So first I will start off with this is not my first time at this location, as I have had ups and downs at this location. My review is mainly for yesterday Sunday Sept 13, 2020 So My Lady and I decided to place and order with them since we were driving back home from Indy and did not want to make supper. So we ordered the following: Appetizers: 2 Orders of Egg Roll (Veggie) 2 Orders of Chicken Teriyaki on Stick 1 Healthy Salad Mango 1 House Soup - Wonton Sushi: 1 White Dragon Roll 1 Chicago Moonlight Roll 1 Unagi-Q Roll 2 orders of Ika(Squid) Sushi pieces(brings 2 an order) entrees / meals: 1 Order of Orange Chicken, was to coem with white rice, but got fried instead. Drinks: 2 Smoothies - Coconut Pineapple Overall our meal for Dinner was great, and yes of course we had left overs due to the amount of food we had, but it was worth it in our opinion. We both can say with the orange chicken they make compared to others, we can actually taste the orange in their recipe, something we really like and appreciate, plus we enjoyed eating it the next day unlike others. It is not over fried and has a sweet taste but not over powering, just right. Only issue with the order for orange chicken was I ordered white rice an got fried rice, but it was no big deal, just a preference was all, but I was not over charged so I let it go. We both love their wonton soup, so it is something we tend to always order. As for the Mango Salad It was not what I thought ti was going to be, just iceberg and mangos, so it was alright, but I personally liked the ginger dressing they had on it. We both loves the Chicken Teriyaki on Stick, chicken had flavor and was real good, almost wishes I placed 3 orders lol. Egg rolls had good flavor for veggie, we did get a free pork egg roll but I did not really care for the pork, but then again I rarely eat pork. As for the sushi, we have not really had any big issues this year unlike we use to several years ago, so that will be a hit or miss at any establishment, but for now I can say we loved the rolls we orders yesterday. I just with they had more selections without cream cheese. Only fair warning I can give is with the drinks, in the smoothies you are only allows 2 ingredients per order or it is extra, the coconut pinapple seems likes one option in the menu if ordered from their app, but it s actually 2 ingredients do not be fooled, as I was. Overall it is a good flavor for a smoothie. Overall we loved the Chinese and Japanese we ordered and will definitely be back in the future. read more

I spent 35 minutes of my time and drove 12 miles because I was served an egg foo young that was badly burnt. It was so overcooked that it smelled bad, and I find it hard to believe that the person who prepared it didn't realize there was a problem before serving it. I called the restaurant to let them know what happened. I was told they would prepare a new order so it would be ready when I arrived. The person at the front specifically verified that I was leaving home immediately. When I got there, however, it was clear that the replacement order had not been prepared. What bothers me most is the disregard for a customer's time. Whether it's a restaurant, doctor's office, or any other business, my time and effort are just as valuable as theirs. I ended up spending 35 minutes and driving 12 miles to correct a problem that should never have occurred in the first place. The time and inconvenience involved substantially exceeded the value of the dish. The only reason I made the trip back was because kids can be picky about what they will eat, and when they want something prepared a certain way, you make the effort to get it right. As for the food itself, I would consider it comparable to the other mediocre Chinese restaurants in the area. I work downtown and prefer going to Chinatown when I want Chinese food. Unfortunately, my usual restaurant is currently closed for the month for vacation. I can't wait for them to reopen. read more

I ordered online and went to pick it up. You can also choose delivery, but need to call the store to pay over the phone. This was my 2nd time actually dining here - but thought I needed to review. Upon ordering, it said my order would be ready in 20-30 minutes. I got there in about 30 minutes. I did have to wait a bit as there appeared to be one person working and she had a table she was also serving at the same time. I ordered the Basil Chicken w/brown rice & Kung Pao Pork w/white rice. I also ordered the Edamame. The one Basil Chicken order was a dinner and included an egg roll and salad. The Edamame was fine. Not super HOT, but I also waited a bit and it took me about 12 min to drive home. But they were just fine. The Kung Pao Pork was not as spicy as I thought it would be. But there were TONS of vegetables in it. The taste wasn't super powerful, so it was just okay. The Basil Chicken was good and also contained a ton of vegetables, which I liked. Peppers, corn, zucchini, onions, string peas and mushrooms. I may have missed a veggie, but there are quite a few varieties. The Chicken was good...again not the most powerful taste, but it was fine. The salad was warm and I couldn't eat it. I would have prepared the salad be in a separate bag so it stayed crisp and chilled, if it was supposed to be. The egg roll was mostly breading and hard to actually chew. Not my favorite. But to be honest, I'm not a fan of egg rolls. They threw some sauces in the bag, but no chop sticks so you may need to ask if you need those. The only other minor issue was the sauce was already leaking inside the bag from one of the styrofoam containers. The menu is extravagant and filled with half Chinese items and half Japanese items. I will try again and focus more on Japanese items next time. read more

Dragon Bowl has a very basic atmosphere and clearly focuses mainly on takeout rather than dining in. It serves standard American Chinese food--as basic as it gets--and while the Chinese dishes are okay (not great, but not terrible), I would strongly recommend avoiding the Thai options. We tried them and they were really not good. If you're looking for a quick, no-frills Chinese meal to take home, it's a decent enough spot, but definitely skip the Thai menu entirely. read more

