I love Lylo Swim Club. I've been here a few times, they usually offer a $20 day pass -- hang out by the pool 12-6pm for a day. It's the perfect hidden gem, relaxing, sunny, easy parking, great food and even better drinks. Well known for the dole whip cocktail, trust me -- order it! I also love the crispy rice tuna and the roasted beets were shocking so good. A burst of flavor. The service here is perfect. Luis is a GREAT bartender and is so great at checking in on the pool guests. Service is fast and quality is top tier. So sit back and relax, and stop at Lylo!

Fun relaxing pool day with the girls. We were very impressed with the food and drinks. The dole whip cocktail was a win for sure

We stumbled across this Rivera in the desert on Camelback by accident when the bar we were going to go to was closed. It is absolutely beautiful and a bar deserving of a large resort. The drinks were out of this world with great mixologists working making great cocktails. The empanadas were some of the best I've ever had. I hope you all stumble across this place and are as pleasantly surprised as I was. .

They changed majority of the menu and that is so disappointing because there is no more of my favorites. I got the dole whip rum and the masa taco. The service was great! The drinks were good but the food was not my preference. Thankfully the chips and salsa came with my meal so that was good. Please bring back some of the old menu, like the musubi and boa buns!!

We enjoyed the food. The Dole Whip just had brown liquor poured on top. I poured a bunch of it out and then stirred the remains in the alcohol myself. The atmosphere was nice. We did not have to pay for our lounge chairs because we reserved them with our room at the hotel. The dj was good but calling them a dj was generous, more like a guy with a playlist. The service was very quick and kind.

Loved it here! Not many people on a Tuesday. Wasn't sure if we could have saw but we asked and you do need to make reservations online and pay to go swimming. $40 for day time and $25 for night swimming. The food was interesting. My burger was salty and spicy. My fries were really salty. Got a Pina colada and it was good. Also got the dole whip and it was really good! Update 4/17 Love Lylo! The vibes are aesthetically pleasing. Feels like you're on an oasis. We started with the dip trio. They were all really good. Their menu changed since the last time I was here. Got a passion fruit mocktail. Got the carne asada and pastor taco. My sister got the carne asada fries. To end it if we got dole whip. The best dole whip I ever had! Love that you can pay to use the pool as well if you're not staying at the resort. Michael took good care of us and was amazing!

The vibes here are incredibleperfect for a relaxing day vacation. The full bar is great, but the real standout is the pool area. Cushioned couches with misters in the shaded section make it super comfortable, and there are plenty of lounge chairs by the water. Service was excellent--they bring food and drinks right to you poolside. Just a heads-up: it's definitely on the pricier side. A day pass (if you're not staying at the hotel) is $35 per person, and the food and drinks add up quick. But if you're looking to treat yourself, it's 100% worth it.

My friends took me here for a little fun pool day. They staff was great and it was so fun here. Loved how calm and quiet it was even with people coming and going. We ordered a few dishes to share; guac and chips, shrimp ceviche, crispy cheese with braise beef and I got myself a fish taco. The food was beautifully presented but some dish lacked salt. I was telling my friends it seem very healthy haha. Clearly we're used to junk food. I thought the fish tacos were really good and the crispy cheese pizza thing. Drinks were strong and yummy. Great place to hang out with friends!

The best spot for low key folks looking for laid back resort style vibes. Get the Dole Whip!!!

I was staying at the rise uptown hotel and this was the best restaurant I have ever stayed and our server was Brendon. The fries were amazing and it was so cool! They had a pool that was right outside the restaurant and a great view of plants and great decoration.

I came here to hang out with a few friends on a Friday night and had a nice time overall! The night swim costs $15 and we were able to sit in the lounge chairs, use the pool and hot tub, and order drinks. The service was pretty bad and slow though it seemed only one waitress was working. She was confused on the summer passport coupon, but the manager came and gave my friends and I free drinks which made up for it. We had the dole whipped drink which was very good. The whole area is very cute, it wasn't too crowded, and they played good music.

I came here to chill by the pool with some friends for the evening. The vibe was perfect. It's just a regular pool and hot tub but it's super cute and there's a nice bar with poolside service. It's not a super loud party vibe like a lot of the pool bars in Scottsdale. The service was pretty slow but I think they were short staffed. I'm not sure if it's always like that. There was also some confusion around a coupon my friend was trying to use so the manager (I think) brought us out a free round which was really sweet. He was super nice! Overall, I think it's worth the price to get in for the night swim.

