This rating is based on the fettuccine (penne) Alfredo with breaded chicken. It was $19 which was quite a bit of money for what I received. When I opened the container I immediately noticed the majority of the pasta was dry (other than butter/oil) and the Alfredo sauce was only on the top noodles. Upon tasting the sauce I knew it was not homemade and tasted like jarred grocery store sauce. The breaded chicken was clearly processed because they were the same shape and not a breast of white meat chicken. Unfortunately, I was unable to eat what was basically nothing like a typical Italian fettuccine Alfredo with breaded chicken. The texture of the chicken was weird and the sauce was bland. I normally would have just let it go but thinking of the cost I just couldn't. I called, spoke with a manager, and explained how dissatisfied I was. This manager explained that the breaded chicken was processed, premade, frozen, and then cooked. The Alfredo sauce was just a brand (maybe Stouffer's?) name jarred sauce. The manager clarified that the grilled chicken was an actual breast of chicken cooked there and suggested that option. I suggested that the menu should clarify what kind of chicken was available and/or the person taking the order should ask if a premade chicken patty or a breast of grilled chicken was wanted. The description given implies both options are a boneless breast of chicken instead of a chicken patty. I was really surprised at the mediocre meal because I have ordered from numerous Aurelio locations for decades and didn't have the same results. It's possible that the company has made changes to the menu or this location has a different product than others. One week later I ordered the baked chicken tetrazzini from Nancy's and it was delicious. The difference between these two options was incredible. One was basically a frozen meal and the other was like a freshly made meal from a restaurant. read more

I was spending time with family so didn't take any pictures. You walk in and it looks and feels like a place that should have pizza. Unfortunately thats were the good stuff ends. Service is nice but also very slow. Expect to wait an hour for a pizza that is on the same level as a frozen pizza. I felt like the crust was slightly undercooked as well as an overseasoning of sauce and Italian seasoning on top. Also shelling out 20-30 bucks for a medium-large pizza. How you get away with charging 18.50 for a salad with literally lettuce and grated Parmesan it was definitely not shaved, barely any chicken and stale croutons and nothing else is beyond me. Our server in Bourbonnais was very good with the exception of forgetting to place the order for our appetizers. No biggie. The pizza however was HORRIBLE! Didn't resemble Aurelios Pizza at all. They did offer to remake the plain cheese which had some kind of cheese crust on the top. Another pizza was beyond well done (which we didn't order that way) to being burnt. The third pizza was also overcooked but not quite as bad as the others. I used to love their pizza. I hadn't been here in over a year so this evening I decided to go get some. I ordered a small sausage, pepperoni, with the gooey cheese, and asked for it to not be overcooked. Price was $19 and some change. Pizza was overcooked, crispy, and had one sausage on each slice. But was piled with pepperoni that I didn't like. So, it will be another year before I return. Maybe next time I'll try a different location this one sucks. We stopped here to pick up food for a family party. The food was fine. They were playing a Christian radio station that was talking about visiting Israel and they had a thin blue line message in the digital signage outside. Given the current political climate it's probably not a safe place for minorities to go to. We felt very uncomfortable. I've been to other many Aurelio's locations for my entire life and I've never seen any kind of religious or political propaganda before. It was pretty shocking. We won't be going back. (To be clear I'm not referring to the pope pizza thing, that's totally fine. We are from the Chicago area so we thought that was cute.) It was just really weird and disturbing to hear extreme right wing Christian radio in a public restaurant. Great ambience. Walking in reminded me of walking into an little Italian village. Felt like a family outdoor picnic. Our waitress was very attentive, checked in several times. We ordered the cheese sticks disappeared on arrival, as the kids inhaled them. Family of four, we got the 18 inch sausage and pepperoni which was more than enough and have some leftovers. Wemt there on 5-9-22 and overall nothing to rant about. Haven't been to an aurelios pizza in a few years but it was the tinley park location and i recalll it being good. Did the recipe change? Because i remember a sweeter sauce and not a cheese mixture on the pizza. The mixture of cheese tasted off (don't know if the cheese was expiring soon or not) Was also told that at this time that they were not serving any kind of pasta or any sandwiches which was odd. Born and raised in New York City, I venture out in my travels to try pizza in other localities and I frequent Chicago, and while in Bourbonnais I tried this place. Had the stuffed pizza, and it was amazing , One of the best pizzas I've ever had in my life, possibly the best, the sauce was perfection - my hats off to you guys - sauce was so good it totally blew my mind and I gotta give proper credit . But they piled an xl pizza amount of toppings on a small and didn't even cook it through. Brought out a wet, undercooked pizza. We were just gonna box it up and take it home to avoid conflict. When Kristina K, our server, came to check on us and asked what was wrong, that is what we told her. We didn't ask to send it back or refund it. Her response was to cop an attitude and blame it on us: "well you did order 8 toppings." And rolled her eyes. Paid out $100 bill for 2 small pizzas and 2 appetizers and left. Terrible experience. The food is reasonable, but the service is unbelievably bad. A couple of our party were accused of lying about whether or not an outside dessert was homemade (I have no idea why that matters so much, because nobody ever told me), when all we were attempting to do was clarify what their policy was. If a manager had told us, clearly, that they had policies against outside food, and had stood their ground on this policy, I think we would have been perfectly understanding, but we got inconsistent answers, and then we were accused of lying to the server. Again, unbelievably bad customer service. The ambiance is exactly what you might expect from a Chicago-style eatery: stuck in the 70's. It's not my cup of tea, but if you like being treated like a stray dog that just walked in off the street, be my guest. read more

There was something off with the cheese "it was Flaky" and the dough was undercooked. After speaking with Manager we were told that at this time of year the cheese from the distributor is like that. Our waitress wasn't really attentive too us. Would have been 4 stars if she was more attentive and came back to the table more. The inside is setup really nice and it was clean. Friday was our first time there. We went on a friend's recommendation. We thought they had good pizza but the waitress was overly curt, in a hurry, and not at all friendly. When asked to get us waters, which she should have done without asking, she made it clear she was very bothered by the request. Same when my daughter requested a soda refill. Also, there was no one manning the wait desk and there was no sign so we seated ourselves. The waitress asked us if we had been seated. When we said we seated ourselves, she asked us to get up and go wait out front. I was "frosted" at that point but took a deep breath. Service went down hill from there. Liked the atmosphere and the food. We will give it one more chance. Hope it's much better next time. read more

6/7/19 Update: Having been dragged to attend a gathering for a birthday a few months ago, we were forced to return to dine in this location. It's gotten worse: the restaurant now plays Christian music exclusively. Putting aside religion as a whole, one running a restaurant should not impose their religion and their music on their patrons, just as one should not have cable news on their televisions--it causes problems. Funnily enough, the employees don't like it either. Three different staff agreed it's inappropriate and were more than happy to change the station to something secular and neutral upon request. I don't think Aurelio's corporate would approve of this location's religious bias. read more

What happened? Within minutes of receiving our thin crust pizza, the crust was so soggy????? Really disappointed. Due to COVID I picked up two large pizza's that were great. I was told it would be 40 minutes so when I came in to pick up my order was still not ready. 30 minutes after arriving to pick my order up I asked again about my order, the gentleman went to check, and then I believe she was the manager her name was Amy. Amy informed me that there was a mistake with the orders and I would have to wait 10minutes more. Needless to say Amy was the sweetest, she apologized and refunded my money for the inconvenience. This place doesn't live up to the hype. I ordered a large pie and an order of onion rings. The rings were soggy and the pizza tasted nasty. To make things worse the service wasn't very good either.
