***UPDATE , original review 2 stars. Tried leaving a general comment on facebook only to be deleted and not responded to on company Facebook page. So, on Thursday, August 28th, stopped in this location which we have been several times. After being sat at our table...backup, we arrived to a 10% filled space at 430p with no reservation. Was told one should have been made online with a smart tone. We commented that we looked at their page and could not determine that process. Now sitting for about 10 minutes, "NO" server approached our table. So in passing I stopped one and she said she'd find out who's ours might be. Returning and stating I guess she was ours. Appetizers were great but the serving on wine at that cost was less than other comparables like Cooper's Hawk and Francesca's Fortunato. About 25 minutes after we completed the appetizers, again, I had to flag down the waitress. I asked about the eta on dinner, she returned and said shortly. While waiting the room went from a mild tone to a very loud room including the eight woman sitting next to our table that were speaking and laughing beyond rude, like they owned the place. Everyone's meal was great except my was overdone and I guess I should have ordered Italian instead of a Filet Mignon. Here's the next "unexpected bonus", while eating dinner they started playing music....and you'd think they'd play something in the area of Italian. Well, they started with Motown and my Facebook questioned that I tried leaving was, I didn't know that Diana Ross & the Supremes' were Italian. Followed by what sounded like disco music....then Frank Sinatra music finally came next! It was a nice day and we probably should of sat outside in their nicely appointed sitting area, because it go so loud in this establishment, you just about couldn't hear each other. After, being a customer through all of the upgrades and changes...we will have to take a break and explore other Italian options in our community of Tinley Park, Orland Park and New Lenox! ***UPDATE, closing review ZERO stars: Instead of responding to this post, "The owner took it upon himself to call my home and inquire with a family member at 8pm tonight about this fair review!"...............NOW, I WILL NEVER RETURN!

Pillows of heaven ;) gnocchi stuffed with ricotta in vodka sauce
Nena C.

My partner and I dined in last night and enjoyed it so much I convinced him to get takeout with me tonight. He ordered the classic sausage and I ordered the gnocchi stuffed with ricotta in vodka sauce aka 'pillows of heaven'. When I arrived the food was ready, I took it to my car and opened the pizza to take a photo when I noticed I had been handed a Margherita. I walked back in and the kind man at the front, Nina's son, told me I could keep the Margherita and he would go have the classic sausage made... what a sweetie! I had actually been trying to convince my partner to order the Margherita, because I like traditional italian pizza, but he wanted to try a classic. So, it worked out even better than anticipated. I'm actually grateful they made a mistake. :) truly, thank you, bc now I know how delicious your Margherita is, and so does my partner. Haha! I think it converted him! The pillows of heaven are just that, absolutely heavenly. If you haven't tried them, I highly recommend. They are soft and Uber tasty. Next time I wanna try them in the marinara, although the vodka is scrumptious. Wonderful food and people. Thank you.

I had a great meal at Frankie's restaurant and some of the best service that you can have. I picked it based on some great Yelp reviews and they did not disappoint. I had about a five minute wait for a table on a Tuesday night as the restaurant was full. They do have a very nice outdoor seating area as well. My server Travis not only gave me a quick run down of the specials on the menu he also gave me a brief history of the restaurant and where in Italy the flavor profiles came from. Ultimately I had narrowed my dinner choice down to 3 options and after explaining to Travis what I liked, I told him to pick one of the 3 and surprise me. A basket of Crostini bread was served with a small bottle of olive oil and some Parmesan cheese. I typically prefer a soft Italian bread and butter but putting the oil on the crostini and sprinkling the Parmesan on top was kind of fun. My dinner arrived and it was the rigatoni pasta with braised beef short rib. The tomato sauce was delicious and filled with chunks of tomatoes. The pasta was cooked perfect and the beef which was in chunks had good flavor. It wasn't falling apart like some short rib dishes are and you have to fish around to find the meat. The meat in this entree was plentiful, it was a very good dish. After I finished eating my server Travis was going table to table with Limonchello shots for everyone on the house. I had a great experience here and can't wait to come back.