Lylo is the poolside bar at Rise Uptown Hotel in downtown Phoenix. It's so chill and easy here. They also have plenty of TVs on the outside patio. And their food is surprisingly very good. We needed a quick snack before dinner and shared a plate of barbacoa fries ($16). The fries are topped with braised short rib, onions, cilantro, crema, and a Mexican cheese mix. The key to tasty loaded fries are the fries themselves. These in particular, had a nice, crispy exterior. On their own, these were the perfect dipping fry. The barbacoa was also tender and flavorful. Just a really good all around combo. We shared the chicken tinga taco ($4.00) and this was absolute fire. The taco comes topped with crema, onion-cilantro, and cotija cheese on a corn tortilla. To be honest, the chicken tinga was a nice change-up to our usual taco protein line-up making it especially tasty. Come on through for a drink, some snacks, and a lap around the pool.

Right on Camelback, in a little nook of a building with a book store/coffee shop attached. We entered and were seated immediately. If you read any of my previous reviews, you'll know that my wife loves oysters. Per usual, that where we started. We got the oyster and a bottle of prosecco. A few mimosas to start the day. My friend arrived almost exactly when the oysters and bottle came out. We chatted and perused the menu. We were in no rush as we drank through the first bottle. My wife got the pizza that was on the menu. I forgot what they called it, but it was good. Nice crust, a savory sauce, and just the right amount of cheese. My friend ordered avocado toast I believe or something very similar. She's a psycho path that runs 20 miles every morning so she was ready to take in carbs. She tore through it like a starving cheetah tears through a gazelle. I had an omelette which was pretty good, but nothing that knock me out of my seat. It could have used a bit of seasoning but in all decent. We ordered a second bottle and that is when their DJ began playing music. He played soft jazz which definitely was not the vibe we were looking for. None of the aforementioned mention brought this rating down to a three star review. It was all 4 star worthy accept the service was not great. Far from it actually. Don't worry I still tipped 20% as I feel it's a bare minimum, but he didn't deserve it. As I stated we were seated immediately, but it took our server nearly 15 minutes to even acknowledge us. I didn't know who it would be, but when he finally did all I could think is that he passed our table numerous times prior to stopping. Once he did there was a serious "I do not want to be here" vibe in his body language and tone. My friend who didn't arrive till the oysters and bottle were served missed that initial interaction but immediately noticed it. She an A type and wanted to complain to the manager. I got her to let it go. I know every has there days and this might have been his. Through out our stay here, he rarely checked in on us. As a matter of fact I believe we drank through each bottle before he checked in. This is the sole reason my rating went from a 4 to a 3. I hope the guy was ok, but I wish it could have been something he didn't bring to work with him. No pictures again. Sorry... I really just like to enjoy the moments with the people I am with and forget to take pictures.

The soothing decor and soft lighting created a cozy atmosphere, making it an ideal spot for a delightful meal, especially on an unseasonably hot day. We began our culinary journey with the Larb Mushroom appetizer, and it was nothing short of spectacular. The dish featured succulent oyster mushrooms tossed with roasted rice powder, fresh mint, shallots, cilantro, and a vibrant chili-lime dressing. Each bite was a refreshing explosion of flavors, combining the earthy richness of the mushrooms with the zesty brightness of the dressing. It was light, refreshing, and a perfect precursor to the meal ahead. For her main dish, my wife chose the Pad Z U, an outstanding selection that showcased sautéed broad noodles, crispy fried tofu, and Chinese broccoli, all enveloped in a delectable sweet soy sauce. The noodles were soft and chewy, creating a delightful texture that harmonized beautifully with the vegetable medley and tofu. The heat in the dish was skillfully balanced, providing just enough kick without overwhelming the palate. My wife couldn't stop raving about it! I opted for the Kua Kling, and it truly was a star of the evening. This spicy stir-fried minced chicken was enriched with fragrant curry paste, lemongrass, and kaffir lime leaves, resulting in an aromatic dish that was accompanied by tender long string beans and the unique Sadtor beans. The flavor profile was complex and enticing, with each ingredient complementing the others in a delightful dance of spice and freshness. It was a dish that not only warmed my belly but also left me craving more. What elevated our experience even further was the attentiveness of our server. With a genuine smile and a welcoming demeanor, they offered excellent recommendations and ensured that we were well taken care of throughout our meal. Their knowledge of the menu added to our enjoyment, making the dining experience even more memorable. Overall, LeDu Thai is a culinary treasure that I cannot recommend highly enough. Each dish was exceptional, bursting with flavor and crafted with care. The combination of delicious food, attentive service, and a cozy ambiance makes it a must-visit for anyone seeking an unforgettable Thai dining experience. GOOD! inspired by taco bell's baja blast hahahah). they TREATED us to all three of their current desserts on the menu. it was the most pleasant surprise i could've imagined. my favorite was the flourless chocolate cake! it was like a thick, rich brownie, had passion fruit cream to "lighten it up" and a caramel-like taffy on the bottom my brother and sister-in-law both said their favorite was the gulab jamun (which is basically like little fried dough balls/donuts, influenced by indian flavors and spices). the mille-feuille was also fantastic - the pastry was light and airy, cream wasn't too sweet and also very light, shaved cheese on top made it have a savory bite, and the jam alongside it was strawberry rhubarb. service is always amazing, friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable; it seems like everybody working here truly enjoys it. quite literally already have a reservation booked at valentine and will be coming back here beforehand. update: came back for more drinks (fernet & coke, spaghett western, negroni) and their lamb flauta. all AMAZING! and amazing order to whet the appetite before dinner at valentine.

