Check your pizza before you leave. This was supposed to be a cheese pizza. The cheese was burnt and the crust was so hard you couldn't even bite into it. I've been a customer forever, this is the first time I have ever had a bad pizza. Called and talked to the manager and he pretty much accused us of trying to pull something over on them because we tried to just eat the top. I have passed this place a lot . What a mistake. They have amazing home cooked ribs, ribs, get the ribs. We didn't even order them. They just came out of the two day process, and they gave us a sample. Wish I ordered the ribs! Wings were fresh made, pizza was amazing , fries fresh! We ate outside, it was fantastic. The pizza was OK. I'm the first to agree that I'm a bit of a snob when it comes to pizza. We ordered a 12" Johnny's Special. The crust was forgettable and the sauce OK. There were lots of toppings and cheese on the pizza. I would have liked signage that informed a new customer that you had to order at the counter before sitting down. Two waitresses passed by us without asking if we needed anything in the 15 minutes we were sitting at a table. Went to Johnny's Pizza Kankakee,with two friends last night, I had a BOGO card, got a large pizza, very good, when it was time for the to-go pizza we asked for two boxes, so we could split the the pizza even. The Manager came back with one box, and a Styrofoam box, when asked for another pizza box he said that's the best he could do. What happened to pleasing the customer? If I could give this place 0 stars I would, management is rude and completely unprofessional, ordered a salad and confirmed with the employee what I wanted to be on it and what should be taken off, the employee never said anything about the salads coming pre-made. So I got my food and the salad had everything on it I asked to be removed. I called and talked to John and he said they don't take special requests and salads come pre-made , I don't see how this is my fault since I had no knowledge of the way the salads come. I have been buying Johnny's Pizza for years; today was a huge disappointment and from now on I will NOT buy their food. I asked for an extra thin pizza, when the pizza arrived it was not thin. I then called the store. spoke with the phone guy that kept putting me on hold. I asked him if he was the manager and he told me that it was above my pay grade. Ordering from them is super easy if you know what you want, not sure why many people make it difficult and then proceed to complain about their own mistake. Received a burnt pizza (the black things supposed to be green peppers). Called and complained asking for them to remake the pizza. The guy I spoke with became very defensive & rude! At this point I told him I'll just bring the pizza back for a full refund. I was hung up on after being told I wasn't getting anything. So yeah I went up there, took them their burnt pizza back only for the manager to refuse the refund and call the police when I wouldn't accept that. I bought an Italian beef for my mother and she loved it! Hot/Sweet peppers are served on the side. The deep dish pizza sauce is a great balance between spicy/sweet/acidic. Was in town for some business and found this little place. The lady at the counter was very nice and super patient when she could tell I'd never been there before. She made sure I had a menu to figure out what I wanted. Got a couple Chicago style dogs and fries. They were very good l. The dogs were all beef and were even genuine Chicago Style unlike most places who call them that and then just throw stuff on it to make it look like it. The fried came out nice and hot and plentiful. They were over done and hard nor under cooked and soggy which some places have trouble getting right. This is my favorite thick pizza in town, the crust gets a wonderful brown along the top edge, I never leave the crusts. Pieces of tomato under the cheese, you usually have to recut the pieces apart because it flows back together. A coupon on each pizza, 20 means a free pizza.
