They're food has ALWAYS been on point. Fresh, Hot & Delicious Everytime. They haven't been open since COVID-19 shut down everything (March 2020). I heard they have sold the restaurant. I'm very saddened because they had "THE BEST" Chinese food around town. I will miss you Wings. Sending a BIG "Thank You" to the owners for putting several smiles on my face & making my tummy very happy & satisfied. Note To Owners: If you should read this review & just have relocated. Please do not hesitate to forward me your new location if your in the IN or IL area. In the meantime your restaurant will be truly missed. Stay Safe & God Bless read more

The best Chinese food I ever had so far. It was so tasty but then they closed down and I have missed them ever since. Service was normal and it was quick 15 mins. read more

Small carry out place. No seats just take out and delivery. The food was very good and reasonably priced. No frills carry out. You will like the egg rolls and the rest. Ill will be back for more. read more

Orange chicken was awful! Orange chicken was floating in a puddle of grease. It was inedible my girlfriend had to spit it out immediately. Service was quick. But I would not recommend to anyone. read more

Love the orange chicken. They always serve you a great amount of food. I recommend this place.

Good food with awesome portions, at a reasonable price. I usually order the shrimp egg foo Yung or Mongolian beef lunch combo. Can't go wrong with either one. read more

My favorite been going here since 2011. Anytime I'm in town I will always go here. Sad the prices went up but understandable since the cost of living has gone up. read more

If I could give this restaurant a zero I would. My husband want to try this place and let me tell you the food was so gross I asked for the General Tso it had no flavor the chicken tasted bland the fried rice was disgusting and the eggs rolls were ok. I will never order for here again. read more

Doesn't look like much from the outside but the food is great! Went up in price but what hasn't . Right? Good food better deals Wings

Today was our first order, and so far... so really good! I'm going with four stars since it's just our first order, but we will definitely order from here again. We had shrimp fried rice - some of the most flavorful that I've had, lots of shrimp too. Also, Singapore Noodle - very good, and surprisingly they don't skimp on the meat - Beef Chow Mein - noodles were cooked PERFECTLY, I just wanted more to go with the beef - and lastly, Crab Rangoon... also delicious, could use more crab. All in all, very promising for orders in the future, and definitely giving Fortune House a run for their money! read more

Everyone loves this place according to the reviews. My coworker raves about it so I thought I'd give it another try. I wasn't impressed the first time. I've tried to go during normal business hours before and after covid and they were closed. I thought they were out of business, drove by 3 days later and they're open. This alone gets them zero stars because of unpredictability. This sucks! I was hungry too. read more

I'm a fan of their orange chicken dinner special. After 3:00 pm, it is served with combination fried rice (beef, ham and shrimp). read more

See all

The food is really good, but the service was really, really bad. I ordered online, went there at the appropriate time, the order never made it from the counter to the kitchen. I stood there for 25 minutes. Not even a "sorry your order was so late." Don't use the online system outside of lunch, maybe. read more

Wings is located at 6822 Calumet Avenue in Hammond, IN. The food is FANTASTIC and they're "super quick". Whether you're picking up your order or having it delivered, it'll be quick. Wings is your PERFECT little Chinese food place. You don't eat there, I mean, there's a table and a few chairs, I don't see why you couldn't eat there. I guess if you had to or wanted to you could - but why? I order from there at least three - four times a week, I love the shrimp fried rice. They give you a HUGE amount of shrimp fried rice with every order too. The egg rolls are excellent & I highly recommend the Broccoli & Beef. If Wings is anything, it isn't BLAH...oh, there's always that ONE person whose got to knock it...go against the grain, if you will, but 999 people out of 1000 would definetly say that they would love WINGS! There's a television, but it's so the cashier has something to do. The television is on some Chinese station, so unless you know Chinese, you're not going to understand a word. read more

Wings Chinese Food - a sign for wings chinese food - Chinese Near Me - Hammond, Indiana

The best Chinese restaurant I'll can across. It's a hole n the wall but pretty good food.

