a single time during our meal. Between the outdated website, unanswered phone, lack of management and service, long wait and underwhelming food and drinks, the entire experience was extremely disappointing. Located in the Melrose part…read moreof Phoenix, I checked out Bar 1912 after having dinner at Valentine (hint, hint: the speakeasy is located inside the restaurant). They have a small parking lot, but it's free and I was able to find a spot on a Friday evening. Ambiance (2.5/5): Speakeasies are known for their sophistication and for their hidden entry. Bar 1912 isn't much of a mystery. There are two entry points. Either a door in the back of the restaurant or a hallway inside the restaurant that's relatively easy to find as there isn't a door or anything in between the restaurant and the speakeasy. Our waiter took us there after our meal. Bar 1912 is nice, but just about average in terms of ambiance compared to other speakeasies. Part of the reason is that it's very loud (seats 30 people or so) and all of the seating at the bar are back-less bar stools (which I personally hate due to my back). I would have preferred to sit on the various couches/sofas next to the bar. Service (4.5/5): Friendly, attentive service. Exactly what you hope for when you're grabbing a drink (especially when they take a little longer to make due to their sophistication). You're provided with water without asking which is always a nice touch. I had to grab the bartender's attention once or twice, but outside of that, a job well done. Food (N/A); Since I had dinner at Valentine prior, I skipped food here. They have a small menu consisting mostly of appetizers (many, but not all, which are offered at Valentine). One option which isn't at Valentine, but which piqued my interest is the Sonoran hot dog. Had I been hungry, it would've been a no brainer. They have four or so desserts on the menu, and I had room for dessert, but none of them seemed appetizing. Drinks (4/5): When I'm at a speakeasy, I look for creativity and an interesting blend of ingredients. You certainly have that here. There's a focus on Native American and Hispanic influences here, which is pretty cool, and fitting since we're in Phoenix and everything. I tried two cocktails, one was a hit and one was a miss. I'm pretty flexible when it comes to cocktails, and I know what I like, so I rarely miss. Unfortunately, it happened here. With that being said, I tried some liqueurs I had never had before which is awesome. And I enjoyed the cocktail menu. This isn't the type of spot you'll find an Espresso Martini...thankfully. With a couple of tweaks, Bar 1912 could be in line with some of my favorite speakeasies in town.

Since we had our little angel pup with us, we sat outside. Misters were blasted and ambiance was so cute! My boyfriend kept saying this is such a hidden gem! Kale salad was 10/10 Mini pizza was 8/10 good quality small portion. Cheese and bread were yummy. Pepperoni was really basic. Cheesecake was a 7/10 but also my boyfriend said it was spectacular and he absolutely loved it so to each their own! My only negative is that they close at 12, but since it's slow they're opting to close earlier. Totally fine! I'm a server myself and I appreciate that! But I know others will be upset. Just call before you come if it's a late evening and not a Friday or Saturday.

I first came across Don Woods' Say When reading a Yelp article listing out the best rooftops in…read moreeach state. Don Woods was Arizona's pick. For quite a few months, I had it on my list to visit. I finally made things happen on a Wednesday evening for a drink. Located on the roof (of course) of a boutique hotel, I find free parking in the hotel's parking lot. While it was a busy parking lot, I was able to find a spot. Unfortunately, my night consisted of a comedy of errors. Ambiance (3/5): When you think best rooftop in the state, you're thinking scenic and peaceful views. Don Woods' certainly has that, though I've seen better in Phoenix. You can see the mountains in the background, but that's about it. The hotel is located on a busy street, where you'll often hear the noise of cars buzzing by or the train choo-chooing. Did I just make up a word?! I imagine the best time to stop by is during sunset. The outdoor area is relatively narrow with seating for about 20-30 people. It's a mix of comfortable seats and tables/chairs. There's also a charming indoor area, where the bar is located, but I felt like I had to sit outside. The weather was perfect, too. Service (2.5/5): This is where the comedy of errors began. I was given a menu and some water and was left to peruse the menu. Before the waitress had returned, I had picked out an appetizer and a cocktail. I then discovered that their cook had quit the other week and as a result, no food was available. That's fine and all, but you've gotta give me a heads-up when giving me the menu. That way, I wouldn't have spent the time to look over the food menu and get my heart set on a particular dish. On a better note, they have free WiFi. And service was overall friendly and pretty efficient. Food (N/A): While I was unable to order some food, on most nights, they have a small menu of small plates. More of a snack type of spot then a full meal type of establishment. Drinks (3/5): Don Woods is know for its cocktails and they have a list of 10 or so craft cocktails. Plus, beer, wine, and the typical options that you would find when there's a full bar. I feel like the bartender messed up the proportions on my cocktail as it was a bit rough. One drink and I was out. It seems like Don Woods' is experiencing some turnover which is leading to some mishaps. Combine that with some high expectations given the accolades they won, and it was the recipe for a disaster. I love a good rooftop bar, so I was hoping for more at Don Woods' Say When. Even the lobby of the hotel was experiencing issues. They sell popsicles in the lobby but the guy temporarily manning the front desk didn't know how to get their Square device working. Which ended up meaning no appetizers for me at Don Woods and no popsicles from the lobby. Two strikes. We live to fight another day.
