Short rib and scallop. Short rib was very tender and delicious. The scallop was cooked well but too salty. Soup - too salty. Couldn't eat even half of it. Cheesecake - pretty standard. It was good. How have I never heard of the amazing outdoor space here?! This was my first visit and we were meeting friends for drinks and dinner. They open up the huge double doors by the bar out to the patio and it's perfection when the weather is nice! They have a great list of crafted cocktails. I went with the Picking Daisies, which had mezcal and a little kick. Their dinner menu has a tasting menu option and has plenty of options on their regular menu. Two people at our table had the 4 course tasting menu and another two ordered off the regular menu. We also split 2 bottle of different Chardonnay's, both were very good. Another great visit to Provision. We were here on a Friday night to celebrate a graduation (party of two). We had a reservation, and they gave us a selection of sitting outside, at a high top table, or a normal table, which we appreciated. Our server was very kind and attentive. We got a cocktail and moctail, and our server was attentive to our taste and questions. All the food was great. We got the Burrata to start, which was delicious with fried green tomatoes. For our mains, I got the Pork Osso Buco, and my girlfriend got the scallops. I appreciate that their menu changes over time based on local offerings, and while I really enjoyed the food, I preferred the pork chop to what was on the Osso Buco, but it was still great. Dessert Review Only: My friend and I went here for dessert and some port wine. When he first mentioned port wine, was a little skeptical. But it was amazing!!! I ordered the Peanut Butter Bombe which was really good, it came with a banana cream pie ice cream which paired very well with the Bombe. The bombe definitely has cocoa powder on the crust, which I personally thought overpowered the peanut butter a little too much. My friend got the Indiana Sugar Cream Pie which came with a Turkish coffee ice cream. This was honestly my favorite thing and I wanted more! We wanted to go somewhere special for a celebration of life and made a last minute reservation on a Monday for the 5 of us (3 children included) Normally, I wouldn't consider this a family friendly spot, but our children are well behaved little dinner guests, so I knew there wouldn't be any issues. Though it may be the reason we were seated in the booth by the restrooms. No worries though, as our server was friendly and the food was very good. Bread baskets, shrimp, and truffle potato soup for starters. I'll think about that potato soup for the rest of the week. It's definitely something I'd return for. Steaks all around. Cooked perfectly. Wow. That's all I have to say. But for the sake of reviews, I'll say more. We came to Carmel just for this restaurant and I was not disappointed. My friend that lives in Indianapolis brought us here for our last dinner of the trip. We had a pretty big party but with a reservation, we were seated easily and in the front of the restaurant. This is on the second story of a building connected to a hotel. Once you walk up the stairs, the ambiance alone will take your breath away. Our table shared a few appetizers including the Tuna Tartare, Crab Hashbrown, and Mushroom Tart. They all were very good but a crowd favorite was the Mushroom Tart. For a main dish, I got the chicken which came with summer squash risotto, baby carrot, and pickled red onion. Also good and the plating was beautiful. For dessert, I tried the Indiana Sugar Cream Pie because why not? We're only in Indiana once... for now. This is a candied orange slice, with Turkish coffee ice cream. Not my usual pick for desserts but I was surprised at how much I loved the flavor. The only con would be how the crust did taste a little undercooked. I'm guessing this isn't how it usually is since the people that we ate with (who are Indiana locals) were surprised at the undercooked crust. Of course, what makes the meal for most people is the service and that was no exception here. The service was amazing from beginning to end. For an Indiana high-level restaurant, and a couple that frequents all the Cunningham locations, we left unimpressed. The seating was a debacle with poor placement despite making a reservation. We declined the first and second seating offered. The filet mignon was cooked medium despite a request for medium rare and it comes with no sides really despite the meat being above market pricing compared to competitors. My partner's dish was also 'meh' and we wished we had chosen a different location. Lastly, the waitress, though knowledgeable, was not necessarily pleasant or attentive. I wasn't expecting discount food to be clear from a high-end establishment, but for the prices, quality, and the tight seating arrangement, I wouldn't return for some time. read more

