Hi! I would love to shout out, again, Koi Asian Bistro. I have ARFID, making dining out a challenge. Tonight's server Zay was attentive, polite, and very accommodating. His patience and working with my peculiarities were fantastic. He showed not one whit of irritation or frustration with me. He was also excellent when I suggested a different way to have a dish for me was very honest and said they COULD do it but they would have to charge for a second entree, ( which is very understandable!) Their accessibility is fairly good with the only problem being their entrance is a little tight but not impossible. Thank you for a great double birthday dinner! read more

Selling bad food! Suchi was slimmy, not fresh and they knew it. Soup and salad dressing was watered down., no taste. Been eating for over 20 years. read more

Very good service and the food tasted great!! We usually order takeout from Koi 2-3 times a month!! read more

Koi Asian Bistro is amazing! The ambiance is absolutely beautiful, modern, relaxing, and perfect for a night out. The service was fantastic 1 our waitress was incredibly attentive and kind the entire time. We tried a little bit of everything, but you get free edamame when you sit. We ordered crab rangoon, curry, California roll, monster roll, orange chicken, chicken pad Thai, and mango cloud boba tea and every single dish was a 10/10. The sushi was fresh and flavorful, the entrees were perfectly seasoned, and the presentation was stunning. Also, the lychee martini was delicious, easily one of the best I've had in a long time! Such a gem in the area, we'll definitely be back! read more

Koi is honestly my favorite food. I highly recommend the Bruce's Roll for sushi, the Mango Cloud for boba tea, and the Poke Bowl for a mega nutritious and oishi dinner. ‍ Service is chef's kiss. read more

First timer! Koi Asian Bistro did not disappoint! You can smell the flavorful food aroma as soon as you hit the door! We were seated asap! And the service was amazingly fast! We ordered the Pad see you noodles with white rice along with the orange chicken and a side of chicken fried rice. Even Fresh edamame for the complimentary. The decor was very beautiful as the Japanese's cherry blossom tree entices your eyes on first sight with plenty of seating. Koi Asian Bistro was very clean and very much an elegance establishment. Got to be one of the best restaurants in Bourbonnais for Asian, or actually anything. If looking for modern sushi around here, this is certainly the correct place. Koi has a ton of rolls to choose from, as well as other stuff like hibachi and whatever. Has pretty good prices for the portions, to be honest. The restaurant also is one of the classiest places in town, but it's affordable for the most part though. A lot of the appeal is the sushi, but that's just one part of the menu of course. It also has some pretty good and strong drinks. They had a few specials going on when we came in. Among these was the Jaeger Mojito, which got my attention just wanting to see how this liquor goes okay in a mojito, and surprise it was actually good. It's $12 for a pretty big glass, so it was a good price. Also there was Red Bull. This had a little bottle of Jaegar you could pour in to make a float of it on top. As for the rolls, these were the main reasons we came. It's about $6.25 for rolls. After looking at the vegetarian choices, we got a couple. These were the A.A.C. and the Peanut Avocado Rolls. Pretty big rolls and these were packed with fillings. The peanuts aren't one of the usual ingredients in rolls, but these added a crunch and went pretty well to be honest. Could for sure come here again. It's looking like a classy place, but it's actually pretty casual for the most part it seems. There's plenty of rolls for seafood eaters, as well as for vegans and vegetarians. read more

I've been in the restaurant industry for over 25 years and currently work in food distribution, so I've eaten at a lot of restaurants. I live in Indianapolis, but we were in Kankakee visiting the Frank Lloyd Wright home, which was absolutely fantastic. We decided to dine at Koi, and I'm so glad we did. The food was excellent and exceeded my expectations. Everything we ordered was delicious, and the sushi quality was impressive. The salmon appetizer our waitress recommended was outstanding. The only thing I didn't care for was the salad dressing, which was just okay. Overall, I would highly recommend Koi to anyone looking for a great dining experience in the area. read more

Absolutely enjoyed the food here. Our party of 3 were seated very quickly on a tuesday night. Loved, loved the seafood soup! The Thai Glass Noodle with chicken was equally scrumptious! Also tasted my friends' sushi, the Godzilla roll had that nice deep fried outer layer that provided texture. read more

We love it here ! The food and service is amazing. We are never disappointed! Give it a try !

