I walked inside this restaurant with my girlfriend. We were stoked to sit down and have a Chinese dinner, but unfortunately the dining room wasn't open. We were already there, so we grabbed a menu and took a moment to digest what we wanted. The menu was rather large, so maybe it took longer than a moment. Anyways, we ordered the #22 Dinner Special, which is Sesame Chicken. The Dinner Specials are served with an Egg Roll and a side item for only $12.25. We chose BBQ Pork Fried Rice. We also ordered the China Koon Lo Mein (Beef) and that was $14.95. That seemed pretty steep, but I was craving a big bowl of noodles, so I did what I had to do. The food took about five minutes. They didn't waste any time in preparing it for us. That was a huge plus! We took it on a journey and parked off the road for a Chinese Feast. The Dinner Special was packed full in the container. It's crazy how much Chicken they were able to squeeze in there! The Chicken was pretty chewy. It seemed that some pieces were better than others. The sauce to it was good, though. The Pork Fried Rice was alright. I'm not a big fan of Pork, so the small pieces didn't interest me too much. The Egg Roll was pretty dang good! The shell of it was pretty thin and it wasn't greasy. The Lo Mein was good quality. I wasn't crazy about the Beef in it, but the noodles were definitely good. The service here was fast and easy. There weren't any problems in that field. Overall, this restaurant is close to my residence, so I'm sure I'll try a meal here again someday. I recommend getting a Dinner Special, as the price and portion size is amazing for it. read more

I always get the best food here I actually like the new digs and the new menu. The udon noodles have a great flavor. The noodle is just a bit too large and chewy for me. But it seems everything else has gotten better since the update. But make sure you are on time because they close directly at 10 or before if it is slow. This restaurant is a few blocks from me and we keep trying to like it. The food isn't terrible, but I've definitely had better. I've made the mistake if trying their Thai dishes a couple of times, and they definitely are NOT a Thai restaurant. I don't understand how you can have the heat from a curry with absolutely no flavor at all. Most of the food is either bland it drowning in sauce. We would probably be able to tolerate the food for something quick on occasion, but the prices are not worth it at all. On top of it, the three times we've decided to get it delivered, it took over an hour to get the food and they messed up the order each time. The last two times, I ordered online to make sure there wasn't any misunderstanding, but they still forgot items or sent the wrong dish. So, we had to wait even longer for our food. As I mentioned, we live a few blocks from the restaurant. I could have walked there, ordered, waited, and walked home in the time it took to get my food. The curry chicken was beyond bland, worst I've had, evenfrom a home cook. The Saigon noodles lacked a decent amount of veggies, noodles we're a gummy mess, and was also bland. Finally, the Kung Pao beef was the one dish I would give 3 stars, and it changed my rating from 1 to 2 stars. While still average, it was the only dish we had that was even close to the right flavor profile, but still needed more hot peppers, there were only 4 in the whole dish. When I moved away from The Region, I missed it. I craved it. Their egg rolls are good, but on the greasy side. My favorites are the sweet & sour chicken and the beef & broccoli. The staff is friendly and move at a quick pace. The prices are affordable/inexpensive and you get a lot of food. I always end up taking more than half of my order home with me when we dine in. This place is okay. I'm giving it 3 stars by midwestern standards. In the west coast, this would be a 1 star. I'm not expecting a lot from Indiana asian food so this would be categorized under greasy american chinese fare- which sometimes can be awesome if you're in the mood for fat ass inducing food. Who wants to eat a bowl of hot and sour soup pudding? Not me. I'm looking at you Yummy Yummy in Lakeview. (that's a Chicago neighborhood for any Indiana folks reading this) I usually never go for egg drop soup and I'm pretty traumatized by hot and sour soups in the midwest so I never even think about them, but I would go out of my way for these again if I happened to be in Indiana. Same with their potstickers! They are pretty good, obviously made in house cuz I can tell by the dough and it's pan fried. A little greasy but really good. I got my friend hooked on these cuz she never tried them here before. As for their entrees.. meh, they are okay, they have dinner combo's that come with a soup and eggroll... there's options to have it with noodles or fried rice, plain rice. When it says noodles it's just noodles that are plain, no seasoning which I thought was weird and gross. Most chinese places at least lightly stir fry it up with a little seasoning. I got that with sweet and sour shrimp which were pretty standard. I like that they serve the sauce on the side. It's homemade sweet and sour sauce by the way... very similar in taste and appearance as my dad's homemade sweet and sour sauce. We also had seafood kow and chicken and brocolli at the table.. both in white sauces, they were okay. Same with the eggroll, they use chinese bbq pork in it and some bits were fatty- which I loooved the fatty bits. It's a pretty good americanized egg roll. I want to come back and give their moo shu a try. I feel like this place can be a hit or miss but the owners are so nice and friendly, very in your face friendly. Great "Americanized" Chinese food for dine in or take out. Interior of the restaurant has been renovated and updated, so look past the drab exterior. Dinner combos come with egg roll and fried rice. They were very fast with delivery. There was a LOT of food, which was nice. We ordered the potstickers, I personally did not like them at all. I ordered the sweet and sour chicken wax was very good but they put the sauce in the stirafoam container on the chicken, not on the side, so the chicken was soggy at the bottom. The egg rolls was crispy and delicious. My boyfriend ordered the orange chicken which was very good. The added price of $3 extra to have shrimp fried rice was a little steep but tasted good. Food is not bad but really greasy/oily. After picking up my eggroll my hands were sopping wet w oil. Kung pow chicken was rather bland although advertised HOT. The service was great. The older Chinese man who runs the place was constantly checking up on us. Also the prices for lunch specials were great and food portion is really good w several alternatives for sides if you don't want the fried rice.
