The Burger & Fish Tacos were full of flavor & freshness! I loved their fries b/c crispy on outside & soft on the outside. Missing their Guac & Chips Starter that was on former menu tho. We gotta commend the F&B Manager here! He overheard us talking to the waiter about the differences in the Charred Beet Salads & told us why: one was on the grill too long & he only knew that b/c he was in the kitchen watching them make it. He appreciated us sharing about the nuanced difference in how salads tasted & comped one. Wow - this is really going above & beyond: caring enough to have a convo w/ diners, acknowledging their palates detecting the difference AND making it right, b/c as he said "both should taste the same, like the second one." A commitment to excellence and consistency is a rarity. Overall, Lylo Swim Club outdoor bar/restaurant is a little oasis tucked away amongst so much greenery and beauty! Was super excited to come here with my friends. We decided to get 3 chairs and there were dirty dishes left everywhere. You would think being outside they would have someone buss since there were bugs swarming everywhere. The Dole Whip drinks you would assume the alcohol would be mixed in but just poured on top. Service was honestly extremely disappointing usually I can give them some grace but this was just... wow! Then I go to pay and there were several items on my bill that were never ordered. Mind you never got silverware or napkins so we were using the towels. 25 minutes for a can of beer mind you. Place could have potential but would need several more servers and maybe individuals that are equipped to even do the job in the first place. $300 for actually a slap in the face and no sunburn because are seats were in the shade with dirty dishes damn near on top of us. Gross, waste of money, and just disturbing. Could not pay me to come back. In addition the pool looked so alarmed I was surprised individuals were even in it, I barely let my feet in. Update : I tried to contact the hotel yesterday to get in touch with the manager, was given 3 emails all wrong. The emails never got delivered. Call the Lylo Swim Club this morning and spoke with Paul Epstein.... oh my actual god good luck. So extremely rude not helpful at all no wonder on his LinkedIn he switches jobs every few months. Some things he told me on the phone.... 1. That the dishwasher/busser was going around every 20 minutes and grabbing dishes... Wrong I saw him once 2. Explained to him that the drinks tasted like they were poisoned. He said what do you expect when you order alcohol. 3. he asked why I didn't grab a server. There were two and I saw them maybe three times only when they were delivering wrong food. He then told me that they were overstaffed yesterday pathetic. On top of that he said everyone was going there to get the dole whip drinks because of TikTok. I'm glad other people could enjoy them, but you would think since he works in the restaurant industry he would have grace for others when its impossible to please everyone. That I understand but with all of these things that went wrong a discount should have been applied. I've never experienced someone so rude and uptight. Came last year and it was a total vibe. Loved everything about it. Stopped in today with a group of 13. Making the reservation was smooth, but things quickly fell apart once we arrived. There was confusion at check-in, especially for anyone trying to walk in due to "code" restrictions. The new executive chef's approach felt overly intense, with bag checks for outside water and even pointing out security cameras. It set a very different tone from what we experienced before. Service throughout the day was inconsistent. Food came out before drinks and was already cold, with cheese solidified by the time it hit the table. Drinks took 10-15 minutes on average, and at one point over 20 minutes when the system went down. While that's understandable, communication and consistency were lacking. We were initially told going to the bar would be faster, but bartenders either redirected us to servers or ignored us. Then when the system went down, suddenly the preference shifted to ordering at the bar. It felt disorganized and unclear. It was also difficult to flag down servers when we needed anything. At the end, despite having different reservation (chair) numbers and clearly asking for separate checks, everything was put on one tab, which made closing out frustrating and time-consuming. We heard there's new management, and unfortunately the experience reflected that shift. We really miss the energy and smooth flow from before. I love Lylo Swim Club. I've been here a few times, they usually offer a $20 day pass -- hang out by the pool 12-6pm for a day. It's the perfect hidden gem, relaxing, sunny, easy parking, great food and even better drinks. Well known for the dole whip cocktail, trust me -- order it! I also love the crispy rice tuna and the roasted beets were shocking so good. A burst of flavor. The service here is perfect. Service was really slow Wednesday and there were under 20 people it was 30 minutes before i was asked if everything was fine or if i wanted anything else. I ordered lemonade and specifically asked if it was free refills, i was told yes, i was charged for refills BUT i was not shown the screen or asked to sign so i didnt find out until i got home there's also another random $1. 