My husband ordered a blueberry/lavender coffee special and was not satisfied with his either, saying it was too sweet to enjoy and artificial tasting. Cute place to work or meet somebody out though.

I'd say the match was on the not to sweet side and my drink needed a bit more cardamon (it was light in taste). I even had to go back inside for some more cardamon but other than that the quality of the matcha was earthy and delicious. Thank you!

I've only heard great things and it was such a pleasure to make a visit. The interior is ultra modern, and art-centered. On a Wednesday morning, there was one staff member holding it down and a wait/line with about 5-6 people, so the wait was about 15-20 minutes in total-- including ordering and waiting for drinks. There was mainly only paid street parking options, but it wasn't hard to find any right in front of the shop. I got two drinks: Más and Abeja, to try their matcha and coffee, and really thoroughly enjoyed both. The matcha is a little bit on the milkier side, but I did enjoy that it was completely unsweetened, and leaned on the vanilla cold foam for a light sweetness. I think I enjoyed the coffee more personally, as the honey paired super well with the espresso and oat milk. The espresso is very good. I would come back if I was in the area, I just wish the parking situation was a little different!

The ambiance, drinks, and service were all great! There is an entrance to Lola Coffee from Roosevelt and another from the back near parking spaces. There is a restroom near the back entrance, and the start to the line to place an order is right near the front entrance. I saw in one of the comfy chairs while I waited for my former student to arrive. At that point, we moved to a regular table and then went and ordered drinks. She ordered a coffee, and I ordered a lemonade. We both enjoyed our drinks which were ready very quickly. There were smaller and larger tables, and there were also countertops along with business cards and marketing items at the back of the room on a thin table. Lola Coffee began with humble beginnings going back to 1992 with a cart, then Lux Coffee, and eventually Lola Coffee downtown. Now, there is even a second Lola Coffee location in Arcadia near 40th Street and Indian School. Today, they serve coffee, pastries, and breakfast. The Downtown Phoenix location hours are weekdays from 6:30 AM to 7 PM and weekends from 7 AM to 7 PM. You can see their menu, history, photos, and more on their website (https://lolacoffeebarphx.com). While I had trouble choosing between a lemonade for a cold beverage or hot chocolate for a warm beverage, it's great they have so many options. Again, try them for drinks, breakfast, or pastries. Their staff is so helpful and the actual restaurant is quite welcoming to everyone.

Excuse to go back in the future! I went mid-day on a weekday and was able to get street parking easily. It might be harder during certain hours. I heard about their fundraiser and ordered their Diné tea affogato, made with Navajo tea ice cream and double shot espresso. I've always wanted to try affogato and today was the day. I also ordered their mini blue corn donuts with berry glaze (6 for $4) because they're very good. And I got one of their cute stickers ($3). Service was friendly and welcoming. The affogato was pay as you can donation which is a nice touch. The espresso was strong but mixed with the ice cream was a good balance. I love that they use real cups and plates here, very eco friendly. There's also a water dispenser with reusable cups at the counter. The bathroom was cute with a cabinet plastered with cool stickers. This indigenous and queer women-owned business prioritizes community, well-being and anti-colonialism. They have done fundraisers for Palestine and for mutual aid and care about each other. It's a fantastic coffee shop designed with simplicity and producivity in mind - hosted in a gorgeous building with exposed brick and ceilings, which give it an industrial feel. My take on the space was it breathes this interesting balance of lingering, connection with others, and productivity. Almost every seat had a corresponding table, so that's a warm invitation to bring your devices in. There was a Ducati (!!!) parked right across from the coffee bar, which I later learned belongs to the owner just sharing his passion with the coffee community. Small detail, but it says something about the place. Definitely not a coffee shop trying to be a copy and paste chain. Menu had a few creative options I wouldn't mind coming back to try. They've also got their own merch line; the cups were also designed well enough that you'd actually want to keep one. There's street art right across from the shop worth a look if you've got a few minutes to spare. If you don't mind a short drive for a great cup and a space that actually feels lived in, this one delivers. PS - Parking can be tricky. It looks like there's ample space to park, but a lot of that is for Galvanize and the offices in the building. Towing trucks come over often, so heads up if you're going to park there. Don't get caught in the wrong spot.

I didn't even ask for a refund; I just didn't want the coffee. She offered to put it in a hot cup and I told her I didn't want it. When I told her that, she got really hostile and started asking "why?" I told her I just didn't prefer it and she kept asking "why?" with a lot of attitude and hostility. It's not the same experience. If it was, universally we would be drinking hot and iced coffee in the same hot cup. We wanted coffee to go in a cold coffee cup. You can't provide that, so we left. She didn't offer a refund, which is fine, but she asked before we left "what can I do to make it right since you paid for it?" You could have offered a refund but you so it's fine. Went somewhere else to get the kind of experience I want. It was $15 for two coffees, a $1 extra charge for alternative milk and an add shot of espresso. They also say they don't allow dogs but they allow "service" dogs and there was clearly a dog there that wasn't a service dog wearing a service dog jacket, but he kept shaking his fur all over the coffee bar. The woman who had him was letting people pet it and the dog was licking stuff off the floor and also smelling a people as they walked by. Clearly not a service dog. Would never recommend getting coffee here.

The vibe is really nice and chill outside and as you walk in. It is very clean. I love that there was so many different people they're studying and reading and you can tell that there was some groups that were meeting up there for like a book club, and just to have a drink! so it's really nice to know that you can have a little community inside of this nice clean coffee spot! So as I said, I got the mango black tea and it was very strong. I didn't even drink the whole thing you couldn't tell that it was mango. It just tasted like harsh, strong tea, one of the other girls in the group went back up they had to remake her coffee. They said that there was a new employee working there and they were sorry. Which is totally understandable, but at the same time I think each one of us had an uncertain experience with flavor of our drinks where it was like either the coffee was too strong. The tea was too strong unflavored for mine. So the mango black tea is unsweet and normally I love unsweet tea. That's all I get, but this tea just did not do it for me. I give it a four star because of the cleanliness and the workers are sweet and I love the environment, but the product itself I was not impressed with.
