Mussels in plenty of tomato sauce and oil. There's plants of bread for you to enjoy this appetizer.

Environment- plenty of high tables and stools around the bar for casual to fancy attire. No dress requirement and you're welcomed as is. Today I was wearing baseball cap and sweatshirt because I was ent plant shopping at local nursery. Service - like I was being hosted at a diamond resort... Dany came by often to see how we were doing and we had great recommendation conversation. He made sure we were happy and enjoyed what we ordered. Prices- comparable to others in the area but their food is comparable to any fine dining your best experience has been. Food- I'm a pescatarian so I had seafood dishes starting with mussels appetizer. I requested a spicy seafood pasta... deeelish! Drinks- they'll make whatever you want but they have an expansive menu. My choices were Pinot noir and Sangiovese, loved both. Ambiance- you want to be cool, relaxed, casual or romantic... you feel comfortable and enjoy it whatever you want your experience to be. Don't hesitate coming here!!!! I've been in the food industry over 25 years... I see everything... I didn't go in the kitchen but I doubt I would change my review.

Delicious food and nice atmosphere with mediocre service. $98 for 3 entrees, a side salad, 2 beers, and a Pepsi. I had an excellent chicken parmigiana made with thinly pounded chicken, which could be a stand-alone, served on homemade angel hair pasta and tangy marinara sauce. Others had the pappardelle ragu and cavatelli. I know everyone is happy about their meals when we force everyone try each other's dinner.

    Shrimp and pasta, so good!

Have been wanting to try this place for a long time, finally did. Food was great, probably the best thing was the shrimp appetizer. Drinks were good and service was decent. Will definitely be back.

My friend and I visited for Saturday lunch and it wasn't crowded. We were able to sit where we wanted which was nice. For drinks, I got a French Martini and she got a Dirty Martini. Both were delicious and served in beautiful glasses. We later shared an espresso martini. The server asked if we wanted cream in it; get the cream. We definitely second guessed ourselves with being asked; but thankfully, it was easy to add in after the fact. For food, we shared some bites. The Caesar Salad was the most underwhelming items but we thoroughly enjoyed everything else. The Crispy Brussel Sprouts and Truffle Fries were my favorites. The boneless wings were good but we got sauces on the side. My Garlic Parm sauce wasn't my favorite but my friend enjoyed her Spicy Garlic sauce. Overall, this is a great spot in Downtown Frankfort to get together with a big group, enjoy a date night, or catch up with friends. They have a good variety of good and drinks as well as a fun atmosphere. Definitely recommend visiting when in the area!

They really need to put a sign on the building by the stairwell or on the stairs because it's confusing looking for it. It seems like we're walking to the roof or someone's apartment and doesn't feel like a public business. We tried going before to check it out but it was st Patrick weekend and it looked like party or bar crawl and packed. We came back this past weekend and it was better but did look like one party was wrapping up on bar side but it was all adults with a couple kids of theirs laying on the couches. I would say this place is best for adults only honestly. As a mom I won't bring my daughter here and we can go bowling elsewhere but for myself I will 100% be back. I love that everything is themed and some original things inside but the water damage, rust, and mold is badddddd. Can't put lipstick on a pig and with people having health issues this is a big no no for people with mold illness or autoimmune diseases. The lanes are looking original and I don't think I've ever seen the ball returns like that so it was cool and vintage but dangerous lol. The balls come back SO fast and they were flying off the rack. Not really safe. The lanes were warped and uneven and didn't seem waxed so I sucked at bowling no matter what I tried. It was $45 an hour plus shoe rental was maybe $3 each? We got cocktails and apps. There could be more appetizers on the list but the dip was okay and my margaritas were great. We got two games and like 4 frames in an hour with two adults. We were really just trying to relax and have fun so the bowling and prices were expected and just whatever that day. I don't ever treat myself or drink much anymore and gladly was spending it on those. Not really a fan of how awkward the combined lanes are and the people who were there first had us basically walk into their date with all of their food on the table for us to sit over because it was so small and somehow supposed to share tables. They picked all their food and drinks up and moved them and stood to eat to give space between us. Literally all the lanes were open and they put us with them at the end together. Odd. The workers were all nice but there was a lot of workers and no one was really working? A bunch of them were talking in the chairs behind the lanes and the bartenders were talking to each other. Our waitress said her shift was ending/ wanting us to close our tab out as soon as our game ended and we said that's fine we can go up to the bar and keep chatting/ drinking. But she never left so we thought maybe they wanted our lane even though all the others except one were open but no one took our lane after.. The bartenders were talking to each other a lot and lacked eyes on the bar. The bar back seemed super young and out of it and didn't ask if we needed something or wanted to grab the bartenders even though he could hear us and we were staring at him and the bartenders. Whatever still enjoyed our time and the bartender came and brought me another drink. The 2nd drink she repeated it and then brought me a 3rd drink that was completely different but it was still good lol. The bathrooms are cute and clean. The dining side is probably better than the bowling side. The bar is cool. Overall liked it but seems like kids are running the place and could use some tweaks. 10/10