I have been eating here for about seven years. I was quite disappointed in my order today. I received an egg roll that was so small and I would actually call it anemic. Barely anything inside the egg roll. (See the photo). When they say plain fried rice, they mean it. There weren't even any green onions. No eggs. Nothing. I got a salad which was nothing but Iceburg lettuce and watered down dressing. I'm in disbelief at the way their standards have changed. That was my last time patronizing this business. I visited dragon bowl tonight and I ordered Plain fried rice extra onion. I got my food into my dismay the rice was extra gummy and seem to be over cooked. I returned to the restaurant to request my order to be made over and when I received the new order it appeared to be the exact same way. The cashier told me "nothing is wrong, it's just you" . The owner approaches and says " what's wrong with it, it's rice" I explained to him and showed him the video that I recorded and he proceeded to tell me " GET YOUR MONEY AND DONT COME BACK HERE" then he literally THREW THE MONEY AT ME. I was surprised because I eat here every week and for them to treat a patronizing customer with such dismissive behavior is truly unacceptable. I would never place another order here. There aren't a ton of recent reviews so it's hard to know about this place, but I was desperate for pad thai and thought I'd try the lunch special. I don't know what I was served, but it wasn't pad thai. It's as if someone was described what pad thai was and they mixed it with sweet and sour. I'm not going to lie, this wet mix of rice noodles, basil, zucchini, red pepper, and bean sprouts was okay. It would make a decent stir fry if you like it sweet, but it is Not pad thai. The lunch special included chopped iceberg in what I can only describe as watered down Russian dressing. From the looks of the place and the low volume lunch orders, I can't say that I'll be coming back to try another option, and I'll definitely not miss the sushi. read more

I'm not sure why almost all most restaurants that have this kind of food is closed on Tuesdays but a lot of them know how to report what their hours are and what days they are closed so you do not end up having a not stop stream of people driving to your place. **UPDATE 01/09/2018** Sushi is still good, but our waitress was HORRIBLE and the spicy hot pot was NOT EDIBLE. We ordered the Spicy Szechwan fish hot pot and I was mortified to see that it looked like it was made from a whole jar of chili paste, a whole bottle of chili pepper flakes, and soy sauce. It didn't even have a soupy texture, it was thick. The fish tasted old and spoiled. I asked our waitress if she could send the food back and she retorted with "it's a new recipe. That's how we make it!!" I told her we still could not eat it but am willing to pay for it. She takes the bowl, goes to the kitchen, and starts yelling in the back in a different language. I was mortified and embarrassed! They definitely took my offer and charged me for the soup with no apologies, she just dropped the check on our table. Order carry out and avoid dining in if you still plan to eat here!! I gave this place a 5 Star the first time, but the service and the spoiled cooked food has scared us off and turned me off of Dragon Bowl. This is our favorite place for Asian cuisine! Had an issue yesterday in that they forgot to put the egg rolls in when packing our order. They actually took the time to drive to my house to deliver them, and within a reasonable amount of time (we were still eating dinner). Went here for the first time today. First impression was okay, furniture and floor looked nice, but as we sat waiting I began to notice some things that I don't think are health department approved. The pitchers of water sat out with no cover and the plastic container they are using for an ice bin was also open on the counter with the hand scoop in with the ice. Customers have to walk very close to this counter to get to the restroom. The counter was jam packed with stuff and they used the floor under it for storage also. Wall and door by the kitchen entrance were dirty. Our server did not come to our table for about five minutes, when she did she wanted our food order. I said "I'll start with a Pepsi, and she just stood until she got our food order. When I got my Pepsi, it was a unopened can with no glass of ice. My husbands iced tea came in a disposable cup. My orange chicken was just okay, husband got shrimp and asparagus and although he got a lot of shrimp there wasn't much flavor in his food. Waitress did not stop by our table again until she came with the bill. I have been to Dragon Bowl a couple of times. I haven't explored that many of the items on the menu. My go-to meal is the sweet and sour chicken. If you get the dinner, you get a small salad, egg roll, and fried rice with it. It's a pretty good deal with a cheap price (about $8-$9). My boyfriend had some type of spicy beef fried rice. It was a lot of food and neither of us finished out plates. Strangely enough, my boyfriend ended up throwing up his dinner really early that morning. Not sure what happened. Maybe the food wasn't cooked enough? Or maybe the spiciness just didn't sit well. This is the first time this has ever happened at this place. Ordered food for my mom online and she received all dinner plates, which was incorrect. She ordered 1 dinner plate and the other 2 were the entrees. I gave her the letter/numbers of each item and she called Dragon Bowl. First, the person on the phone decided she couldn't speak much English when my mom got upset. Then, she started screaming at my mom on the phone about how the order was all dinner plates and she wouldn't fix them. My mom has trigeminal neuralgia and it triggered an attack on her face. Dragon Bowl is super rude, liars and thieves. If someone pays for an entree, you can't lie and give them a dinner plate that costs less.