We love Frankie's so much! Valentine's Day is so busy and fully booked, and Frankie still made the effort to switch my table to Melissa's section (we love her!!) The food is outstanding every single time, and everyone works so hard. We will always continue coming here! Side bar- they had a great playlist going for the occasion!

I was quite impressed once I walked in. I had a reservation and was seated almost immediately after arriving. They removed chairs we weren't using to open the table more. It is a smaller restaurant but they made good use of space. The food was quick and so good, I didn't take pictures. The steak ravioli appetizer is a must! Lasagne and filet are also two great main plates. Would come back again .

Love they always have a variety to choose from and fresh. I had the Mixto with shrimp, scallop and salmon blackened. Came with garlic mashed and broccolini which I subbed for green beans. They need to keep this on the menu! It worked for my appetite size as everything was a small portion and the flavor was so good! My other friends also had a special which was Halibut. They raved over that as well. Would like that as a regular menu item! If you go and these are on the menu, you will not be disappointed!

To be clear, the food is still great and the cooks continue to do an amazing job. The issue lately has been the service and overall experience, which unfortunately hasn't been the same over the last couple of months. The only consistency on the service side has been the Hispanic gentleman shucking the oysters ,he's always friendly, hardworking, and deserves recognition. I'm hoping things can get back to the way they used to be because this really was one of our favorite places.

Not good. Not good. Not good. Regrettably ordered two "made to order" sandwiches from their deli…read morecounter. Both sucked BIG TIME. First sandwich was a custom sub sandwich of turkey, Genoa salami, and rosemary ham with cheese, tomatoes, vinegar/oil, and Italian spices. How a sandwich could taste funny is beyond me, but it did. The meat tasted old and was flavorless. It was pre-cut, not freshly cut meat, so who knows how long it had been sitting out in the counter. The bread was stale, could have broke windows with it. They barely put any meat on it (not that I would have wanted more), the sandwich was all bread. No Italian herbs on sandwich. And the icing on the cake, instead of putting a nice, fresh vinegar and oil/sub oil on the sandwich, I was given a two ounce little package of some generic vinegar and oil that was pre-fabricated by some wholesale company, which also tasted really off. The second regrettable purchase was an Italian sausage sandwich. That too was horrendous. The sausage itself had a funny, off taste, not a nice blend of seasonings. And not that I would have wanted more, but the Italian sausage was old and shriveled, so it was like a child-size portion. I asked for some red sauce on the side, let's just say Ragu would have been better, and that's not saying much. To add further insult to injury, the bun was stale. Also got some Nutella butter cookies that they farm in from D'Amatos that is in the city. I have been in D'Amatos and I love their cookies. With that said, these D'Amato cookies were stale/also tasted off. The tip-off should have been the fact that they must have had fifty or more packaged D'Amatos cookies on their shelf. They are bumping $10.00 for around maybe 12 cookies, so they obviously don't sell all that quickly, turn stale, and there you have it. Also weird vibe in there. The employees (including the Rubino son who is always in the deli area) are not friendly at all. I might be a little bit more forgiving if the employees/owner were nice but they are just really indifferent and very unfriendly (especially the owner). Very unfortunate. Sandwiches from Subway would have been better.

Every Lou Malnati's pizza is handmade from scratch using the finest and freshest ingredients. Every year, the Malnati team hand selects California vine-ripened tomatoes for the perfect sweet and tangy taste. The fresh mozzarella cheese comes from the same small dairy that has supplied Lou Malnati's for over 40 years. And the family's secret recipe for flaky, buttery crust has been passed down from generation to generation. The restaurant has a very industrial and mechanical vibe like downtown Chicago. We were greeted promptly and seated in a booth in the dining area. The service was very attentive and friendly and engaged with us in light conversation. We ordered the Malnati Chicago Classic pizza made with Lou's lean sausage, some extra cheese and vine-ripened tomato sauce on Buttercrust in size medium that was perfect for 3 people. It takes a while for the pizza to be made and baked because it is fresh. The pizza was made fresh with fresh tomatoes for the red sauce and had generous toppings. It was served fresh from the oven and the waitress cut the pizza for us and served us at the table. The cheese was stretching when she was serving the pizza. Enjoyed our experience at this restaurant and a chance to try the Chicago deep dish pizza while on our trip.