Ok, there are a lot of great restaurants around Indianapolis, but this is my favorite. Second time here, and they didn't disappoint. Wait staff, knows their menu. Recommends accordingly when pairing wines or bourbons. Attentive to all your needs throughout the meal. I had the 12 oz and my wife had the 8 oz Iowa premium steak, medium rare. I have yet to try the Waygu, but this is by far the best steak I have ever had. I paired it with the shrimp (huge, full of flavor) and tator tot totaler. Really didn't need it but it was still delicious. My wife paired hers with the mushrooms and asparagus. Then she had an endless love (espresso martini) for desert. Wow, the food here is delicious! I came for a retirement party and this is a good place to celebrate something special. The restaurant is located on the second floor in the Iron Works Center. The decor is artsy industrial and very spacious. The greeters and servers are ultra friendly and attentive. We sat out on the upstairs patio which overlooks an apartment complex. The patio is covered, lovely and comfortable. It was a Friday night and tables filled up quickly. They have drink specialties and I tried a vodka cucumber special which was delicious for $12. We ordered appetizers to share. Food came out quickly. Each plate was artistically prepared with interesting and delicious sauces. I tried five different dishes and loved each one. The tuna tartare atop fried rice cakes was the most memorable and one I craved the next day. The little rice cakes are coated with seeds and fried to give the outside a nice golden char while the inside is sweet and moist. The tuna and sauces were wonderful. The bread plate was also delicious with fresh made pretzel loaf and a flavored butter. My second favorite dish was the Charred Shrimp. These were huge flavorful shrimp almost tasting like little lobsters. They were accompanied with avocado and a spicy sauce. The fried green tomatoes with prosciutto is also good. I loved everything. The service was wonderful. She kept glasses full, cleared plates and took pictures of us. We never waited for anything. Expect high prices but worth the exceptional quality and unique menu. We went here for New Years Eve. Not impressed and actually a bit disappointed as I was introducing my date to what I remembered as a great inventive restaurant. The food was fine but not exceptional, which is what I was looking for. I really liked the old location better as it was quieter and a more intimate feel at the dining tables. The highlight of the evening was his potato truffle soup. That was delicious! The rest of our food was "fine" but not noteworthy and didn't match price point. There are way too many exceptional food experiences on the north side of Indy to return here anytime soon. I hope they figure out how to go back to their roots. read more

This is a swanky restaurant at the Ironworks, and does their room service. We just wanted a snack, and saw sugar cream pie on the menu, and, well, sugar cream pie... So we walked down to see what the place was like, and what other items might tempt us. Nice, stylish decor. There's a lot of interesting stuff on the menu, but we stuck with the pie. It was $10, which is a helluva lot for pie. But, it was very good pie, flaky crust, good filling. And then they turned it up a notch. Bruleed topping, which made me notice the similarities between sugar cream pie and creme brulee. Good whipped cream on the side (I think they called it ice cream on the menu?) And candied oranges, which offset the creamy sweetness. Excellent flavor, excellent presentation. We all enjoyed it. The next day I saw the My Sugar Pie delivery truck, and was a bit saddened Provision had not made it themselves. But, start with a good pie and make it better, and you have a winner. If we're back in the area we'll explore the menu more, for a date night or other splurge. read more

We have been here twice for Valentine's Day, two years in a row. Each time, during the busiest couple's day for the restaurant industry, we've had incredible service and food. We never once have felt ignored or that we were just another table during either time we visited. We had a slight issue with our bread basket that was immediately fixed with an apology. The food is great; each steak is incredibly well cooked, being so tender, so juicy, each bite melts away with little effort as you experience them. The pork chop is flavorful but a little bit dry even ordered medium. The thick, slightly fruity sweet and just a touch tart sauce on the side, along with the AMAZING Swiss chard with ham absolutely tied the entire plate together. I still suggest any steak they have, ordered however you prefer that cut. Best steak of your LIFE. There was a couple across from us who got the chef's tasting menu, on which there was wagyu. I heard one of them describing it saying, "people always say it melts in your mouth and you don't know what that means until you experience it, but it really does!" Another couple got the fish special which was Halibut. After their meal, one diner exclaimed she had never had halibut before and how amazing it was. Provision is executing all of their dishes very well, during one of the busiest holidays for them, and consistently at that! Not good... we have had better food quality at Longhorn. The atmosphere for anniversary was less than romantic as we sat at table for 2 in the confluence of traffic from kitchen/bar/dining room. Once Jerald knew we were wanting bread dinner roll, our only option was seven bread sharable, which one sharable was a single slice of multigrain bagged bread buttered with oregano(?). Naan from Trader Joes and some pretzel buns from freezer section. We ordered Woodford old fashioned, which surprisingly were done with Woodford Rye variety. This set tone for evening... as we expected woodford reserve bourbon not rye, which is a different drink specification. The steak had grill marks, but the cook seemed more like a griddle with pattern. The temperature was right, but the sirloin cut (for price) at 1" was weak. Again, Longhorn does better. The salads were Standard BOF offering. I had beet and it was well assembled pickled variety with arugula. We got the Potato Terrine as well. This was best plate on table. Perhaps sides only would be better option here. Finally, atmosphere was LOUD. from time we opened door to trek up tread plate steps, loud. The railing paint at too of stairs was worn to metal. I'm not stickler but seemed borderline disrepair. Last gripe... unisex bathrooms cuts the facility option to one / door. Standing 8 deep for bathroom in upscale bar hallway screams frat house. We had meal Saturday we expected to be similar in quality and value. It paled in comparison and this meal was $50 more without coffee and dessert on the tab. We were Cunningham fans, but this project appears to have been modified from original strategy and fails to live up to expectations. I was recommended this place by a friend so I decided to give it a try to celebrate one of my friends birthdays! We were seated by our waiter and he was so friendly and approachable. He gave us nice recommendations and helped us pick out bottle of wine. The appetizers we ordered we also so delicious! We did order oysters too but if I had to choose next time I think I wouldn't order them again because they were smaller than expected. The chrome however was so delicious that we ordered it again! Our entrees were so big and filling! Then we ordered sides to share because the portions were big! Finally, for dessert we ordered some donut balls that were warm coated in sugar and a dark chocolate ball with banana ice cream. Overall, I loved the dishes and quality of meat. The service was amazing too. The interior of the restaurant was so classy and modern. It was clean and set the mood for the night. I highly recommend this place and would come back again. read more

