Rigo's has an incredible ambience when you walk in, you're immediately met with a level of sophistication, highlighted by beautiful woodwork that sets the tone for a great dining experience. Hannah, our waitress, was absolutely amazing and made the evening even better. My husband ordered the Rigo Special and it was delicious. I had the tilapia and crab cake special, which was just as wonderful. Both dishes were finished with the same champagne cream sauce, and it complemented each one perfectly rich, flavorful, and well balanced. To top it all off, I enjoyed a few lemon drop martinis, and they were quite yummy. Overall, a fantastic meal with great service in an elegant, welcoming atmosphere. First of all, the service was impeccable. I was seated immediately, and offered a choice of seats! Second, the atmosphere of this restaurant is so comfortable, but yet it gives the customer the elegant vibes if a big city restaurant. As far as the food, I had the Rigo's Special, and would recommend it again, and again! Even some of the most elite seafood establishments are unable to stand up against the crab cakes. I've eaten here at least a dozen times and have never been disappointed. Great service from the owner, his son, and the entire staff. The room is really nice with a gorgeous bar in the middle. Some nice private tables near the kitchen to conduct business too. Try the blackened shrimp with angel hair pasta. Not the most Italian dish on the menu but absolutely delicious. I ordered the shrimp scampi pasta takeout. You guys need to take it off the menu. The dish is smothered in uncooked pre-minced garlic, five shrimp, served with overcooked angel hair pasta in a pool of water and garlic wetness with some assorted veggies. Easy to miss as you drive by but an excellent dinner!!! Traveling thru Kankakee and this was a delightful surprise. I had filet of sole stuffed with crab and a champagne sauce with dried cranberries. My husband had seafood arabiatta and thoroughly enjoyed. Menu was such I had difficulty deciding. Prices very reasonable. Convenient parking. If I'm back in Kankakee, I will make it a pint to return. They are very consistent with the quality and care given to their food. Ample portions that will satisfy a hardier appetite. Pleasant atmosphere smaller cozy dining area, but there is also a large amount of bar space that can be utilized as well. My go-to is the crab cakes! read more

My husband and I were traveling from St Louis up through Kankakee on our way up to Michigan to visit our son. We always check Yelp to find new restaurants in any area we are traveling to. Rigos was 4.4 on a scale of one to five. So we decided to try it. We were not disappointed! Food was delicious, and a great value for the price. I had the pecan encrusted Seabass, and it came with a nice dinner salad and twice baked potato. Delicious! Hot rolls came right out of the oven. Our server, Brianna, was terrific! Super friendly & helpful. Told us about everything we needed to know about specials, & checked back with us every step of the way. The kind of service you only hope for these days! I moved out here from Chicago about a year ago. Being from Chicago food has been something I've missed. I was looking for some place that had good Italian food so I googled and came across Rigo's Place. This place is a Hidden Gem. When I first walked in, I loved the Ambiance and the piano playing in the background. I loved the dim lights with the candles lit on each table. I ordered the Classic Cosmopolitan and it was perfect. It had the perfect balance of flavors and alcohol. For appetizers the Calamari Fritti was delicious and it was fried perfectly. For the main entree I had the Smoked Italian Sausage Pasta and I loved the homemade tomato Basil sauce. It was really good. For dessert I had the Banana Cheesecake and it just melted in my mouth. It was so delicious. The service was great and the waiters were very nice. 10/10 recommend and I will be going back to try other things on the menu. read more

First time to be in Kankakee and we found Rigo's! The menu had so many great sounding choices we had to come back a second night to try something else! I recently had the lamb shank and the c sea cv bass and all were very good. The prices are about the same as some of the chains but the staff is excellent and knows you by name! This has always been one of my husband and I's favorite date night places. The last 2 or 3 times we have been the food was horrible, the cheese in my dish was sour and even though my husband only ate a few bites of his sausage and spaghetti dish, he didn't even want to take the rest home because it tasted horrible. Maybe they have a different cook? We went on a Friday night and the place was empty. So sad because this place was always a gem but something has changed :-( read more

Sauce tasted like a reduction of cream, chicken stock and subtle lemon. Very nice. Steamed veggies could have benefited from a touch of added flavor such as cracked green peppercorn and sea salt. We had 4 different entrees and all were excellent! The lamb shank was moist and cooked perfectly. The Rigo's special pasta was very tasty. We also tried the chicken and shrimp. The blackening spices were flavorful and memorable. I had the Poulet Bleu and the sauce was excellent with a slight blue cheese flavor. The chicken was moist and had good flavor. Overall, this is a higher quality restaurant than out typical KKK restaurant and I am glad we have such great food and service without having to drive to Chicago. read more

The drinks were cold, the Caesar salad tasty, and our crab cakes and steak entrees delicious. Our server Lindsay took great care of us, and even provided a birthday candle!
