I wanted to take advantage of the any topping $10 deal they have going right now, cuz it's pretty decent. I'm disabled though and delivery is extremely expensive (The cost of the pizza I wanted would have been double). I called the Papa John's corporate customer service number, and I asked if I could order a pizza for pickup and then they would bring it out to my car for me If I drove through the store and parked my car in front. The customer service rep told me that was no problem, all I had to do is order my pizza on the app and then call the store when I showed up to get the pizza delivered out to my car for no extra cost. That seemed reasonable enough, I was even going to give the person who delivered the pizza to my car a small tip. The corporate customer service also gave me the phone number to call the store directly. It was 3:00 a.m. on December 5th btw. After I hung up with the corporate customer service, I decided to call the store just to make sure it was okay with them. I asked The person that answered at their store if I could order my pizza and pay for it in the app And then call them and tell them when I was outside So they could bring the pizza out to me and put it in the car. THEY SAID IT WOULD MOST LIKELY BE TOO BUSY TO DO THAT WHEN I WANTED TO PICK UP THE PIZZA. So they refused. I decided to call Little Caesars in Kankakee, and they said they would have no issue with bringing the pizza out to me as long as I called them when I arrived. The pizza was also $1 cheaper at Little Caesars, and the quality was about the same, as well as the toppings. I'm familiar with the taste difference of Papa John's versus Little Caesars as well ( I know what to expect from Papa John's; It definitely isn't my favorite place to locally to order pizza, but the deal was decent, and I wanted to try something different) I was more than happy with the pizza got from Little Caesars and the service was a thousand times better than the service I got from Papa John's; That place will definitely be crossed off my list permanently because i felt that they were being lazy and losing my service because of it). All in all, I was actually kind of happy that Papa John's treated me like crap because I was more than satisfied with my Pizza from Little Caesars, and their pizza had stuffed crust, And the pizza from Papa John's would not have. read more

Tried ordering for tomorrow online. Menu didnt work or match what store had regarding cheeseburger pizza. Website said store closed tomorrow had to call store. Worker didnt know.manager said they didnt have that pizza anymore.was for birthday celebration now food plans ruined. Oh well wont be ordering pizza there anymore. Will be finding another place but since it was less than a day kind of a mess TY papa johns will never forget it. read more

Definitely bottom of the pizza chain. Ordered 2 works pizzas and both were completely different in quality. Not a first time issue either. This seems to bk e a quality issue. Papa John's should be a last choice for those in the area only worse place I've found locally is the hut. One pizza was ok. Lacks any real flavor all you taste is sauce not much flavor from toppings and crust was too much considering the paper thin cheese on the pizza that actually had cheese on more than 50% of the pizza. I would not buy a pizza from this place if it was the last pizza place in the country ! While my wife and I were moving into our new house we ordered two pizzas for delivery, only because they were the only people that would deliver out here on the border of the city. Every bite of every piece of Papa John's cheese pizza should be moderately dipped in garlic sauce. Do it right. After moving out of Kankakee County, I am now forced to frequent the Schererville location. I have so many fond childhood memories at youth group and special school occasions eating pizza from here. I worked here for a couple months as a delivery driver. It was my favorite place to get a quick pizza, but now I will never order nor work for them again, at least not this one. I was never ever ever late, not once. I called off for one day towards the end of my second month of being there and I was told it was okay, and to just find someone to cover my shift(which I did, and on time). Then a week later unfortunately, I got food poisoning from a Mexican place that I went for my stepdads birthday. I had to call off because of vomiting and everything else that comes along with food poisoning. Well, to my surprise, I got a text from my manager stating exactly this, and I quote, " Actually I changed my mind. We no longer have a position available for you. Please drop off your clean uniform items. Good luck with your future endeavors. " and THAT WAS IT!!! I received that 2 hours and 15 minutes after my replacement had started my shift!!! And that was the only form of communication I got!! Not a single phone call or a voicemail or anything!!!!!! It's illegal to fire someone strictly through text in the state of Illinois!!! I enjoyed working with a few people there, they were a pleasure to work with as a team. But all but 2 of the managers there are nothing but immature and unprofessional by all standards! This place should be temporarily shut down to rehire their management. Not to mention the way they handled their customers. Absolutely ludicrous! They would be so rude and act as if they didn't care that that customer never ordered from them again. I would always try and accommodate the customers to the best of my ability, but having been so new, I wasn't sure how to always do that so I'd have to ask a manager and then they'd be so rude and inconsiderate, so it left me there feeling the need to apologize for my managers behavior. Furthermore, I would always be assigned to a task that I never had enough training doing, and I'd be stuck doing it at our busiest times, and then I would be made out to be the idiot of the whole place because I couldn't perform the task fast enough, when I had only done it a couple times prior. This place just throws you into the fire and never properly trains you for it. They set you at a computer for a few hours to watch videos and expect you to know how to do everything. Ordered at 510. Estimated 15-25 mins to pick up on a random Tuesday night . Arrived at 530 and was told my pizza wasn't ready yet. During my dreaded wait inside after I already had waited at home 20 mins.. There was obvious frustration in the store between workers. No organization .. I felt very uncomfortable with all the workers being so flustered. I dunked they all just so happened to be new staff. I almost feel sorry for them because the guy making pizzas was the One making the atmosphere so awkward ! 550 finally comes around after waiting inside the pizzeria and smelling like yeast. I finally get my pizza with no apology for the wait. I check my pizza and I don't see pepperoni. They said oh it's under the cheese. After going home to a hungry wife and eating 2 slices I realize there is no pepperoni. Unreal . Called and said they would offer me a free pizza next time. This Papa Johns' location is very good. Fresh, fast delivery is wonderful. No inside seating at this location. Carry-out is a lot cheaper, but why not have the delivery guy bring it to you. They always have great specials (tonight is 5 topping large for only $9.99) you can't beat that anywhere. Not the greatest pizza in the world, but.....cheap, fresh, loaded, tasty, and fast. As far as the pizza goes, it is a decent fast pizza. You can usually have it ready for pick up 15-20 minutes after ordering, even if its ordered on-line through their website. However, their in-store customer service at this location is very much to be desired. Never a friendly smile or even so much as a thank you. And I am not speaking about one visit. Heck, any place of business can experience that "off" moment. But the workers I have dealt with here truly seem to lack customer service skills. This is no more true as when you present them with a gift certificate from "Restaurant.com". I have redeemed two of these certificates over the past 6 months at this location and each time I have done so, you truly get the impression that management has told their staff to find a way to disallow it from being used. The last time I presented one for use, the woman accepting it literally rolled her eyes and never spoke another word to me, except for telling me what my balance was. In a town where there are other fast pizza establishments, this Papa John's fails. The reason I am giving two stars instead of 1 star is because the actual product is favorable. read more