25 charge on my card so i guess they also decided to tip themselves which is interesting. I should've asked for a receipt i guess but i was really tired and trying to get an Uber. While i like the vibe and find the people friendly there always seems to be some issue with the check even when i stayed at the hotel there were issues with the check at the pool. I had no idea that outside food was not allowed, and a worker named Kayla walked up and snatched my chips from my daybed and walked away. My friends took me here for a little fun pool day. They staff was great and it was so fun here. Loved how calm and quiet it was even with people coming and going. We have been coming here in May for years, our kick off of the summer. Always have a great time, either stay at the hotel or just reserve chairs. We have always had great service until today. The interaction from the staff was lacking any engagement. When we got the bill, gratuity was included, not sure why, it was two of us, maybe the holiday, but maybe that's why the staff couldn't care less about us. It was just not the same as we have come to expect. Music was off, just a weird playlist, they used to have DJs. Food and drinks were good as always. I guess I just miss the old staff who were friendly and cared and chatted. At one point our server couldn't find where to bring something, I am also a server and was observant, I got up to tell him where to find the person, and not any acknowledgment of that, not a thank you, just "okay." The night swim costs $15 and we were able to sit in the lounge chairs, use the pool and hot tub, and order drinks. The service was pretty bad and slow though it seemed only one waitress was working. She was confused on the summer passport coupon, but the manager came and gave my friends and I free drinks which made up for it. We had the dole whipped drink which was very good. I came here to chill by the pool with some friends for the evening. The vibe was perfect. It's just a regular pool and hot tub but it's super cute and there's a nice bar with poolside service. It's not a super loud party vibe like a lot of the pool bars in Scottsdale. The service was pretty slow but I think they were short staffed. I'm not sure if it's always like that. Lylo is the poolside bar at Rise Uptown Hotel in downtown Phoenix. It's so chill and easy here. They also have plenty of TVs on the outside patio. And their food is surprisingly very good. We needed a quick snack before dinner and shared a plate of barbacoa fries ($16). The fries are topped with braised short rib, onions, cilantro, crema, and a Mexican cheese mix. The key to tasty loaded fries are the fries themselves. These in particular, had a nice, crispy exterior. On their own, these were the perfect dipping fry. The barbacoa was also tender and flavorful. Just a really good all around combo. We shared the chicken tinga taco ($4.00) and this was absolute fire. The taco comes topped with crema, onion-cilantro, and cotija cheese on a corn tortilla. Lylo Swim Club definitely has potential. The atmosphere was great and the food and drinks were genuinely tasty, which made the overall experience feel promising at first. My friend and I were even saying when we first got there that it would be a great spot to bring a group of our friends. Unfortunately, the service really fell short. After our food was delivered, our waiter didn't check on us once for the remaining hour and a half we were there. We had asked for straws and lemons, which he forgot, minor, but still part of the experience. More importantly, when our food came out, we weren't given any napkins or silverware, even though not everything we ordered was finger food. We ended up having to flag down another waitress just to get what we needed after waiting for quite some time. On top of that, we noticed our drinks sitting for a while, and our waiter was behind the bar on his phone at times. When it came time to leave, we had to wave him down again for the check after waiting for a long time. Given the lack of service and the long wait times on a not-so-busy Friday afternoon, I'd honestly be a little wary of how it would be with a larger group. I'd stopped by Lylo earlier this year just to check it out and was surprised to feel like I was in a tropical location hidden away off Camelback. Such a cute place! I came back with some friends for a pool day and we reserved some loungers. We weren't sure how long we'd really stay as it was a hot day, but we ended up staying through our reservation. All of the staff were friendly and helpful, but our server (Michael?? Maybe? We did learn he was originally from Egypt) was exceptional! They'd just switched to a new menu and we loved the guacamole trio and chips and salsa - though the chicharonne guacamole was a bit too meaty for us. We had a few other snacks and everything was tasty! The Dole whip is the standout drink but also have to shout out the Shotski -- shots attached to a ski that 4 of you take at once. Cheesy and a little random? Yes. Hilariously funny in a pool? Yes. They also served non-alcoholic drinks like iced tea in these giant tall glasses (actually plastic maybe) that made them more fancy. I stayed at the hotel this Mon-Wed in July. I picked this hotel for the pool. There weren't more than 6 people at the pool at any time but that's to be expected on a weekday. They check your bags at the pool entrance. You cannot bring in outside food or drink. Hotel guests get 2 free drinks (one per person) at their HH. The HH location changes between Lylo and the rooftop bar depending on the day. I tried some fruit flavored mojito on Tuesday and it was awful. It was so sweet, that even when you replace half of it with water, it was still too sweet. I also wasn't sure if there was any alcohol in this at all. Couldn't taste it, only the sugar. The chicken asada skewers do not have enough chicken. The cucumbers and tomatoes were so salty, they were inedible. We covered our fries while we went to our room and left them on our seats (with all our stuff still there). They threw the fries out without asking us. I love that they have misters and alot of shade in the pool. The servers were very attentive and nice. read more