Beautiful place, friendly staff, great menu and fast service! My kind of place. I stopped here on the way to a performance at the college in town. I need to kill about an hour and 1/2 before load-in. Coming on out of the cold to hot green tea, miso soup and sweet potato roll, is the way to go. As many restaurant do, the out something on the table to snack on. Edamame! I will be here befo how're every future show to relax! read more

For takeout the serving sizes are large and we always have enough for a few meals. Everything has been really good; however, It's disappointing when real crab meat isn't used in restaurants, especially this one which is pricier. read more

Food and service were good. Only drawback was I wasn't allowed to substitute steamed veggies in place of the nasty salad they give you with this awful salad dressing on it. read more

Had Thai basil very spicy, chicken satay and sushi a cucumber roll. Service was good nice looking restaurant. Thai basil wasn't hot enough asked for chili oil to spice it up also missing some galangal, lemongrass so it was missing some of that fresh flavor. Large portions though. Satay had no tumeric and I make better peanut sauce. Great ambiance. Soup and salad were great. Sushi nori wasn't toasted so it was a little soft with no snap. Critical bc I love my Thai. Will be back because Chicago is too far. read more

Considering this is a landlocked state, and I came from the very snobby San Francisco Bay area, you cannot go wrong with Koi bistro. Their sushi is impeccably fresh, their Asian fusion cuisine is varied and also delicious. I wanted to show you some of the sushi that I had for dinner tonight, and I'll show you what is left... I like their house sake because it compliments ginger, seaweed salad, and the fish sushi, it's one of the few white wines that you can pair with almost everything. I highly recommend Koi! read more

Was surprised when we got inside, the place was spacious! Food was served fast. Nice plating and food was really good, specially the lunch specials! True gem in a strip mall. Don't let the outside fool you. read more

This is Miami level quality sushi, a not so hidden gem in the town because it's always busy and the service is always on point. I hate traveling when I'm in the mood for it because I can't find anywhere that can compete! I usually always end up getting the same 6 rolls with my wife every time, they're just incredible. I wholeheartedly recommend this place. read more

Always love koi, it's clean and food is reasonably priced. The staff is always super nice and knowledgeable. Couldn't recommend it enough.

I will always recommend Koi! They will explain every item if you ask... they will even give you many options for gluten free! The food has never been bad and there is always more than enough! My daughter loves the sushi and get a different one every time! I am not so daring but I absolutely love all the soups and noodle dishes! read more

The food has a lot of serving for just one person if you don't eat a lot, the service was excellent. The restaurant is clean.

I am gluten free and dairy free and my mom is allergic to eggs. My mom got the Miso soup and the Avocado roll. I got the rainbow roll which is a California roll wrapped in avocado and sashimi. They got us little cups of gluten free soy sauce to go with our sushi. Our waitress was knowledgeable about gluten free and checked with the kitchen to make sure that everything was ok for us to eat. My dad and sister both got fried rice but im not sure if that can be made gluten free or not. Overall, we all enjoyed our food and this is a great place to stop by if you are passing through. read more

Nice little place in a strip mall right off of Convent Drive in Bourbonnais. Classic Asian dishes, but done extremely well. My kids (30 and 26), love the sushi and sashimi. I love the hibachi plate which I'm guessing is supposed to be for two, but I eat it alone (yum yum). It is always fantastic, freshly prepared, and very filling. I couldn't ask for a better place for Asian food (outside of Asia). Highly recommended A++ read more

Me and my boyfriend went here last weekend. I'm new to the area but he has been here his whole life and has only been here once lol. We loved the food and drinks! He had the sushi and I had the Pho. The food was amazing we will forsure be coming back! Drinks were good as well! read more

Not safe for gf - Staff uneducated. and not good in general. Ordered two rolls that had no gluten ingredients listed, but had the waitress check as I wasn't confident in the spicy Mayo. She checked and told me all was ok per the "celiac host". The rolls were delivered and had tempura crunch in them. Thankfully, I ate it before my celiac daughter. I was Sick all the way home. Notified the waitress and said we were leaving. she sent out another staff member who promised to make my daughter a gf roll and they did. Then they charged me for EVERYTHING. All three rolls were on my bill! All that was offered was a free dessert. My non-gf daughter and spouse didn't eat their orange chicken or general tsos chicken- said it was gross. They said the crab Rangoon were ok. So disappointed, especially after the other good reviews. read more

Loved the food. Hated that takeout was over an hour wait. Especially when I waited outside for it to be done.

Good food, but not amazing to much oil in hot sushi rolls 7/10 Service 0/10 nobody gives any napkins, water, soy sauce Ambiance is good 8/10 Service is absolutely bad. read more

I came here with a group of about 10 and they seated us in our own area in the back. It was a little dark, so it didn't feel like the middle of the day once we were inside. I'm told that the sushi here is good, but I'm not a fan of sushi, so I ordered the General Tso's Chicken. It was nothing special, more or less what you could expect from any similar restaurant. Overall, there was nothing extraordinary about my experience, but nothing bad stood out either. read more