I've been recommended to try this place more than a few times, but we were reluctant to pay what we call "the Frankfort tax". We started our dinner with their new egg roll appetizer and a couple of drinks. I had a Japanese-style old fashioned with Japanese whiskey (of which I've never tried) and it was good! Not overdone with the syrup/sugar, and the whiskey was smooth. The eggrolls! WOW the eggrolls. They were fried fresh in clean oil and so so good. They nailed it with the menu addition. I can't exactly remember which sushi rolls we got, but we for sure went all out. Of the 3 I ordered for myself, the spicy salmon roll stood out the most. Unlike other sushi joints, the salmon in this roll was cut into bigger pieces with less sauce -- it was more about the FISH and it stood out. It was very fresh and not fishy at all. Bar none the best salmon roll I've ever had. The decorations were great and unique. I loved the cherry blossom trees and the wall of figurines! The service was great as well, our server was attentive while the busboys were quick to clean our table. We even received a free dessert for our milestone! They also had someone walking around with accompaniments for our water. The only thing I can really nitpick in this department is the restaurant wasn't particularly busy, yet they sat another couple directly next to us. The restaurant is very close quarters. All in all, this is just about the best sushi experience I've ever had. It was well worth the price and I really don't have any complaints. It was a perfect choice to celebrate 3 years together!

The restaurant is located in what appeared to be a very safe and affluent area, with plenty of parking available and a nice park nearby that's perfect for a walk after dinner. The prices are definitely on the higher end, but the food was excellent. We especially loved the tuna roll and eel roll. Both tasted incredibly fresh; honestly, it felt like the chef had just caught the fish moments before preparing it. Everything was delicious and beautifully presented. One minor complaint was the water. It was served without ice and tasted somewhat bland. I'm not sure if it was heavily filtered or just sitting at room temperature, but it was lukewarm and not particularly refreshing. Our waitress was fantastic: very attentive, knowledgeable, and helpful throughout the meal. The only service issue we encountered was that the busser cleared one of our plates before we had completely finished eating, which made us feel a little rushed. Overall, it was a great dining experience with outstanding food, excellent service, and a sophisticated atmosphere. While the prices are high, the quality of the sushi makes it well worth considering for a special occasion.

Friends! You have to stop in and have a meal at this very nice spot!…read more It has been in Mokena, IL for 2 years. We went early afternoon on a weekday, so there was no wait, and the place was almost empty. The water came in an adorable carafe, with 6 oz "shot glasses". I found it to be so cute! And it was just enough water for sipping. It was iced cold. I believe we were just thirst and drank it all, lol. Free to the table- House Chips and Salsa. Simple and straight to the point. Ok, to the good stuff! Starters/App: We ordered a "Salsa Flight". It is just what it sounds like, a flight of assorted salsas. There were 6. Great for sharing, not big portions. It ranged from sweet, smokey, fruity, savory, to spicy baby! Of course it came with tortilla chips. So, so good! We also ordered Birria Egg Rolls. Friends!!! Delightfully yummers! Crisp on the outside, cheesy and meaty inside. The cooks were creating magical bites for me this day. lol Very good bites. I ordered a Pina-Colada Margarita. This sip was DELICIOUSNESS. Omg! Like....fresh, and powerful, yet well balanced. TASTY SIPS FRIENDS! I ordered what was like a Taco/loaded steak potato with all the trimmings (cheese, steak pico, sour cream). That is what came on it. There were other option of meats. Because I was so focused, I don't even recall what my date ate. HA! But I will say that my potato was not the best. It was over and under cooked. You are probably wondering like "HOW IS THAT"? Well, the potato was not cooked all the way through(hard pieces), but it was burnt at the bottom of the potato (images to come). That was disappointing. The starters/apps were so tasty, I ended up not finishing the potato, but I was saddened that they served the potato knowing the shape it was in. The meat and cheese and such couldn't even hide it once you moved the toppings to the side. Now, don't let my unhappy potato stop you from checking this place out. I am looking forward to bring my family back, and a few friends. If off sips and chips alone, its a place to get familiar with. Finally had a chance, and I will return. As always, you don't have to take my word for it, go get you some!

It was a weekday afternoon, so there weren't many patrons dining in when we arrived. The host greeted us warmly and chose a seat near the front window. I believe our waitress was also the bartender. She was friendly and attentive. I had the chicken tinga and steak tacos. My mom just had a single ground beef taco. The tacos were okay. The food was decent, but I can't say that it was memorable or something I'd want to eat again. It definitely wasn't authentic or anything close to what you'd be served in Mexico, Pilsen, or Back of the Yards. The restaurant was clean and cozy though. The service was also excellent, so that was a plus. Maybe stop in for a drink or the chips and guac instead of the food. The bill was about $32 plus tip ($10).

