The ambiance isn't bad, slightly dated, but the excellent service makes up for it. I've dined in two or three times and ordered takeout a few times. The burgers are the best in town, though a bit pricey unless you take advantage of their half-price burger special on Wednesdays. Their Italian cream cake is absolutely killer, and the steak with French onion soup as a starter is pure perfection. Overall, it can be a little pricey, but for a small town, the food is definitely worth it unless you want to drive 30 minutes.

Prime Rib, medium rare, perfect! Ignore the dark portion it isn't over cooked, it's a shadow from me blocking the light. Great meal tonight.

A great celebration for a 50th bday. All 13 of us had fabulous meals, but the halibut and salmon were especially delicious.

I was not excited about meeting here after reading the reviews but can't wait to return after…read moredining here. There was a group of 10 of us. Service was a little slow but understandable. We were greeted nicely and warned of workers calling off. They even provided mixed chips between our appetizers and entrees. We started with the grilled and fried shrimp. Both were amazing. Realizing there was no dipping sauce but not being able to stop eating them while awaiting sauce was commendable. Both were very tasty. The fried green tomatoes were cooked perfectly and seasoned impeccably... again no sauce needed. The catfish and the salmon bites again, seasoned and fried perfectly. The fried mushrooms were different but so good. The star of the night was the Shaniky pasta and I'm not a pasta fan. I had only one complaint. For the same price, you get either 4 pieces of beautifully fried catfish and fries or one piece of beautifully fried catfish sitting in a huge bowl of very tasty but dry dirty rice. I would eat the dirty rice again, but I would choose 4 pieces of beautiful fried catfish with fries any day over a big bowl of rice and one piece of fish. Will definitely return.... Regularly!!!

Service and the atmosphere were great. The restaurant was clean, and the staff was friendly, so…read morefirst impressions were definitely positive. The Thursday special was the highlight of the meal. The lamb chops were well-seasoned, and the lemon drops absolutely saved the day. The appetizers were decent too. The crab cakes were a nice size, but at $12 each, they felt overpriced. I think serving three smaller crab cakes for around $15 would make more sense and create a better presentation. I didn't personally try the oysters, but everyone in my group agreed they would've been much better without the cheese, which overpowered the flavor. Now...the main attraction--the item the restaurant is literally named after--the crab bagz. Unfortunately, they were more like trash bagz. The shrimp tasted like a frozen bag of shrimp from Aldi that was simply boiled with a little butter. The smoked sausage looked and tasted more like a boiled hot dog. Frying or grilling the sausage before adding it to the bag would make a huge difference in both flavor and texture. The corn tasted old, almost like it had been sitting in seasoned water for hours and was simply reheated when ordered. By the time I got to the potato, I had completely lost interest. The entire boil needs more seasoning cooked into the seafood and vegetables--not just added afterward. A heavier Cajun dry seasoning and deeper flavor infusion would go a long way. New Orleans is my second home, so yes, my standards for seafood boils are high. But this just missed the mark. If I came back, it would be for the drinks, lamb chops, and appetizers. Those are the real stars here. Unfortunately, the crab bagz--the signature dish--just aren't it.

A beautiful restaurant on Cedar Lake, tons of windows and beautiful views, outdoor seating right on…read morethe lake. steaks and fish choices with many other food options. Great lobster bisque and French onion soups. Buffalo shrimp had good spice, Thai chicken wraps are tasty and refreshing. I left a review very recently regarding my experience dining outside that was amazing. I'm sad to…read moresay that when I came back about a month later with a reservation to dine inside, it wasn't the same. We checked in with the many hostesses when we walked in. No one greeted us. I finally said my name & party of 4. She said ok. I had to ask what next... are you texting me, calling my name. Do I follow you? It was awkward. She said we will say your name. We waited about 10-15 minutes. There were 5 girls yelling out people's names like the cheesey family restaurants. It felt tacky. If they were nice or said it in a friendly tone it would help. My friends were taken aback each time they yelled. Not to be petty, but it set the tone of the evening. We were sat in the sunroom area of the restaurant. Old tables & chairs. Our table had 5 chairs. Made for an awkward dining experience. No decor in that room. During the day, there would be a lake view. The rest of the place & bar area is beautiful though. The server was attentive. Explained the menu with a heavy sell on the expensive food items. Felt forced. My friends got appetizers that were good. Calamari was good. My lobster bisque was salty, but good. Our drinks were good also. My chicken salad with dried peaches was delicious. I didn't care for the sweet dressing. I prefer a tossed salad with a lighter dressing typically. My friend's Cobb salad was not good. It was big, but wet. Water was on the bottom of the plate. There was so much egg and lots of blue cheese dressing. My friend liked his steak very much. Everything else was ok. One odd thing was that the people bussing the table were there a lot. Asking to take the appetizers before they were even half gone. We felt rushed. Coming up & asking us questions mumbled. If we said sorry I didn't hear, we'd get never mind dude. Another server mumbled to us & when we asked what. She was annoyed & said never mind. Marched away. It was such an odd experience. A very nice thing, they brought my friend a birthday dessert. I debated leaving this review, but I know that the owners read these. I really appreciate that they care. My friends said they weren't sure if they'd come back. I assured them I had an amazing experience last time.

We were seated at a table for 4. So far everything I expected. We placed our order. The bruschetta app was over the top. I ordered truffle butter for my steak. About 10 minutes later, but I was told that they were out of truffle butter but could substitute garlic herb. Main course arrived. I had a Ceasar salad that was very nice but overdressed to almost soggy. Steaks (filet & a delmonico) arrived 'medium" at best - both ordered med rate. Baked potatoes were just above room temp. but were pre buttered. Grilled asparagus were warm at best. I ordered coffee after dinner & was told they were out of coffee & a new pot could be brewed but would take 20 min if I wanted to wait. I declined. Upon receiving our check I was told that an 18% gratuity is automatically applied (not a problem, just a surprise). Looking at the check I also noticed a 3% convenience fee was applied. This was not a $300 dining experience. All things considered it was NOT the upscale, elegant Italian Steakhouse eveningI hope for.
