Worst Chinese Food we've ever had today. We ordered beef fried rice (garbage, tiny itty bitty morsels of beef, rice was yellow, no flavor, no eggs, green onion or soy sauce) beef egg foo young which was gross, the beef gravy didn't taste good at all, and shrimp egg rolls. They were so greasy had to wash your hands while eating them. $53 worth of garbage food that literally went right in the garbage . I will not be back ever. read more

Totally meh experience. Q: World I return? A: No way... Wouldn't recommend a random yelper to take somebody they don't like here. The egg roll was okay. Was the second best part of a so-so dinner. At $6.25 the tuna roll was priced well. The portion ratio was greet. The rice wasn't seasoned - wasn't sushi rice either. The nori was chewy and tough. The roll wasn't sealed well. The flavor was okay...not great...definately not worth a repeat...even for the price value. The sesame chicken was awful. Right out of the all-you-can-eat buffet. I threw two thirds of it away. The fried rice wasn't cocked for me. It surely cannot off the stream table. Zero effort on this meal from the kitchen. You have shamed you ancestors! The next time i consider eating at Kings Wok I will just throw the money into the trash. I will be sampling the other Asian place cuz there has to be another spot. read more

It's not easy being Asian in the far south suburbs of Chicago. Our choices for Asian food are extremely limited. So when my husband and I drove by King's Wok, we had to give it a try. I was delighted to see a Chinese family running the restaurant and cooking the food. The menu offered Szechuan, Cantonese and Hunan dishes, but I believe that this kitchen leans more towards the flavors of Cantonese cooking. We had steamed dumplings, Mongolian Beef, Szechuan Shrimp and Beef Har Kew. Everything was delicious as we ate in the small, generic dining room overlooking the parking lot. Although King's Wok is not a unique destination, and the service is non-existent, we would gladly drive across town for a taste of the decent Chinese cuisine. read more

I was about 40 miles south of my office in Oak Brook for an appraisal assignment and checked my phone for spots nearby for lunch. I didn't want fast food, and when I saw King's Wok put it in my GPS. I'm sure glad I did. The food was excellent--I got chicken with mixed vegetables and some steamed rice. Half way through it was still piping hot. Broccoli, carrot, celery, cabbage, water chestnut, baby corn, sprouts, and onion in a light soy-ish sauce that was not too high in salt. Hot, crunchy, chewy, savory. I gave this place a try today. Ordered the Mongolian Beef, Combination Chop Suey, and an order of egg rolls. The Mongolian Beef was pretty good, but they're skimpy on the beef, and they over do it with the onions. The Chop Suey tasted like it came out of a can. The egg rolls were small, but not bad. I live in Cedar Lake an drove to Beecher to get some chinese food. The place in our town isnt fit for a dog. I wanted to give this place a try and am so glad i did. The hours on Facebook say one thing, the hours on Google say another the hours here on Yelp say yet something else.. . ALL DIFFERENT, ALL WRONG. The insanely rude, poorly trained, incompetent moron of an employee that answers the phone was stupidly saying " that's not my job and I'm not in charge of that. Ok, maybe she's not but if she had a single brain cell, she would tell her boss that TWO major sources of information about the business hours are WRONG and maybe she could be semi polite and tell whoever has FAILED to update Facebook and Google (both different hours posted and BOTH wrong). How much business are they losing because people don't know when they are open and when they are closed ? MOST sensible business people would be happy to have someone let them know that their posted hours everywhere on the internet are wrong. Last night we tried to order food for 4 people but we could not because nobody answered the phone, the website said they were open, the online menu ordering said they were closed.  NO CLUE what is going on and then on top of that they have a total and complete IDIOT answering the phone that was totally unable to tell me what ANY of the hours really were. They literally have an employee working in their restaurant that has NO IDEA WHEN THEY ARE OPEN !!!! And then she wants to be rude when I'm asking and also trying to tell her that ALL of the posted hours are WRONG !!!! I moved out here and thought I found a new Chinese food place given all the positive reviews. I believe people think this place is good. However, the sweet and sour sauce for my chicken was basically cheap corn syrup, I'm used to real sauce with the pineapple and green peppers. The fried rice wasn't fried at all, it was yellow rice. The food is just OK. I only go here if I want Chinese but don't want to drive far to go somewhere better. They put way way way too much celery in the fried rice, get a large size and I guarantee you that a quarter of the container is going to be humongous chunks of celery. They also don't add egg to the fried rice which always takes a star off a rating from me. They keep weird hours like many places in town seem to do these days. read more

Went to King's Wok to pick up dinner. I was so impressed by the changes they made to keep everyone safe during COVID. The dining room is closed. A plexus glass wall was installed around the register area. The condiments were moved behind the glass. There is a basket for the money. Staff and cooks were wearing masks and gloves. I want to say thank you for the time and money put into the changes. The food was excellent as usual. We ordered sesame chicken, Mongolian beef, mild, shrimp Loméin, egg rolls and crab rangoons. We ordered bbq pork. What we got was more like leather with bbq sauce. It was dry and hard. Kind of like a bbq jerky. The rest of the food tasted fishy even tho we didn't have any thing with seafood or fish in it. We ate there several times and the bbq pork was it for us. I LOVE this place! I am giving 5 stars because it's average to above-average Chinese food, great prices, quick service and catering to an area that lacks restaurants. It appears to be a family-run operation as the cashier is typically under the age of 10. Ha! I typically call our order in ahead of time and my food is always ready in less than 15 minutes. I'm giving this place 5 STARS! -The selection of food was decent, I had many options to choose from, and many were spicy -There was virtually no line because they handle transactions that quickly -Our food was brought out to us very quickly! It wasn't on any cheapo paper/foam plates with plastic cutlery, no! We ate off of colorful plates with real silverware -The prices are just right -Central location with plenty of parking How can you lose? I really enjoyed my combination lo mein, something I'd never had before. The crab rangoons stayed hot for quite some time too, and boy, they were super fresh.