Disclaimer: I won't even pretend I know what I am talking about. Take this review with two grains…read moreof salt, and add one of them to the food. I had the opportunity to try the Pork Belly 'little snacks', Oysters Rockefeller, Smoked Prime Rib (Fri/Sat Special), as well as the Raspberry No-hito (non-alc) and the Smoked Old Fashioned. The Oysters Rockefeller were phenomenal. While I typically take my oysters raw, I am glad I ventured out of my comfort zone on this one. While the oysters themselves were a little on the smaller side, the sauce was savory, creamy, and all around excellent. I also love how they were baked in their wood-fired over, bestowing not only delectable browning, but also a little bit of smoke (this will be a common theme, just you wait!). One word of caution: the bed of salt makes it easy for a few extra sprinkles to make it into the oyster, making it considerably salty. Next come the Pork Belly snacks. These were cooked perfectly, with the meat tender and the fat rendered ideally. They weren't completely melt-in-your-mouth, but this isn't a complaint. I believe these too were cooked in the over or over the fire, as opposed to whatever preparation makes pork belly so soft it might as well melt in a pan. Also enjoyable was the Red Pepper Jelly. I was expecting something similar to the jarred stuff I have in the fridge, but was instead pleasantly surprised with a lightly sweet and hot, seemingly house-made pepper jelly. Before continuing, I have to once again admit that I can't speak authoritatively, and make no claim that my thoughts originate in the mind of greatness. The Smoked Prime Rib is where I must be less of a raving fan. I want to give credit where credit is due: this is a big, honking piece of meat! I also want to recognize that it is just about the smokiest steak I've ever had, similar to a top-notch BBQ joint. With the help of the smoke, I cannot deny it was a tasty piece of meat! However, I have three complaints. First, I requested it medium-rare; this felt like something between a medium-rare and a medium. Second, the jury is still out on the fat content. The marbling did not feel incredible, and the very large bits of untrimmed fat felt unnecessary in my opinion. Finally, there is the matter of seasoning, as the steak felt under-salted. Given that the horseradish sauce gave the opportunity to add a new dimension of flavor, but salt is the magic that helps elevate everything. This dish also came with Brussels sprouts and smashed potatoes. The potatoes were cooked and seasoned well. The sprouts, however, fell short of the mark for me. For them to go from good to great would need a little more fat and salt. Good news is that there is plenty more food to go around! The drinks, the service, and the vibe. For beverages, I ordered a Raspberry No-jito (non-alcoholic) and a Smoked Old Fashioned. The No-jito was done very well; it was minty, refreshing, a little tart, and not overpoweringly sweet. The Old Fashioned was hands-down phenomenal. Not only was the use of smoke great to add smoothness, but the quality of ingredients and their balance were all top-notch. The kind of drink that takes me back to the decade ago when I reached drinking age and fell in love with Old Fashioneds. Next, we have the service. The bar-servers were all extremely welcoming, attentive, professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. Points also for the manager/owner checking in to see how I was going and if I was happy with everything. Mega points for all the food coming out quickly and with appropriate timing. Real talk: having eaten at Smyth, while their team is great, they could learn a thing or two from the service team here. Regarding the vibe, which is modern and upscale without being stuffy. The kind of spot where I'd love to spend a few hours with friends, a date, or alone. While the prices are a little on the high side, given the price of everything, and especially beef, I think the value is on the high side of fair. Final verdict: The Phoenix Kitchen delivers excellence with their staff, vibe, drinks, and most of their food. While the steak fell a little short for me, this could be a one-time fluke, or a matter of preference and/or ignorance. While Homer Glen is a bit out of the way, and this isn't *quite* a destination, I'd happily return, and give it my recommendation.

I know it'll be there by my next visit, which will be soon. A seller for me is homemade pasta with an option for gluten free. If it was organic it's a hard 5. No judgement though. Frankie's is the spot where you park up by 3:45/3:50 and wait for the doors to open as their hours are short, hot and sweet. This is a tucked away spot packing tons of flavor on the small menu(major hit). Locals pack this spot asap at the bar so be there by 3:45. Haha. The restaurant has nice decor and attentive friendly service. As the server comes to the table with heavy greetings, they run down the special menu. Drinks are always good, nothing intricate but enough to elevate the experience and hit hard. The appetizers are good. I enjoyed the calamari and shrimp as well as the octopus. But now to the star of the show is their pastas. FRIENDLY REMINDER, all are homemade. The Pappardelle w/ Wide Ribbon Pasta, Black Truffle Cream Sauce and Mushrooms is amazing.. I added the gluten free meatballs and yummy. A savory bite. The rigatoni vodka sauce(added sausage) was a hit. Another star of the table was the Linguine w/ Shrimp,Broccoli, Evoo and Garlic. A fully loaded plate. The Gnocchi w/ Ricotta Cheese Filling, vodka sauce.. added meatballs was another hit. The star of the show was our pizza which resembles a meat lovers with pepperoni, Sopressata and Giardiniera (which is more like a relish and I love). I've had other dishes but after multiple countless visits this is what I love at this time. The pizza is cooked in a high heat oven which gives the perfect char, let it settle for a couple minutes as it sits on the table. Overall, when in this part of Illinois hands down the place to be. Hours are only 4-9pm and that says a lot. My only insight would be ask for the bread to be served warm. I'm sure a fresh loaf in the pizza oven for a couple of minutes will go a long way. ENJOY!
