The food and service was excellent especially the tuscan soup!!! I will continue to visit this amazing restaurant.

We were headed home from a trip to Wheaton this afternoon and decided to try Tucci's. Our experience was mixed. We had the misfortune of dining here on a Monday night, when they have a Pasta Bar. The logistics around it were horrible. It was located in the middle of a corridor that we had to pass through to get to our table. There had to be at least a dozen people standing two abreast in a corridor intended for one person. We tried their calamari appetizer and were quite disappointed. They definitely did not use calamari steak, which is tender and succulent. Rather, they use calamari at the low end, and it was correspondingly tough and chewy. They offer a choice of unlimited salad or soup. Our server completely forgot to bring ours until after our main courses arrived. Had we not inquired about it, I suspect it would have been missed completely. As it turned out, the salad was mediocre at best, which is surprising considering it was supposed to be fresh. Not so sure about their supplier. The olive oil and herb mixture they served with their rolls was much more fresh than their salad, bitter implying a positive situation (fresh phenols) when it comes to Extra Virgin or Virgin oils. We ordered their Carbonara with Angel Hair pasta instead of spaghetti and fortunately, it was some of the best I have had in probably 30 years. The main course made up for the appetizer, though. I was NOT expecting to find such extensive gluten-free options in this area of Illinois. So terrific to be able to have plenty of choices and my pasta with clam sauce was really, really good! Love the little flag making it absolutely clear it was gluten-free, too! read more

It was my birthday and my husband wanted to make it special. He tried to make reservations but was told they don't take reservations for 2 and they would seat us when we arrive. we went and they said only 1 table was available. It was in the middle of a very small room off from the bar. everyone would be able to hear our conversation. we asked about all the other vacant tables and were told they were not available. no apology or offer to accommodate. We left and went to Texas Roadhouse. Tuccis lost very Good customers who seldom have less than a $100 meal. We will never go back. read more

What can I say nice about this place other than the hostess greeted me with a smile and sat me right away. After looking at the menu and waiting 10 minutes none of the staff stopped by or even offered a water. I walked out underwhelmed with service or even an effort of trying. Food looked good and place was not overfilled but had four servers walk by and didn't even attempt to say 'hi'. For a hot spot of a small town I would say skip it and hit places you know and love, not worth the hype. read more

Made this stop after decades of driving through Bourbonais from Chicago back to Central Illinois. Boy, did I miss out prior to trying it recently. The Monday night pasta bar was incredible. The options of what you could add to your pasta seemed endless. Two different sauce options (or combined), along with a couple of other sides was almost overwhelming, but I somehow was able to finish my overflowing dish. The never-ending salad and bread only add to the great meal. Will definitely stop again and try a regular menu option if not on a Monday, but the pasta bar is terrific. Service was okay, not super quick, but everyone was busy with the special that night. Ambiance of the restaurant was nice. Noisy and busy, but came off as a typical Italian restaurant. New Year's Eve Dinner here @ Tucci's. DO NOT GO TO THIS RESTAURANT!!!! This is sad! This restaurant stole money from my card! My total was $37 with $5 tip cash! and they charged me $44! How FRUAD lowlife of a behavior to be displayed from a well known restaurant! The food was a waste of time! Everything was dry and hard for my little one to even eat! Do not visit them! They are thieves! Yes it is hard in life but being desperate as a waitress as a card scammer is some serious pain! Decided to try Tucci's Monday night pasta bar. Excellent choice of bowtie and angel hair pasta with delicious marinara and Alfredo. The sausage was so good and also the shrimp. Chef Joey suggested a side of the cheesy meatballs with Ricotta & Joes Sunday pork sauce. They were so soft & excellent! Thank you thank you. The best family owned business in the area in my opinion. A traditional Italian restaurant with great atmosphere, great service and excellent food. I usually get a steak but my wife says that all of the pastas are excellent. The Brushetta is our favorite appetizer. I've never tried it but I've heard from many people that the Pizza is excellent. The prices are below what you would pay closer to Chicago. Highly recommend. read more

Service was horrible! They argued with me over a 2 year old counting as a person at the table and wanted my daughter to sit on my wife's lap. Tucci's consistently puts out solid food. Well run restaurant. Salads always icy cold, pasta dishes are all great and the warm rolls are wonderful too. I'm often traveling alone so eat at the bar. Very welcoming, friendly service. I really enjoy this place. One of only a handful of go to's in the Kankakee area. read more

My husband and I are regulars here. The food is amazing! You will crave it, trust me! I have never had bad service here. The atmosphere is fun and sometimes loud if it's a weekend night. We have a favorite bartender, her name is Morgan. She makes the best drinks, and is so nice to talk to. Joe the owner is frequently seen talking to guests and interacting. I was in town for work from Michigan. Tucci's was located in front of my hotel so I asked the receptionist how it was, which she exclaimed great just come with an appetite. I am sitting at my table alone in a packed restaurant and see a gentleman bopping back and forth from table to table and thought that must be the owner. Next thing I know, he is at my table sitting down talking to me about work and travel. It was such a friendly experience. I told him I got the meat balls and chicken parm and he told me I better have a fridge in my hotel room and boy, was he right. At the end of my meal, he asked if I had saved room for dessert which I said no. He told me nope you have to try the tiramisu and am I glad that I did. The owner, Joe, and waitress made my experience amazing. For someone who travels for work often, I tend to stick to the restaurants I know but I am so glad I came here. It was a beautiful day to set outside for supper! Our server, Nicole, was fantastic! She was attentive and showed up at just the right times. We love the salad dressing, just a tiny bit sweet and it's loaded with olives and cherry tomatoes. It's hard to find a good prime rib, but this one was so flavorful and the added au jus put it over the top. My husband ordered the lemon cake. Don't skip out on dessert! I gave this restaurant one more try after an abysmal visit about a year ago. Let's just say I will not be going for a third time. Service was slow but very friendly as they, like do many other businesses, short staffed. Service wasn't the issue, the food was. I ordered the beef tips with papardelle noodles. When it arrived it looked wonderful. One bite and I had the same problem as last time. There was no flavor to the food. To top that off, the beef was so full of gristle that I couldn't eat it and what wasn't full of gristle had the texture of old shoe leather. I usually don't make a fuss but for a $30 dish, this was not acceptable. Now I need to find a good Italian restaurant other than my local Olive Garden. read more

Extremely disappointing. When our group was threatened to have the cops called on them when someone in our group inquired about being charged for extra dressing and questioned the charges, you know you aren't in Kansas anymore. My daughters gymnastics team and parents came before our state meet. The service was slow, which we were fine with because we know restaurant are struggling. But when service is extremely rude and disrespectful, that's when you know there are other issues. The food was decent but unfortunately our servers and the manager who was getting verbally aggressive was too much for me. we were in town for a gymnastics meet and staying at a hotel right across the street so we decided to give this place a try. My wife has celiac's disease, so she was quite thrilled when she found out they had gluten-free fried chicken. The kids and I got a couple pizzas along with their salad and I have to say the food was pretty darn good. Our server was Tanya, who was absolutely amazing and also gluten-free, so she was able to tell us a little bit history as to why the restaurant has some great gluten-free options. She was extremely attentive, we had a fun conversation with her. We would absolutely come back here again without hesitation, pizza was great, and my wife thought the chicken was out of this world.