Had a wonderful experience at Provision a few weeks ago. I had read about Provision before via YELP so I thought I'd check it out. A friend of mine knows that manager there (who's awesome and engaging) sir hat made the experience even better. I love the setting and having the option of eating outside. They strive to keep their menus fresh which is always a plus. They keep the favs (like the crab toast) and switch things up a bit throughout the season. I told our waitress and my friend that the steak I had there was THE BEST I've EVA, EVA had... she told me it was locally sourced which for me made all the difference. I talked about that steak for 3 days... no joke. My steak was a little over cooked but it STILL was delicious. RIP to the cow that sacrificed his life for my pallet. The drinks were good, the crab toast was awesome (as stated in previous reviews) and our dinner was really satisfying!!! The lobster cake was a little over cooked as well but the heirloom tomatoes were like candy. Overall the atmosphere, setting and service was great. I'll be back for the steak alone. I didn't expect it to be that good and Provision is not even a chop house! That says a lot! I didn't give this place 5 stars because of what I saw at the bar. We ate there so I watched how the food and drinks were handled. A few people on staff used their bare hands to pick up the ice (big block ice for bourbon, etc) for drinks after handling money . I'm a stickler about cross contamination because I've been in the food industry for many years. Tongs is an easy fix, especially when you have customers sitting in front of you. I was going to say something but my friend asked me to let it go so I did. We just prayed over our drinks and kept it moving... I'm looking forward to going back and taking a few friends with me. It's a little pricy for some but if you really enjoy good food and a relaxing time out Provision should be on your list! read more

We had a great time celebrating Fathers Day at Provision. Our waiter, Dupree, was quick and friendly throughout the whole meal. We started off with the Wagyu Dumplings, so flavorful and a big portion for an appetizer. We also had the Shrimp appetizer which had 5 pieces of flavorful goodness. My wife enjoyed her scallops and my son said his burger was the best he ever had. My short rib was wonderful and came with grits, carrots, and mushrooms. Our dessert was ricotta doughnuts with banana ice cream which was a great way to end the meal. I thought the meal was valued appropriately for the portions and quality. Provision definitely lived up to the hype. The service, food, libations and ambiance were first class. They have an elaborate cocktail menu as well as extensive wine and beer options. The raspberry beret and old fashioned are two great examples. Try the chef's tasting menu ($89 per person or $150 with wine pairing). It is a six-course meal that allows you to try all of the best offerings on the menu. My favorite courses were the King Crab Toast and an amazing A5 Japanese wagyu (it literally melts in your mouth)! It's no secret that I'm a fan of the Cunningham brand. I've always enjoyed each visit to their various restaurants, and they're always stellar With Provision, though, I believe they've knocked it out of the park, It's upscale, yet comfortable, so we never feel out of place when we're there. That's an important point to us, and will make sure that we're regular customers of any restaurant---that we feel comfortable, no matter if it's upscale or not. Service has always been spot on. I've tried several dishes on their menu. Their charred shrimp is unlike anything I've had before, and it's amazing. HUGE shrimp, charred on the outside, it's a great appetizer to share. I'm a steak fan, and every steak I've had there has been cooked to perfection. Dessert, which we seldom splurge on, is a must here! I highly recommend the Sugar Cream Pie, which they locally source from My Sugar Cream Pie in Zionsville. If you're looking for a bit of a more upscale dinner, you can't go wrong here! read more

We came here to celebrate my Moms 83rd birthday. It did take a little bit to get seated (reservation at 645 and not seated till almost 715), but I understand hard to time all the tables. Staff right away said they would comp 2 appetizers, so that was quite generous. Got the grow salad and the scallops- delicious! Very busy and loud in the restaurant and a little slow with the check and getting paid. But the food was very good and service was great! read more

Cutting to the point, the food here is awesome and the drinks were as well. But the inside ambiance is more like a bar. The lights could be lower. The seats are surrounding the bar, the kitchen or the restrooms (or in our case all three). It seems trendy but not romantic. My wife thought it'd be a good place to meet her friends. Back to the food though... we started with the carpaccio. I had the salmon and my wife had the chicken. We had the peanut butter blast for dessert along with coffee. Everything was amazing! I love the fact that this restaurant is a part of the Cunningham group, and I was able to rack up some points from my visit to Provision. The service was spectacular. The ambiance is amazing. I love that this restaurant is located on the second floor of the Ironworks building. The big windows made me feel as though I was having dinner in the movies, lol. The tables were spaced out, and seemed Covid-friendly. The drinks are amazing and have a nice lil kick to them, if you know what I mean. For starters we enjoyed the bread appetizer along with the Charred shrimp appetizer. Our server gave us great recommendations. We also had the short rib meal and were told by another server that it is the best meal on the menu. The short rib dinner was phenomenal, as expected.