If I could give them no stars I would!! I placed my order online picked it up got home, it was horrible the chicken wings tasted old snd they were very salty. I also ordered curry shrimp they gave me all chopped up bell peppers with about 3 small shrimp With double the rice which I asked them to hold I will not be ordering from them ever again I don't know what happened but they used to be very good! Must be under new management since COVID. just terrible!! read more

Wow! I've been looking for a good chinese restaurant and tried Wings for the first time earlier this week and it's so delicious! We just had to have it for dinner again tonight. The vegetable soup had plenty of vegetables. The beef chop suey had plenty of tender beef in it and the vegetable chop suey tasted great too. They sent several packets of soy sauce, not to mention several fortune cookies. DELICIOUS! read more

Been eating at Wings restaurants for over 30 yrs.First at the one in Cicero now Hammond.Never a bad meal.Drive from Chesterton to Hammond just for carry out.The Best. read more

Hit or miss. Prices are better than average but the food is hit or miss. We had egg rolls and spring rolls and both were lousy. Beef egg foo young was excellent as was the orange chicken and fried rice. Kung pao delight was not very good. read more

I love there food it is so good I will order all the time the sweet and sour chicken is good

Been living here over 20 years, and now and then order from there. The Wonton soup is great so is the Singapore noodles but as far as Chinese vegetables go, you will find zero. Barring water chestnuts. I go downtown Chicago to 3 Happiness and when I order Szechuan beef it comes with baby corn bamboo shoots water chestnuts peapods and tons of other Chinese vegetables. The Szechuan beef Mongolian beef and many other dishes at wings only have sliced onions and green peppers swimming in about a pint of sauce! Since when are those Chinese vegetables? The orange Empress in sesame chicken are exactly the same except for what they pour over it, and there's only like two pieces of broccoli. I only go there for the soup and the fried rice is pretty good depending on the chef read more

The food was decent but the lady answering the phone and taking orders seemed to be overwhelmed. I think she needs a little assistance at the front counter because I called twice and was on hold each time 10 minutes or more. read more

Great chinese food. The eggrolls are awesome and actually have meat in them. The lunch specials are amazingly cheap, 3.95 and after 5 they go to 5.50 and they give you a lot of food. It tastes good. Its a carry out place so no eating in. But try it, you'll be surprised. read more

We've ordered lunch and number of times and never have been disappointed. Their lunch specials have an amazing amount of food for a really reasonable price. Can't comment on the eggs rolls personally, I'm not a fan of egg rolls but my co-workers seem to enjoy them. read more

I would definitely have to agree with Tony G. on this one. I was a long-time advocate for Wings until the past year or two. The last two times I ate there I was, in fact, sick the next day. Their food used to be flavorful and high quality and recently neither of those two characteristics of good dining have been up to par. I've seen the cook/owner guy go back and forth to the liquor store nearby since I live nearby, and have also witnessed him urinating in the alley. I let that go because their food was THAT scrumptious. Having poor-quality food, rude service, and a dirty establishment is enough for me to say loud and clear, YUCK! read more

I hate to crack down on Wings after having liked it before. I'm not sure if my tastes have changed or Wings has, but now everything they make is way too salty for me. Additionally, the last two times we've eaten here people at my house have gotten food poisoning (though it has never been me). While it's possible that all of these things are coincidences, I can no longer recommend Wings to anyone in good conscience. This goes doubly when one considers how many better Chinese options there are in the area. read more

The food is Ok, the service is just as blah...picking up the food, makes you not want to eat it...the place needs a bath. For the money though, its just not worth it. The food is average, their are better places down the road...make the trip . read more

This place is good, they make real fried rice, a lot of places in my area serve pale unseasoned fried rice with no taste. This place legit , it reminds me of some of the good Chinese resturants in Chicago. read more