Lylo Swim Club is a tropical bar serving up Sonoran flavors. Located at the Rise Uptown hotel in Uptown Phoenix, it serves as a fun escape from the bustle around it. Grab a seat at the bar, relax at a table or luxuriate on a daybed at the pool. We tried the trio of tacos and chose the chicken tinga as the tastiest. The Carne asada fries were the hit though! They were covered in flavor and a large enough portion to share. In keeping with the tropical theme we sipped mango and passion fruit margs along with our bites. Food is nothing that's going to wow you and service is a bit slow but it's a perfect spot for a date night out. I do regret not trying the boozy dole whip as it looked delicious and friends have raved about it. Afterwards we headed up to Don Woods' Say When bar on the rooftop of the hotel (Check out my next post). You can even pick up a paleta in the shop located near checkin. My friend and I were looking for a comfy chair to soak up the sun and get some good food and drinks while I was in town and the Lylo provided all that and more. We bought a resort pass for the day and while I wish guests were able to get there earlier than 11 we enjoyed the short window we were able to be there! Our waitress was so sweet and kept us in good shape with drinks and water. The chairs are really comfy and big with plenty of towels available and a warm but refreshing pool. My only complaint is the chairs are pretty close together and my friend and I had wanted our umbrella down, but then the people next to us wanted it up and as we shared the same umbrella most of us ended up in the shade. As someone from Ohio, my girlfriend who lives ins AZ let me take the one sunny spot. We only got the chips and guac for food but it was delicious. And do yourself a favor and get the boozy dole whip! We got the guacamole trio and the dole whipped drink to start. Both were very good. My favorite of the guac trio was the one with pomegranate seeds and pepitas on top. *BEWARE* you will be scammed. A group of 5 of us came and wanted to enjoy a nice, local pool with some food and drinks. We got immediately greeted with a hefty price tag of $55 per person to enter. Whatever, we were there and just decided to pay it. Had a nice little day bed set up and the rest of the site was nice as well. Service however was mediocre, one of the girls was great all other staff was rude and inattentive. Ordered some food and alcoholic drinks, those prices were fine, food was also fine nothing great but really we weren't looking for fine dining. Our friend ordered an N/A dole whip and was charged $12! Finally, check out time BAM a $900+ bill was given to us! The food and drinks were properly charged however, they automatically added 20% gratuity to the bill which included our resort fees! So our high price pool use fee of $55 was also charged a 20% fee! WOW WOW WOW! I've been to luxurious out of state rooftop pools and clubs and have never been ripped off like this! Servers & front gate staff never mentioned auto gratuity would be added, so BEWARE! What a shame. I've seen other reviewers mentioning different prices on the entrance fee (our $55 was the highest yet) I guess there's a total lack of consistency and transparency here. I recently went here and I was a bit confused as to why the menu has been COMPLETELY changed. Lylo Swim Club was definitely unique with their distinct and original menu compared to other restaurants in the valley. Offering tasteful Hawaiian + Japanese/ Asian inspired dishes on the menu really made Lylo stand out in a great way since they offered what other places didn't. The atmosphere is still the same which was great. However their new menu is all Mexican dishes like a carne asada fries, aguachiles, tacos, etc. I'm sure there's more context to this new menu change that logistically improves the business(?). Either new owner/management or the fact that you can literally get Mexican food nearly on every block or even the many many authentic Mariscos in Arizona lol.... TLDR: the menu is no longer unique and the new menu is almost gentrified Mexican food. Being in Arizona, we have a already PLENTIFUL selection of authentic Mexican food that you can get from taquerias or mariscos already. Again, I'm sure there's more context behind this interesting business decision. We unfortunately had a very poor experience here. The service was extremely lacking. We sat at the bar and the entire bar top was sticky and dirty. The bartender was on her phone often and seemed quite apathetic. Also never cleaned the bar top. The chips were cold and stale tasting. The salsa seemed cheap and way too spicy. Service is amazing here! Great ambiance and music playing throughout the day, and food and drinks were on point. Highly recommend reserving either a poolside lounger or daybed if you can. They also have patio loungers as an option, but they are a little bit further away from the pool and away from the music and party.
