First issue the inside was locked so I had to go through the drive thru, not a fan of ordering a sandwich from the drive thru because a person doesn't know how you want your sandwich. Fast, friendly service. My chicken philly sandwich did not have hardly any meat on it. It was just bread. I would not recommend that sandwich whatsoever. Went there today and sanitation is next to no where. They had a pile of lettuce on the cutting board from making sandwiches. The manager scooped it up and put it back in the lettuce pan. Let me start by saying there can't be a bad sandwich at Jersey Mike's. It would violate the natural law of the universe. That said: this was an interesting experience. I've been going to Jersey Mike's since I was a kid on the Jersey Shore. (That's a long time!) This is the first Jersey Mike's that I've been to that the staff not only didn't know how to make a sub "Mike's way", but it was clear they never heard of it. So I had to read the ingrediants from the Mike's Way sign to the employee for the assembly process. Sandwich came out good (well, with a metric ton of lettuce!) No harm, no foul. Then came the pickle. She asks "do you want this cut in half?" Me: "yes please" I then watch in disbelief as she cuts it in half, but the wrong direction. In an effort to not embarrass her I asked "oh, I'm sorry. I usually prefer my pickles cut length wise". Now I have a very strange collection of pickle pieces. Again, no harm no foul. Have patience, a good since of humor, and don't be in too much of a hurry and you'll get a great sandwich. One suggestion: tongs for the lemons by the sofa machine. I'll be back. This is the first time I have ever eaten at a Jersey Mike's. The food was all freshly cooked and sliced and was staggeringly good. I am dead serious when I tell you this has switched me from the competitors to this fine sub sandwich shop. My daughter got an awesome sub. It was a wrap of some type. She cannot actually remember what she ordered because she swilled down like a pig rooting for truffles. She told me that was not something I should mention in a review. She is sweet like that. I like this place, I've exclusively used the drivethru and have never been inside. On occasion the waiting time in the drivethru is ridiculous - close to ten minutes or more, but I understand that sometimes things happen with other obligations, understaffing, or preparation of fresh ingredients. This evening I had a genuinely displeasurable experience due to three things; 1. The male taking the order via microphone was very unprofessional, I asked for no tomatoes on a sandwich and his acknowledgement to that was "no toes.." immediately I heard a female voice taking over and she continued to take my order. No big deal, but treat your customer - who ostensibly pays your wage, with the respect of coherent conversation without referencing feet. 2. The sandwich that I requested with no tomatoes was served with tomatoes, #26. Not a big deal, but I am still allergic to them - which I why I requested that they not be on the sandwich. 3. The other sandwich that I ordered, #17 had bone or hard cartilage in the meat and I ended up deciding not to eat the sandwich - not knowing what else to expect. Not necessarily the fault of the staff and perhaps this is an issue with a vendor, but this presents a more significant hazard than otherwise palatable fast food. Having said that, I would not discredit the variety and tastiness of the food served here at the helm of incompetent employees or a bad batch of product, however I will not be returning to this location. The attitude of the drive through attendant is always hit and miss. With the store closed for inside seating nearly every visit, I can understand that short staffing causes stress on the employees who do show up. Sometimes we get a smile and a thank you, however tonight was the classic case of the window not caring about us as a customer. The worker shoved the bag out the window saying "here". As we thanked her she shut the window on us and walked away. After getting home a sandwich was forgotten so we had to drive back. The second person was much more pleasant. Usually the attitude starts at the speaker and carries to the window. This time we were caught off guard. Please know that the food was great as always.. service was lacking though. My first visit today, Dec 2018. It smelled so good when I walked in the door. Inviting, easy to read overhead menu. There's a deli case and slicer so you know the meats are fresh. The grilled veggie wrap was my selection. I lean towards the lowest fat items. It was full of onions, mushrooms and green pepper, fresh tomatoes and lots of shredded lettuce and a generous amount of provolone cheese. The wrap I chose was the tomatoe basil. The other choices were regular flour and wheat. It was delicious! It might be a while before I make a different selection because I'll go back for this wrap again! Additionally, speedy, friendly staff, especially the evening manager (?) who had formerly worked at the Frankfort restaurant. While the sandwiches are the best around, their practices are highly suspect. The last time I went there, they said they were short on change due to this 'shortage' (wink-wink) and they had to keep my change. Now, I wouldn't get upset if they said they'd donate my change to a charity or offer to round down to the nearest dollar, especially since these sandwiches are extremely expensive to begin with. But they did not. Nor did they offer a card that they could write down the amount they were unable to give the customer so they could apply it as a credit on the next visit, which would have been optimal. They just arbitrarily decided to keep 80 of my cents. I explained to the clerk that this was unacceptable since it was nearly a dollar and I then demanded my change and what do you know, they had a drawer full of coins. This left a very bad taste in my mouth and I have not been back since. Covid is no excuse.to rip off your loyal customers. Writing on behalf of my wife who was given a major run around by your staff and manager after a mistake was made on order #1107683741 on 11/8/20. My wife ordered through the mobile app for delivery for 2 sandwiches and 2 bags of chips. My sandwich was a #17 extra meat minus cheese and veg as I cannot tolerate dairy and onions and peppers. When our order was delivered my sandwich had cheese on it. My wife called the store and the associate asked my wife for her email address and stated he would give the manager the information when he comes in the afternoon and he'll email her a coupon for a free sandwich. Is this your normal policy to not immediately replace mistakes made from app orders? If I were the manager I would've remade the sandwich and delivered the correction at my cost but in any event it was not corrected at that time. This was around noon when we received our order. Around 6pm, my wife checks her email and hadn't received any email from the manager so she called the store again and got the manager and he took her information and said he'd send her an email. At the time of this writing, my wife still has not received anything. She has also checked her spam and nothing there either. I've even called the store just to be told a manager was unavailable and they took my contact info but I have yet to be contacted. We've eaten at this Jersey Mike's several times before with no issues but what occurred yesterday is unacceptable since the order with delivery and all came to $32.94 and $15 worth couldn't be eaten. read more