We have been looking for a new Chinese restaurant for awhile...we like combination fried rice, egg rolls and Mongolian beef. Wings was a big disappointment, the rice smelled and tasted burnt. We asked for spicey beef and it wasn't and didn't have many veggies. The rice came in the smallest containers I have ever seen, I didn't know they made them that small. Needless to say we are still looking for a place to get decent Chinese food. read more

The only thing I actually liked from this place were the egg rolls. The pepper steak had such a weird fatty texture and the two younger kids working there were pretty rude to the lady behind the counter. I don't live in Indiana but I'll tell you I wouldn't come here if I did. The orange chicken was pretty strange. The chicken looked like that rip n chicken from Popeyes drenched in weird sauce and pretty dried out. Not impressed. They make some mean egg rolls. read more

Wings has the best Chinese food in the south Chicago, northWest Indiana area. I travel miles passing hundreds of Chinese places just to get dinner here. I don't come for conversation with the woman taking the money, I come for the fantastic food. Order, pay, go home and enjoy! read more

I don't know what happened, but this food was terrible today. Orange chicken didn't taste like orange chicken and my shrimp fried rice was extra greasy, and these baby, baby shrimps in my rice, I need a magnifying glass to find the shrimp in my shrimp fried rice read more

"Hello, Wang's?!" This is usually the answer I get when I call in to order my Chinese food. It's laughable when a person thinks about it, and the more often you call in to order, the more you just want to call and listen to the cash person say, "Hello, Wang's?!" Now, of course, if it's offending, then I apologise. But otherwise, on to the review. Wing's Chinese Food is the place you want to go if all you have time to do is go in, get your order, and carry out (basically a fast food type place). It's a walk-in place, as hinted just now, and stores a large variety of China's finest, enhanced with special herbs, spices, and sauces suited for the casual eater. Of course, the soy sauce is still there for the rice; but once you take home a lunch/dinner tray special, equipped with an egg roll, one look at your plate and you won't even remember that you have the soy sauce in the bag! The food is mouthwatering from the menu overhead to the plate in front of you, and one bite of the chicken and broccoli (my usually ordered special) can take your breath away. The chicken is juiced up and tender to the taste, while the broccoli's right there waiting for a crunch into its soft side (but it's the stem that will be the soft yet crunchy part). Put those together and you've got the taste of excellence. On that alone, the rice is nothing less than perfect. Wing's is the take-out restaurant you would want to take home with you for an extra service of rice, egg rolls, chicken and broccoli, or even a patty (some dinner, eh?). It's unfortunate that it's only limited to a corner eatery. With that, the waiting area isn't too big, nor does it hold a crowd for more than two minutes (to those who order early). Yet, it makes up for very affordable prices, take it that it's before 3pm and you're wanting the lunch special cheap. But for a small place, it doesn't disappoint its customers. "Hello, Wang's?!" read more

I've been ordering from Wings for years...I don't live by it but I work by it. I recently moved to Hessville and the closest Chinese restaurant is Lung Wah but they don't deliver. Nobody will deliver b/c I'm too far, but Wings does! Extra points for that. I read the negative reviews so I waited until my family got our food to post mine, just to be sure. Almost everything was great. My daughter 's favorite, Wonton soup, was perfect. Tons of wontons in it. My oldest son's fave, Spicy Orange Chicken, is fantastic, as always. My youngest son's fave, Sweet and Sour Chicken is exactly what you'd expect. ..it'd be pretty hard to mess that one up lol. My husband's favorite, Mongolian Beef, is delicious. Perfect blend of sweet, savory and spicy. It's almost become my favorite. My fave, Chicken egg foo yung, was delicious. We also ordered Pork Fried Rice, Crab Rangoon, Pot Stickers (ask for the spicy sauce as well as the pot sticker sauce...amazing combination) and fried wontons. All fabulous. The only thing we ordered that I was disappointed by was the Shrimp with Lobster Sauce. It tasted too fishy. Didn't taste like the lobster sauces I'm used to and the odor was unbecoming. That's why I gave it 4 stars, not 5. I would definitely recommend Wings, just not the shrimp w/lobster sauce :-) read more