We arrived without a reservation and were told the wait would be about 25 minutes, which was totally reasonable. We waited the full time and checked in once, only to find the wait continuing to extend while several outdoor tables sat open. When we politely asked about our table, the host (a woman with glasses) responded with a noticeably rude and dismissive attitude. At one point, she muttered under her breath something along the lines of, "If you guys are so anxious... you can head over there," which multiple people in our group heard. It felt completely unnecessary and unprofessional. We were eventually seated at a table that was partially in direct sun, and when we asked about moving to one of the shaded tables, we were told they were unavailable and "reserved". However, those tables remained empty for over 30 minutes, which was frustrating given the situation. To be fair, there was another older woman on staff who was warm, attentive, and fantastic, and the food itself continues to be a highlight. The menu is creative, thoughtful, and one of the reasons we've come back multiple times. That said, this isn't the first time we've experienced service issues here, and it often feels like the restaurant is understaffed, which may be contributing to the inconsistency. I really want to love this place and continue recommending it, but experiences like this make it hard. Great food can only carry things so far when the hospitality side feels off. It's one thing to occasionally be understaffed (I understand people call off in this business) but there's a consistency here which points towards management issues and then on top of it, when your hostess is unnecessarily rude, that's a real bummer. We live in the Willo nearby and I don't think we're going to keep coming here if this restaurant allows the constant service issues and the rude staff like this.

For quite a few months, I had it on my list to visit. I finally made things happen on a Wednesday evening for a drink. Located on the roof (of course) of a boutique hotel, I find free parking in the hotel's parking lot. While it was a busy parking lot, I was able to find a spot. Unfortunately, my night consisted of a comedy of errors. Ambiance (3/5): When you think best rooftop in the state, you're thinking scenic and peaceful views. Don Woods' certainly has that, though I've seen better in Phoenix. You can see the mountains in the background, but that's about it. The hotel is located on a busy street, where you'll often hear the noise of cars buzzing by or the train choo-chooing. Did I just make up a word?! I imagine the best time to stop by is during sunset. The outdoor area is relatively narrow with seating for about 20-30 people. It's a mix of comfortable seats and tables/chairs. There's also a charming indoor area, where the bar is located, but I felt like I had to sit outside. The weather was perfect, too. Service (2.5/5): This is where the comedy of errors began. I was given a menu and some water and was left to peruse the menu. Before the waitress had returned, I had picked out an appetizer and a cocktail. I then discovered that their cook had quit the other week and as a result, no food was available. That's fine and all, but you've gotta give me a heads-up when giving me the menu. That way, I wouldn't have spent the time to look over the food menu and get my heart set on a particular dish. On a better note, they have free WiFi. And service was overall friendly and pretty efficient. Food (N/A): While I was unable to order some food, on most nights, they have a small menu of small plates. More of a snack type of spot then a full meal type of establishment. Drinks (3/5): Don Woods is know for its cocktails and they have a list of 10 or so craft cocktails. Plus, beer, wine, and the typical options that you would find when there's a full bar. I feel like the bartender messed up the proportions on my cocktail as it was a bit rough. One drink and I was out. It seems like Don Woods' is experiencing some turnover which is leading to some mishaps. Combine that with some high expectations given the accolades they won, and it was the recipe for a disaster. I love a good rooftop bar, so I was hoping for more at Don Woods' Say When. Even the lobby of the hotel was experiencing issues. They sell popsicles in the lobby but the guy temporarily manning the front desk didn't know how to get their Square device working. Which ended up meaning no appetizers for me at Don Woods and no popsicles from the lobby. Two strikes. We live to fight another day.
